No one forces anyone to buy the things you review. I personally love your videos and I’d rather buy a ready made kit to build on and to add extra stuff to it. Your videos was the inspiration to do so
I used to think I was the only person who was obsessed with “survival” kits, or kits in general. But I believe you have me beat. I’ve been making kits for over 40 years now and thought I’d seen everything that was available. Your channel surprises me more often than not. Thanks for sharing your ‘obsession’ with us. 👍🏻👍🏻
This is actually a really decent kit. Probably the best pre made/purchasable pocket tin kit I've seen so far. It has water, fire, shelter making, food finding, signaling, basic navigation, and basic first aid covered. That's a lot for a tin. Plus it didn't have any useless BS fillers in it like those card multitools. Add in a mylar blanket and it would be about as good as you could possibly get from a small tin sized kit. I know I would have absolutely thought this was the coolest thing in the world as a kid!
I completely agree with you in the part that you mention that you do these reviews for fun and not for the price. Many of us may not buy these Kits, but they are definitely entertaining and give ideas to improve our own Kits. I love your content. Keep it up, greetings from Mexico🇲🇽
People blow my mind. Folks act like YOU come up with the pricing and products. I dig the way you go through things, telling it like it is. It's appreciated on this end for sure, brother. Stay safe out there. 🤙🏾
Not a bad kit, and the price isn't too unreasonable. I always replace those little cotton tinder firestarters with either cottonballs or tampons soaked in Vicks Vaporub in a small ziploc bag. That way they serve multiple purposes. They still work great as firestarters, and can be used to help heal chapped lips, chafed skin, ease friction on blisters, and help alleviate congestion caused by allergies.
That was my thought too ... and sure, I could also think most of this stuff is overpriced and not worth the money .. but hey, that's why I just watch other open and review it instead of buying it myself. =D
Eric, great video. Lots of good information and ideas on how to improve our own survival kits. Thanks for taking the time and going to the trouble of making these great videos. Don`t pay any attention to the individuals that complain about the prices. No one is holding a gun to their heads and making them buy anything. They would still complain if you gave it to them for free. You just cannot please everybody, so stop trying. Take care and have a great day.
Good video Eric. I wish certain people would try to understand that you are not selling anything to anyone. This is all about the fun of you reviewing the kits for us and the sharing of ideas in the comments.
It seems like a pretty good kit. If one has room in a pocket it is also nice to pair it with an emergency blanket. I have started including micro cord in my kits too as there are a number of types that are very strong and you get more cord than something thicker.
After Binge watching you all evening and enjoying your content you have earned my subscribe and have made me finally sit down and wipe up a simple kit for when I am out in the Canadian brush
Excellent little kit. A boiled sweet would be a good addition for a Scout! I've seen all your videos now, got to say, I think you are the best Survival Kit Reviewer that I have seen. Your passion for the subject shines through. Please would you review the 4 Patriots Staples of Survival Kit, I will be very interested to see what you added. All the very best to you and yours 👍 👍 👍 🍻
I’ve built my own survival kit up from seeing Greg ovens and Zachary Fowler, I also have added to my kit from listening to ur videos, ur doing great , I love watching u and like the way u upgrade them
Happy to see a new video Eric. New sub here and I enjoy your reviews a lot. I bought this kit last month as a nice little backup to throw in my pack just in case. These mini pocket kits are awesome and it's amazing how much useful stuff can fit into such a small space. Your channel is quickly becoming my favorite on youtube. Your positive vibes, presentation style, and calming voice are respected and appreciated. Keep up the great work!
I agree with you, they are fun to look at, and I enjoy viewing your reviews. Of course I would not pay the price of most of these kits as I prefer to assemble my own kit and it would definitely be a lot larger and more comprehensive.
Also at $35 I would consider that kit extremely reasonably priced. The quality of the components is outstanding. If I wanted to supplement it, I would add more purification tablets and cram as many extra Tinder-Quick tabs into odd corners as possible.
It is fun to look inside these kits. My main hobby is collecting military rations. There is a burgeoning community out there and a lot of reviewers on YT.
Hi Erik, I came across your videos and you got me very excited about survival kits haha. I also like your voice and the calmness of your channel. Please keep going 👍
I bought the pocket survival kit from sol for 40 dollars and I love this kit, it’s small and portable and some people may think it’s expensive but it’s not, because the kit is quality and custom made. It’s just like getting a fake tourniquet off of Amazon from China instead of getting a 35 dollar commercial cat tourniquet that will work and save lives.
I agree 100% with your statement, these kits are cool and fun to look through!! That is a really nice kit actually, i did not expect such a decent small kit!
Good video Eric, I enjoy your videos about these survival kits, these Best Glide kits look pretty good I am going on try to invest in some of the bigger Best Glide ASE survival kits to put in my bugout bag.
I carried something similar for years as teenager, it was more of an early EDC type thing really I suppose (back before EDC was even I thing I guess as it was in the mid 90s) but you nailed the problem. It's like a game of Tertis tying to get stuff back into a tin which over time made me reluctant to open it up to get things out to use, I ended up dumping it all out into a pencil case and carrying all my 'stuff' that way.
Hi Eric! Good to have you back! Hope your holidays were good for you and your family! Another awesome vid Eric! I agree with you and so many others about the price issue! Why get so angry about it!? Take a chill pill and just enjoy the kitbashing!! It’s so much fun to watch you open, evaluate, and then add to the kits! The folks have the option to not buy the kits! What a novel concept!! Would I buy this kit? Yeah, I probably would, but part of the reason I watch is to LEARN! I enjoy putting my own kits together, and your vids give me ideas and options for gear I may want to include in my kits. Thanks again for another great video! I look forward to your next one! God bless, stay well and safe!
Nice review! I think it’s a great little kit! If you bought all those items separately you would spend pretty close to what they’re asking for the kit. Great channel!
I actually like that you review higher priced kits. You usually get what you pay for and your reviews show that to be mostly true. You can build a kit full of cheap items but why take a chance on them failing.
The best Survival Kit is kind of like the best Pocket Knife... The best Kit is the one you have on you when you need it. Better to have it & not need it than... You know the rest. Thanks for another great Video! Cheers 🍻
Not a bad little kit. I do feel it would be better if it was under twenty five dollars. I have most of that stuff in my junk drawer. I like pencils in survival kits. They are great if you get eaten by a grizzly bear and need to write your last will and testament. I would like to see a couple of pieces of paper in the kit. The pencil can also be used as fire tinder if needed. I like keeping a cheap pencil sharpener in survival kits. You can use them to shave twigs for fire tinder.
Thank you for your reviews. I love them. Very relaxing. Im sorry people complain about any part of your videos. The price!!!! How stupid... as if you have anything to do with that! And if/when a person gathers all those things it is SUPER EXPENSIVE. Anyway thanks for these videos. One day maybe you could show us your entire stash of survival kits. Oh so cool. Have a gentle day!
I usually make a 25mm pulltab (hold down witn hair elastic, also usefull) on end of thape, stick a piece of 220grit wet&dry rough side out to ease removal. With cold and wet fingers it will be 100% impossible to remove as is. And the wet&dry can be used to sharpen stuff so not 100% waste
I'm only an occasional viewer of your channel. And definitely not an armchair survivalist. (Or whatever the preferred term is these days.) But I've always found your reviews interesting & rather fun. I'm not surprised you've had nasty comments though - which is not the same as a difference of opinion - something about the anonymity of the internet brings out the worst in people. Please keep up your reviews.
As someone who has made and used both homemade and professionally made snares I have to say that I absolutely hate brass wire. It's okay if you are using spring snares but for ground snares I've lost many a rabbit with brass. Brass is a fairly soft metal and animals can twist it around until it snaps. Where I live now snares are not legal so I haven't used them in many years but I doubt little has changed.
Eric I’ll state the obvious. It’s your money and no one should be rude or abusing towards you for spending it on whatever you want. Totally uncalled for that’s my opinion. Thanks for sharing this.
I don't get it. If they don't like the price don't buy it. It's not like you make the price. Keep up the good work and thank you for the quality content. Also I enjoy your down to earth demeanor.
I ended up buying some mini bic lighters, as you rightly point out its always good to have multiple fire source, though I had a thought and wonder if it a good plan to wrap some tape around the plastic body as a good way of having some handy ?
I like the idea of the pocket size kits. This was a good one.$30 OMG. Just kidding. It seems to cover all the bases even better with the other things you added.

If people don't like the price they don't have to buy it 🤷 it's truly that simple, I see these kit's as a great addition to any kinda bug out or hiking bag. I even keep a kit along with other several pieces of gear and first aid in each of my vehicles and my hiking bag. To get so upset over a price is childish especially considering there are so many different types of them on the market. Just find what fits your needs and price range and you're good. No need to leave harsh comments on a channel that's here to show us all the different options out there and what comes in them. But then again it is youtube and people love to bash everything from the review itself all the way to someone's comment it's just pathetic.

I remember seeing a magnesium and ferro rod light a cotton ball for the first time in boy scouts and I thought it was magic lol.

That ranger band can also be used as a flame extender for building a fire. The rubber burns long and very hot.

Best Glide very much seem to be the standard for pocket kits.
Not bad, I've been think about getting something like that for edc
Thanks for these videos !! If you were to build these yourself you would be spending more
on the contents ...Most are well worth the price.
do you have a video where you show how to use the items inside?

Thanks for the video!
Nice, pencil is crying for some paper.., maybe add some tin foil & some sand paper. Good kit.
ONE Immodium tablet? I admire your optimism, bro.
Hey there, not necessarily relevant to this video, but my wife says she didn't think it's good to take tablets out of their sealed containers to add them into something like a first aid kit. Are there any guidelines that you know of or is it generally OK?
With the pencil you can leaf marks or make a map or something
Nice piece of kit
Should do reveiw on the "life line" survival kit. Its a 26 piece kit
Where did you get the hand sanitizers?
I've never agreed about pencils and Morse code instructions. The only Morse code you need is S.O.S. But thanks for the review.
Could you put a little duct tape attached to the underside of the lid?
The price is worth it, all be a little spendy lol, but that is one of these survival tins tins I have seen yet
AFAIK you don't set the price on the kits, and no one forced them to buy one. If I am in error, my apologies.
It is a good kit, and you did improve on it. There are still some changes I would make, but overall, a good general kot.
Good additions
Very cool video
Was there something to write on besides instructions?
Add a pencil sharpener, one with the largest pencil diameter possible.
Great for tender fro ticks
