      Appreciate you man! 🙌🏼 Sheep have been tough all throughout Florida this year. It’s been really strange. 🤨 but yeah man, hit those docks. I’m waiting for the weather to clear up here some to go check some more.

      @@hookcraft1984 I think they’re more commonly called a bottom sweeper jig outside New England/ NY area. . We use them up north for tautog, another toothie fish, w a half a green crab on them usually.

    Do you have any tips about making a successful fishing youtube channel? Thanks - Love your videos

    • @hookcraft1984
      @hookcraft1984  7 місяців тому

      I wish I knew 😅. I’m still learning how myself, but here’s what I learned so far:
      1. Be authentic. Let your real reactions and emotions show. It makes you more relatable.
      2. Let the fish tell you what the video will be about. Don’t ever force a specific lure, technique, or location if the fish want something entirely different. It’s better to catch them and make a different video than what you planned.
      3. Keep intros and narration short. If it doesn’t add value to the story, teaches the viewer something, or offer entertainment, cut it out.
      4. Keep videos somewhat short unless it impedes on the story. Don’t make it longer than it really has to. Keep in mind many folks’ attention span these days are really short so longer videos don’t do too well.
      5. Use the highest resolution you can on your cameras. Don’t go out and buy fancy gear either but shoot in the best quality you can afford. I started with 1080p. Gotta start somewhere. 🤷🏻‍♂️
      6. Audio is a bigger factor than you realize when starting out. Amazon has great mics that are cheap.
      7. Always show respect towards the fish! If you’re keeping it, put it on ice. If you’re letting it go, get it back in the water ASAP. Keep in mind, this is fishing. Sometimes things happen outside your control. 🤷🏻‍♂️
      8. Have fun and find your style. What works for others may not work for you, so take advice with a grain of salt. Just keep trying to improve each video that you make and you’ll find a style you enjoy.
      Hope this helps!
