Advent Calendar League 2017 Review. 4/5. I was looking forward to this series as it features two of my favourite content producers, tat reviewer Ashens and general wierdo Daniel. They were opening 4 calenders each day and assigning points in a league table, but it quickly became clear that the Wera calender was actaully really good, containing a high quality tool set. Eventually they had to change the rules to make it fairer, and Wera still won by a landslide. I was expecting comedic antics but the biggest joke turned out to be the calenders themselves. This was not entirely expected and I for one was very pleased. I looked forward to this every day, partly because of how entertaining this car crash of calenders proved to be, but also because I expected my goat sacrifice would not be in vain. I had hoped the Dark Master of Grass would make an appearence. He did not. This is not to say there was no demonic presence, on one day there was a burned skeletal bird and I am fairly sure Daniel was being slowly posessed via the stamps in one of the calenders, but the One True Mask did not make an appearence. Because of this I not only have to face the fact that my goat sacrifice was a waste, but also that I cannot give this 5 stars. Would watch again and I look forward to next year. 4/5

I actually don't think it's a good calendar. It has good quality stuff in it, but getting the pouch on the first day means there's no surprise as you know that you'll get a piece of screwdriver every day. That kind of ruins the point of the advent calendar, as you could just buy the set on its own and not have to wait to complete it.
At the price paid for the Wera calendar I basically cannot find an equivalent screwdriver set for sale, surprisingly good value and I might even get one next year.

The two Paw Patrol calendars they *did* have claimed to have either a piece of chocolate or a mini-figure per day, neither of them was the monstrosity witnessed here. If someone does see it, feel free to correct me. Bullyland Frozen: *$69.96 + $5.90 shipping.* Unsurprisingly, there are no reviews. Cars 3: $25.01 (yes, really). Average star rating of 2.7 from 9 reviews. Wera: $77.99. Only 2 reviews, but both gave it 5/5 stars. Personally, I'd say that was a bit of a high asking price, but there's no denying how nice the end product is.
Take it from a child who really, really liked coloring: Stationery that bad is worse than no advent calendar at all. At least the Frozen cardboard looks fairly nice, and you can play with your five plastic toys.

Wera: the 2017 calendar has sadly been taken off Amazon (not _that_ surprising) but you'll all be pleased to know that the 2022 Wera Adventskalendar has 4.9 stars and 120 ratings... however, it's also £76.80 if you want one Frozen: 3.8 stars, 120 ratings (apparently a lot of the positive reviews came from Germany, of all places) but thankfully, you can't buy it any more Cars 3: still 4.4, but now 230 ratings (it even has reviews from this year saying how disappointed their son was with the flags and cones) but now sold for £12.30 which... I guess is still decent value if you just want the toys? I'm actually reading the reviews along with the video. There are a few that have been added. Someone asked that Grandmother who rated Paw Patrol 5 stars if her grandson ended up liking it lol. Also, under the Cars one, someone wrote: "The little cars are nice, but there are only 5 of them; the rest of the days 'surprises' are absolute junk. we've had 3 little traffic cones, 3 tiny fragile flags and a couple of crash barriers. I feel so sorry for my 3 year old when he looks at his plastic flag then sees what his brother has from his Lego advent calendar." Nothing but love for you guys but if you do this again next year i recomend lavalier mics or some stationary mic because the audio levels were all over the place. thanks for the vids tho i really enjoyed them . 4/5 ( deducting one point for lack of grass masks )

I'm actually reading the reviews along with the video. There are a few that have been added. Someone asked that Grandmother who rated Paw Patrol 5 stars if her grandson ended up liking it lol. Also, under the Cars one, someone wrote: "The little cars are nice, but there are only 5 of them; the rest of the days 'surprises' are absolute junk. we've had 3 little traffic cones, 3 tiny fragile flags and a couple of crash barriers. I feel so sorry for my 3 year old when he looks at his plastic flag then sees what his brother has from his Lego advent calendar."
Basically, if you're going to get your kid an advent calendar, I think the popular opinion is just go with a LEGO one, or at the very least, one with chocolate in every day.

Holy crap, I looked it up and there's another Paw Patrol calendar for £25 that has really high quality looking plastic figurines and literally nothing else. It far outstrips the Cars 3 calendar.
