4:48 I think the trigger is heavy like that because it’s a carry gun. You don’t accidentally want to send one down range. You need to be deliberate at pulling the trigger.
Many amazing carry guns have 4-5 pound triggers. If you are proficient with your pistol and shoot like you should even a 2 pound trigger you shouldn’t “ send one down range “. Keep your finger off trigger until ready to shoot and trigger control is the key parts.
I agree I think the trigger pull I just can’t stand the false wall that the HCP has, I’d look into Powder River or apex I’ve heard really good things about them.

I dropped the Apex trigger in and changed out the striker and springs to the Mcarbo Titanium striker full kit (springs, sleeve and caps) It comes all together in one kit. It made a huge difference. I'd say the Mcarbo kit made a huge difference by itself with the trigger pull. The apex trigger made it just a tad better. I'd try the striker kit first
My only issues with the Hellcat Pro are the heavy and long trigger and the trigger guard undercut. The undercut can be remedied with some sandpaper and a rotary tool. I’ve heard the new Apex trigger with some expert polishing helps, but honestly, after over 1000 rounds, that trigger will get better and the shooter will also. Otherwise it’s been rock solid reliable and with a Crimson Trace Rad Micro Pro green dot sight I can rapid fire mag dump onto a four inch round steel target from 20 feet. I pocket carry my Hellcat Pro using an Alabama Pocket Holster and nobody has ever been able to detect it and/or tell that it’s a 15+1 .9mm with a red dot sight. Most assume it’s a large smartphone. My preferred ammo is the awesome Lehigh Xtreme Defender .90 grain +P loaded by Underwood Ammo. It’s rated at 1,475 FPS and is barrier blind. That solid copper fluted “Phillip’s head screwdriver” projectile allows excellent ballistics while keeping the total weight down. I’ve had zero malfunctions using Federal Premium full brass FMJ practice rounds.
Ive been carrying a regular hellcat for a couple of years now and I completely rely on it for edc. The trigger was the first thing I replaced and now it’s solid.
I own the shield plus optics ready model, just bought it a month ago, I shoot it well and everything is good just out of the box. I shot a few rounds with the hellcat pro and I didn't find the trigger is bad while shooting yes it is on the harder side but for me I didn't see it as a downside. I think we should be trained with the gun to be more professional !.
I’ve been carrying this firearm since it came out and I also have a 365 x macro and I like the hellcat pro much better IMO and about the trigger it was made to be heavy it’s a self defense firearm I would rather have a heavy trigger than a lighter exp. In a self defense situation.

I dont really mind the trigger but I dont like how long it is to get to the wall. Im waiting for apex to get the triggers back in stock lol. Its supposed to reduce the weight to 5lbs (trigger pull) and reduce the drag to the wall by about half.
I installed the trigger shortly after my first range trip. The original trigger was gritty and not good in every respect - travel, poundage, reset. That is fixed now. After 500 rounds or so on the apex trigger i'm at just under 5 pounds and the reset is fairly good. Why the hellcat pro doesn't come stock with a trigger that runs like the xdm elite I have no idea. I think that would have been a better choice out of the box. The Apex makes it better than acceptable.
Many cavil over triggers. The Hellcat Pro is not a race gun and never was intended to be. The trigger falls into a combat trigger schema and is not far from triggers on other pistols coming out of Croatia by Springfield Armory. In a stress situation, I want a bit of a heavy trigger. The trigger on mine comes in a 7-pounds, 2.0-ounces with a five-pull average, but has smoothed out during my break-in of it. Being a pistol that I am getting ready to EDC, I do not believe in modifying, or deviating from, stock triggers that come on a firearm. Either I can train through a questionable trigger or I get rid of the gun. In a stress situation, you won't even feel the trigger pull. If the trigger is too easy, you may shoot something (or someone) that does not need to be shot - yet.
In todays age , bottom line is it’s far behind competition. 7lbs is super heavy even for EDC in my opinion. I’m not saying I want a 3lb trigger by any means, but something in 5lb range should be standard. If you “ shoot something or someone “ that you are not intending to with a 5lb trigger then you do not train or shoot nearly enough and should take some classes for sure!
@@muddyrivertactical I totally agree! I have carried a 1911 for most of my life, but have worked with many pistols and revolvers over the years, but still favor the 1911 trigger. I have come accustomed to triggers on Glock pistols, Springfield Armory pistols, CZ, Beretta, Sig Sauer, etc. though my times of handling them. Whatever I carry, I train and become intimately familiar with. Currently, I am carrying a Glock G48, but the Hellcat Pro and Sig Sauer P365XL are part of the rotation. All have different triggers. I usually have to dry fire them a couple of times, and take them to the range, to reacquaint myself with the trigger before they are selected in the rotation.
I just recently picked up another hellcat pro in FDE. I owned a normal black one last year. But I did the notice the trigger in the FDE is a tad lighter maybe 6lbs, but the break is obnoxiously clean! Idk if maybe they re worked their trigger or not but I notice a difference compared to my old hellcat pro

Yes many people have. I think what you will see more and more though are optic ready pistols that do not require plates so that these new optics will co-witness with the regular sights.

I’ve had mine on my canik Mete sft for a few months now, hasn’t failed me in anyway. Less than half the cost of a holosun 507k but I will say the glass isn’t as clear BUT it works pretty good and it’s a direct mount with shield footprint. 🤷♂️
What would you recommend for your first carry gun, Hellcat pro or P365 X Macro (I have the eps carry already). The gear up package for the hellcat pro looks like a great value but I can get the x macro for 100 under msrp.
Powder River Precision trigger kit fixes all the trigger issues. Mine now has a 3.5 crisp short break and a much better feeling aluminum trigger.

Yes trigger is all what you get used to. Even after breaking in its not good but any means, you just get used to it and don't notice as much.
I honestly love mine. I shoot it better than my P320 and it has never miss fed ever since I got it. Ive got about 500-750 rounds through it now.

How light a trigger do you want on a carry gun? A heavier trigger can be a safety factor.

I personally would go with the Macro. Main reason is like I talked about in video, the trigger stock on the macro is way better

Never had to contact them for anything personally as I have never had any issues at all with any of mine. I have heard they are good though
I thought the Sig 365 triggers were mush, reg 365 and 365 xl all totally shootable however
My 365x and 365 macro are great triggers. But like everything, different people may have different opinions on what is a good trigger feel for them
