    I have owned both the 43X and the Hellcat Pro...as a matter of fact I traded the 43X for the Hellcat Pro....so glad I did.....Better trigger, better capacity, better sights, and is a shooter for sure....43X is what it is and probably just right for some.

    Why, when doing these videos, does no one talk about the 365 / XL MODULARITY? The fact that you can change out to totally different grip modules if you don't like the standard? Wilson combat now makes one, and there are a couple of companies that make aluminum grip modules. You can build / order a 365 in whatever configuration you choose. That is a plus that puts the others out of the conversation, in my opinion...

      I believe Steve mention he customized his. We didn't because we are comparing stock to stock. But that is a good point that we should have brought it up more.

      I'm honestly surprised more P365/xl owners don't take advantage of this. I used to work at Scheels every summer during the school break and I always thought the P365's modularity was a major selling point. Then I realized that many people are casual gun owners and don't really take advantage of this (maybe it's just because I worked at Scheels which is a sporting goods store that sells firearms instead of a gun store so we get more casual customers). Sure I get shit from turning my P365 into a "race gun" when it primarily should be used for a CCW, but I love taking advantage of the modularity. It makes more sense to do it with the larger P320 series, but if the option is there for my P365 I'm going to take advantage of it. Heck at this point I spent more getting different grip modules, slides, and barrels for my P365 that it would have made more financial sense to just buy an additional P365xl instead. However, just having the option of changing grip lengths, slide lengths, and grip modules from one FCU is still cool.

    • @jessehudson3377
      @jessehudson3377 2 роки тому +7

      most people don't care. you can swap the slides with all the brands. the only real advantage is you can swap grip modules with the sig. you can actually do that with the Glock and hellcat you just have to buy a lower yes it's more money but no one is really going to put a smaller grip on their gun. if that's what they want they are just going to buy a smaller gun. so when you say the xl is modular I would ask is it really. standard 365 I would say yes. but with the hell cat extended mags I would say that's a wash.

    • @jessehudson3377
      @jessehudson3377 2 роки тому +4

      @Frank Bonazza III people definitely make lowers for Glocks. Like 10 different companies. And also you missed the point. You know who makes lowers for hellcats Springfield. Yes it's more expensive cuz you have to buy a whole other gun but it can be done. And again you missed the point because that's irrelevant because nobody's going to put a smaller lower on their gun. So the advantages of the XL are nil because no one's going to put a smaller lower on their gun. If you have the regular 365 you can make the argument that you could buy the larger lower but that's not worth talking about here. And every gun has the ability basically to buy a different slide. That's not exclusive to sig if you have a Glock you can buy like 300 different slides. So the modularity at least in this case is kind of like whatever. Not a huge Factor.

    Sig for me, the WC XL grip module puts it out in front. 43X has no texture to speak of which is weird because the Gen 5 texture would have been just fine. As for the Hellcat, I know that Springfield doesn't make it and I have nothing against them but I do however find myself hesitant to purchase from Springfield. I have heard both sides of the story and I am assuming the truth falls somewhere in the middle and that's enough for me to steer clear. Grip texture on the Hellcat was good, but I felt like the ergonomics were a bit lacking compared to the stock P365 grip module.
    In the end if you have the money to pimp out a 43X MOS and you want to rock Glock then go for it. If you like Springfield and you want something that size then get the Hellcat Pro, and if you like modularity then go with the Sig.

    Already was carrying the original Hellcat with the 15rd magazines that have the grip sleeve on them. It's basically a Hellcat Pro with a shorter barrel, and it's a comfortable grip for me just like that. I've seen people on youtube say the Pro shoots better than the regular Hellcat, but I don't know since I've never shot a Hellcat Pro.
    I have all 3 of the guns being reviewed as well as a basic 365. The one I carry the most is my own version of a 365X, which I created long before Sig decided to release their own. I mostly carried a 365 slide, XL frame, with magguts +2 magazines. The most recent switch to it is the new Wilson 365 XL frame.
    My 43x has the Shield Arms steel mag catch plus their 15rd SA magazines. I've never had issues with it set up that way, but I've still been hesitant to carry it due to all the "alleged issues" others have had with them.

    • @TrueShotAmmo

      Those are all nice setups. The only reason we went back to stock on the 365xl (check out @mrbigkids video on his upgrades) is to compare apples to apples how it comes out of the box. That way I can't say well it was better with this upgrade or that one.
      We have not tried the hellcat with the 15 round mag yet but I don't want to see how it compares recoil-wise. In stock configuration, the pro was less snappy.
      For me the advantage of having a longer barrel makes it worth getting the pro over the original hellcat with an extended mag.
      Thanks for watching and commenting.

      @@TrueShotAmmo the original Hellcat with the 15 round magazine is a very controllable shooter. The flush fit mag is a bit difficult to shoot the kind of scores I’m used to, but using the 15 rd mag makes a huge difference. And the 15 rd mag is an official Springfield product. I did replace the trigger shoe with an Apex and that made a huge difference and didn’t cost much.

    Great video! I own the 365XL and shot the 43x and standard Hellcat. I must say, the modularity of the Sig, night sights, holster options and better recoil as a EDC carry was part of my decision process. All Sig would need for rail option is manufacture a lower with that option. However, the 43x was a close second due to being a Glock owner. I agree it’s all about what works best for you is always the best purchase. I love my 365xl with Holosun optic. But the co-witness rear sights does change the game for the Hellcat Pro. Might go shoot one to see how it compares now I’ve seen your video. Thanks guys.

    I have only owned the Hellcat Pro, but have to agree with the video on the grip and holster pull. When shopping, my wife and I would never find a pistol we were both comfortable with, her hands are smaller, so standard grips on full size pistols didn't feel as comfortable for her. The micro compact like the Hellcat(not pro) are too small for me to feel comfortable. The Hellcat Pro is the first pistol we have both picked up and feel that it fits perfect.

    Excellent review, I own a G43X and bought a 48 slide. So I move between them depending where I am. Lots of aftermarket bells and whistles for the G43X-48 (Kagwerx slide release, TLR lights, Shield Mags, Apex triggers, etc). I have the SIG365XL as well. Very nice pistol. I like the Springfield XDs but man what ass pain to get parts from Springfield to work on your own gun. I have not shot a Pro, but I do love the XDs. Excellent point on the 'luxury of time' for the Pro. I spend a lot of time overseas and Glocks are EVERYWHERE, and they go BANG every time the trigger is pulled (big point for me as well) plus my PCC takes Glock mags (G17/19). My EDC in the States is a G43X and duty is G19 (because they are everywhere). Again, an excellent review, I may 'impulse buy' the Pro and see how it feels. Thanks Fellas.

Mag changes with stock mags/stock mag release are typical and expected, wonky (for lack of a better term) with the Shield mags. Made the mag release change and those shield mags literally shoot out of the magwell now. Now, that being said, the OEM 10 round mags are now hesitant to drop free, but I just know not to carry them and stick to the Shield arms mags only. My $0.02.

    Great video! I was convinced that Springfield was the answer for my first handgun purchase. Shot all three at the range and consistently shot tighter groups with the Sig. The 43X grip was too big for my taste, and especially when it didn't come with a corresponding capacity. The Hellcat trigger was incredibly stiff about every fifth pull, then would return to "normal." This was true on the range gun as well as 3 others I dry-fired in different retailers. I don't know if this would improve with break in, but it made the Hellcat unusable for me.

    These are amazing times compared to what we had back in the '70's. It's hard to process that was 50 years ago. The P365 was having problems when I considered the micro 9's, so I had the 43x and Hellcat at the same time. I had no issues with the 15 round 43x magazines. I shoot a little high with the G19 grip angle and the 43x is a little better. I loved both micros but I passed the 43x down to my son. The Hellcat was a little more concealable, I almost traded one of my Hellcats in for the Hellcat Pro OSP last week but decided that I valued the improved concealability and flexibility of 11, 13, and 15 round magazines of the "amateur" Hellcat ; ) I also decided I didn't want the additional size, weight, and expense of an optical sight on a micro nine. Not to mention that I was dropping a hunk of change trading "up" to the PRO OSP. I understand the modular and aftermarket appeal of the P365, especially if you already have a P320. But I preferred the sights, trigger, extra round, and grip angle/feel of the Hellcat over the P365. Just as I would pick the 43x again if I also still shot a G17/19. But using that logic, my favorite point and shoot service pistol grip angle is the original economical XD40 with 357SIG and 9mm barrels, so the Hellcat is its logical little buddy. 😁

    I went to check out the P365X at the gunshop and liked the thin full finger grip, but was disappointed with the trigger that had a lumpy take up and mushy break. I later checked out the Hellcat Pro and liked the very similar grip, 15rd capacity, a smoother take up, and much crisper break (albeit with a slightly higher 6 lbs pull). I preferred the Hellcat Pro front night sight with high visibility U rear sight. I went with the Hellcat Pro (optic ready, no optic), no regrets. I also like my Mossberg MC2c which is more affordable, is similarly slim in the grip and slide for comfortable carry, and has both 13rd and 15rd mags for extra carry versatility. Only downsides of my particular MC2c were a too stiff extractor (solved by trimming the extractor spring one coil) and a mag release button that is a bit too proud of the frame (fixed with a small stick on bumper pad behind the button). Other MC2c owners have not had issue with these.

    Only brand loyal people will choose Glock over the Hellcat Pro. The Hellcat Pro has better sights, a better trigger, more natural grip angle, better ergonomics, textured grip (unlike Glock’s slick grip), higher capacity and the list goes on… reliability? The Hellcat Pro is equally reliable. 12k rounds with no failures or misfeeds with a variety of ammo! Hellcat Pro is a no brainer! It’s not even a comparison!

    Although I shoot my Hellcat pretty good. It is very snappy and it makes me less likely To get the Hellcat pro. I've since went back to my M&P Shield. 2.0 and just carry a backup mag. The Hellcat is much smaller than the shield. With more capacity. So if I'm going somewhere and I really need that capacity and could only have one magazine to keep down printing, I'll carry the hellcat. But for the most part, it's the Shield for me.

    I had carried the Glock G48 and G45. I handled and shot the Sig P365XL and liked it. The Hellcat Pro won me over; it has replaced the G48 and G45 as an everyday carry. With a 15+1 capacity it struck a balance (with me) between the G48, G45, and P365XL. The grip texture, angle, and width feels real good in my hand. Now, it's just more range time with the Hellcat Pro to get us perfectly in tune with each other.

    Height or grip height with OEM magazines inserted the Hellcat Pro and the Glock 43x mos are the same, the 365xl has a shorter grip so it conceals easier. I own all 3 of them and the new 365xl comes with a different slide so you don’t lose the rear sight when you install a red dot. Not meant to trash the video but when they where measuring the height they placed them on the table. All 3 are great if you don’t mind the extra weight the Hellcat Pro is the way to go, but definitely try them all see what fits your hand better for me I shoot the G43x better and faster but to be honest I did replace the sights and added some rubber grip tape.

    Exactly the comparison review I was looking for. I agree these 3 fire arms are direct competitors of each other. I currently own and love my XL but I’m really interested in the Hellcat pro since the deal breaker for me in the past was the size of the original Hellcat. I feel the pro is what the original Hellcat should’ve been. I do also like the 43x mos but if we’re talking about ready to go straight out of the box then I would go with the Hellcat pro unless there is an Pro version of the 43x then that would really grab my attention fingers crossed that Glock hears us out on that 🤞🏽

    I own all 3. My carry rotation in order is, 1. P365XL, 2. Glock 43X, 3. Hellcat Pro. I have some PSA Micro Dagger mags coming so that will probably bump up the 43X to the number one spot depending on the reliability of the PSA Micro Dagger mags. They are all great guns and don't feel bad if you do not own one or the other. I love the HCP too, but I've tricked out my 43X and am used to firing it more because the grip angle points more naturally for me. The only reason why the XL is number one, is because it is a little more concealable than the 43X and a tad more capacity. The grip on the HCP is little square-ish, and after extended times of shooting, it can do a number on the palm of your hand. That's just me though. As far as drawing purchase goes, the 43X is by far the quickest and most consistent draw out of the 3 for me.

    For me it’s the g43x, no contest. But that’s just because I shoot Glocks a lot and I trust them. That said, the hellcat pro is THE gun to get for most people, especially when considering the price. Sig? I just don’t like how they test their stuff on the consumer. My p320 had to go back to Sig twice, and I also find the p365 trigger to be too light and unsafe with no trigger shoe safety.
    The g43 needs the Shield 15 round mags and the Shield mag release to be competitive with the other offerings. This then puts a complete g43 significant higher priced than the competition. Unless you’re dead set on a Glock like I am, I think the Hellcat Pro is the way to go

    Maybe it's just me. In the beginning co-witness sight was a factor; however after shooting red dots for a while and with some optic brands providing solar power options and rear sight; co-witness sight becomes irrelevant. I guess each to his own. I'm confident that even if I can't use the optic for whatever reason, if I can see the front sight, I'm still able to hit a target within 7 yards, hence I'm not a slave to iron sight anymore when the optic is readily available at all times.

    • @TrueShotAmmo
      @TrueShotAmmo  2 роки тому +1

      You bring up a good point. I like having co-witness it lower 3rd sights in case the optic were to malfunction or lose zero. This comes from taking multiple classes with and without a dot. I have had a dot fail in class and was point shoot but have the irons to fall back on in case was nice. It's like having a 4x4 knowing most of the time you won't need it but when you do it comes in handy. Poor analogy but I hope you understand what I mean.

I did a lot of research and watch a lot of reviews to make sure the optic that could possibly protect my life will not fail or at least duty certified and mounted to spec. And I get the co-witness thing and for some people it's a necessity. I've competed production iron sights for several years, uspsa and after moving to carry optic, I've never turned back. Red dots provides so much data when shooting and I understand why I was missing shots at iron sights that I believe if new shooters were to begin in red dots they'd be a better shooter at iron sights.

That kind of thinking lead the the early gen 5 glocks to have a big stupid cutout in the front of the grip. With out the Sig P365 XL there may have never been a Hellcat Pro. It was Kel Tec who actually introduced the micro 9 with the Kel Tec 9 in 2006. That was followed by the Ruger LC9 in 2011 and the Smith M&P Shield in 2012. Glock lagged behind not introducing the G43 until 2015. All of these were single stack magazines with 6 to 8 rounds. So don’t give Glock credit for creating the segment. It was Sig that created the new high capacity micro 9 in Jan. 2018. The Glock 43X followed a year later in Jan. 2019. Springfield didn’t introduce the Hellcat until Sep. 2019. By then Sig released the P365XL.

      The segment we are speaking of as mentioned in the video is a compact length grip (Glock 19 Length) slim with 10 plus rounds. We are not saying Glock started the Mirco 9 trend. That was originally Kel-Tec with the P11. Sig brought it back and made it work. So without the 43x there would be no 365XL and no Hellcat Pro.

      Funny you call us Glock fanboys when we all picked the P365XL and Hellcat Pro over the Glock. Also fact Jan 2019 Glock 43x release date. June 2019 Sig P365XL release date. Just slinging facts and dates.

      @@TrueShotAmmo Then Kurt didn’t do a very good job clarifying what he meant. Holding a Glock 43X in his hand, pointing to the 43X and said, “I have to give it to Glock, they, they created this market segment. They were the first to market a gun of this size.” There was no mention of the Glock G19. I would not put the G19 introduced in 1988 as a compact at about 3/4 of the full size G17 into the same segment as the guns you were reviewing. Just to sling a fact and date.
      Glocks were a “game changer” in their day. But other than resizing their guns for emerging market segments, they have not really offered any innovation since the late 1980s. Glock the company are stuck in the past.
      I still stand by my observation that Glock did not create this particular micro carry segment.

      I’ve had them for about a year now and I’ve had no issues at all… I love it because I get that extra without the size. I was worried about failure myself but haven’t had any and haven’t heard anything bad about them.
