Now, to be fair to Fred at least, he got messed up while at the asylum here, at lake oblongata, where the psytanium "makes psychic more psychic , and unstable people more unstable"

Getting dogen’s brain is so unsatisfying. You don’t get it after taking down a boss. Nah it’s just on a ledge. A very random ledge. Like out of all the kids you bonded with him the most.

Psychonauts 2 is really, really good
Still has great writing, fixed most, if not all, of the gameplay
I miss those days when you could just escape your anxiety by just climbing a tree and sit there away from people... kids were shitty but they were too lazy to bother you if you climb high enough

If Jello plays the sequel, gotta wonder if hes gonna at least watch that weird inbetween seperate vr game they made as a prolouge to 2, cause if not thats gonna be confusing.
The sequel pretty much gives you a recap of the vr game. I think it's only necessary if you REALLY want to know what's up with Lobatto.

@@abigailtobey66 well the intro of psychonauts 2 does go into it a little. It may not give a lot of details but there's also not a whole lot of details to draw from
Black Velvetopia has to be my favorite level from an aesthetic standpoint. And Bonepart land is my favorite level overall, mostly because Napoleon is my favorite historical figure.

I know some people are clamoring for jello to play psychonaughts 2, but do you think there's a chance he'll at least look at rhombus of ruin? It's essentially a prolog to 2 but it's a vr game with sight based teleportation for movement, given jello's motion sickness I can't imagine he'd handle it well but it's at least a good watch if you find a silent playthrough of it. And I don't mean like, stream his reaction to it I mean just in general cause it IS more psychonaughts writing and voice acting and since this game is carried by that I imagine he'd enjoy it at least a little edit: cleared out anything that might be a spoiler but I forgot to mention. I said it's a prolog but it essentially deals with everything the ending in one left unfinished in case they couldn't do 2 so it sets up the sequel as it's own thing that can actually continue the story.
I personnaly think all you REALLY need from Rhombus of ruin is, the intro (It's a banger) and the Dr Loboto cinematic witch is one of my favorite moments in ALL psychonauts. (All the story is great in Rhombus of Ruin but I think THAT moment is really worth not missing out on)
@@cinnamonpumpkin7655 i agree but i feel like you also miss out on some good character moments from the other instructors even if 75% are gags, but rhombus did do a lot for lobotos character development that they couldnt do in 1. also thanks for reminding me of the opening song, id completely forgotten about it

The chain link climbing nonsense in meat circus is one of my least favorite bits of platforming in all of psychonauts.
It is time…FOR HELL!
Okay so even major fans of the series like me can admit that the first game had it's fair share of issues, the platforming could be floaty the combat was rough and the camera actively fought you at times, but the themes and ideas at play here helped us look past the rough exterior.
Just FYI, you don't need an xbox controller to use a controller with this game. ANY dual-analog stick controller would work. I played this on my channel using a cheap logitech model. And you're right, it was not made for PC. it was made for a controller in mind. I am impressed you beat it with keyboard.
Has Jello gotten a controller that works on pc since psychonauts?
I hope Jello plays the second game. it has all the good writing and great level design but it's not made horribly 2005y

I didn’t even realize it, but me and Piph (is that how you spell that) both do the same thing where at the end of a sentence, we make a little annoying noise and I don’t unhear it after I’m told

Generally I like Tara Strong, but as much as I like this character and I think Tara is fine, I absolutely H A T E when she talks in Psychonauts, because her voice is SIGNIFICANTLY louder than it needs to be and absolutely hurts to listen to while playing. When she does a shrill cry or shout (which is most of her dialogue) it is actually physically painful if you have the misfortune to be wearing headphones. I swear her audio is louder than anyone else's.
Like I don't want to be negative, I think Tara is fine! But oh my GOD the audio could've used some adjusting. Ow.
So are you sure you're not saving these streams? I'd love to watch them in about 7 months.

I think you hindered yourself really badly playing with PC controls. you should have tried hard to get a controller. The game isnt nearly as hard as you seem to making it out to be. Everything is mapped more simply and easily on a controller.
Get a dang PC controller.
