After listening to the kidnapping story, I ended up just crying to my partner. That was honestly one of the hardest stories I've ever listened to, because she could have just taken the baby and gotten away with it all because she was a woman and he was a man. The guy got hurt because of it and she just----- left.
He had to watch in torment as he was held down to be kept from getting to his daughter as she's taken away. And if the mom hadn't been there, She (the baby) would be gone.
And something about that shattered my heart.

    • @cyqry
      @cyqry 3 роки тому +24

@@shoom7103 The thing is, they DID call the Police. The kick to the ribs was way out of line but restraining a criminal until Police arrives does more to put them behind bars than simply answering questions... most of the time, Police won't follow up if the crook is gone.
But they should have kept the woman there too and restrained her... she would've screamed just as much as the guy did about it being her kid, but realistically they have no way to tell who was telling the truth.
I'm more pissed off about the fact they just let her walk away... hell, if it weren't for the mother, I'm pretty sure all those guys could have been charged with being complicit to child abduction. Would've learnt a very hard lesson that women can be criminals too.

I agree in this instance. The husband was on the ground at this point, it was totally unnecessary and it came across like the guy was happy to find a chance to be excessively violent in the moment. Add to that none of the people had the sense to insist that the police are on the scene before ANYONE leaves? finally some smart comment about it. Look above. Some of those people... "If i was there, i would use telepathy and would knew right away who`s the bad guy, or in that instance: bad girl"
Same people, who would bitch moan and complain about lack of empathy, if in similar situation nobody would react...
There is awesome example of that somwhere on youtube: woman was riding a metro in London, or something, and some guy was really aggressive toward her. And "she didn`t know what to do, and nobody helped her..."(equality, cunt! Deal with it on your own), until some Eastern European guy helped her- because East of Germany, over here there still are men, who think that helping woamn is a man`s duty, pride and joy... Anyway she basically said something like: i don`t blame that guy, he clearly has some problems, but there were two english men, and they pretended that they see notihng...
So basically she blames two guys, who knew that they can get into trouble, because she`d sue their ass later back into stone age- sexual harassment, or some shit. But the guy who attacked her- that guy is practically INNOCENT in her eyes...
"Oh, yes i got stabbed. I don`t blamethe man, he clearly needed those money for drugs. I blame society"... I hope those people won`t breed
And then everyone is surprised that people don`t want to help, or are confused- who needs help

It's one of the greatest faults of the "mob". "What you see is all there is" is what drives the majority and they don't even think about questioning it. What really pisses me off is how they managed to misconstruct "I have pictures of the baby". Seriously? The first thing any even remotely sensible person in this situation would do is try to present evidence of their parentage - and he gets kicked in the ribs for it? Whoever the assailant was should've definitely been charged for it because that man is, even out of blind foolishness, a danger.

    • @straypaper

Those things happen more often than you'd dare think. In my country, the M.O. is usually the kidnapper making small talk with a child-carrying (preferably lone) parent commuting on a public transport. Once they have enough info (name, age, growth milestones, favorite food/toy) the kidnapper will wait for the next stop/station. Once the vehicle arrived, the kidnapper will casually carry the child RIGHT OFF THEIR PARENT'S OWN ARMS and proceed to try and disembark.
Unfortunately, this M.O. has a startlingly high chance of success, because the parent will either be too shocked/dumbfounded to chase after the kidnapper before the door closes and the vehicle leaves the stop, or try to retrieve their child back only for the kidnapper to cry for help and the real parent will be restrained by the surrounding volunteer. In some cases, the kidnapper will have a partner ready and waiting to pose as the kidnapper's wife/husband to convince the crowd of the child's ownership. The only way to prevent this from happening is by having your husband/wife travel with you and your child (the kidnapper will change target once your wife/husband joins in on the conversation), or by refusing to make small talk (which might make you seem unpleasant, but it's the safer option when you're alone), or a last ditch effort would be to hope your child can recognize their real parent and call out to you (of course this is only applicable if your child is at least 1 year old).
      Travel safe parents.

Also: "A point is reached, however, when someone who intervenes is considered to have assumed a legal duty to act, but the rule and limits have not been tested. "
To me, that means at the point the wife took down the actual kidnapper, they would have been duty bound to stop her as well, not doing so puts everyone in the wrong.
As for assisting in robbery/kidnapping, I can find examples, but none say the aftermath. however, I see nothing in any write-up for assisting someone doing something wrong and the good Samaritan being immune from it in anything other than providing medical care or rescue attempts. At best, I can find that aiding and abetting may not apply to robberies, but nothing on kidnappings.

The tapping one really gets to me-- and now I may need some advice.
Every night when I lay down, sometimes it takes a while, but there's tapping on my window. I stay up late most nights, and it'll start anywhere from 7:30 PM-3:00 AM. I'm extremely paranoid and my anxiety is rough in points like these, so I keep telling myself it's the wind or the storm drain. The most reasonable thing I've come up with is a bird is living in the drain and keeps fluttering its wings. One night I even saw what looked like a person behind my backyard fence. Me and my cousin are very violent people, and we've devised many ways to deal with an attacker, etc. But all of those involve the specific area at my dad's house, and the tapping is at my mom's. Nobody knows what to do. Nobody knows what it is. Our neighborhood is very peaceful, but me and my friends did catch some people in the woods (same one behind my house). There was lot of bottles and stuff on the ground, so I don't know if the person I saw was drunk, or had something to do with the tapping. It's being going on for around a year now, and although nothing's happend yet, the fact that it's still ongoing scares me. I have a way to get out of my room if I ever see anyone from the window again, and I also have plenty of things to use as weapons in my room. (Artists always have sharp pencils lol.) Any advice?

That crossed my mind when I wrote that comment and I just didn't see it turning into a good scenario no matter the outcome, unless it was pulling it on the woman initially and just keeping everyone at bay until the police arrived to square out the deal.

The value in an unsatisfied ending like this is that as a cautionary tale there may be a corrective action to be learned from it. To tie a pretty ribbon on the end of it by saying the kidnapper got caught or killed only serves to give the reader/viewer/listener the false perception that everything will always work out. I had something similar happen to me in the baby story.
I used to have to baby sit my baby cousin. He looks nothing like me since I am asian and he is African (my uncle married a Kenyan woman and my dad married my mom who is asian).
Once I took him to a water park and played with him in the waddling pool since he was only ~2.
My little cousin wanted to go on the slide but he was too small to go on. And like the young brat he is, he made a fuss when I had to get him off the slide. So I picked him up while he was screeching but then one of the lifeguards tried to stop me. She and a bunch of moms yelled at me to let go of the kid. I tried to explain that he was my family member but the life guard kept obnoxiously blowing the whistle not letting me have the chance to speak. I had to just grab my baby cousin and ran. I immediately packed up all the stuff I brought for my baby cousin and tried leaving the water park. While I was packing the life guard kicked me out of the water park. I think by this point she knew I was his caretaker since I had a bag full of spiderman towels and stuff I brought for my cousin. She just wanted me to leave because of the scene that I supposedly made.

@@mpomachine4350 Well, there are women in the world that have it horrible. (Child brides, etc) But yes, there are many, many issues that men have to deal with and as a society we need to stop this nonsense.

Polly Pockets I agree. Personally, I believe all stereotypes need to be dispelled completely. “All men are bad” no, they aren’t. “All women are bad” not true either. There are some situations that people will naturally favor one sex over the other, usually depending on race, sexuality, and position/occupation. It’s easy for anyone to spin something in their favor. Women are in bad situations, men are in bad situations. Both are fact. It sucks that this lady got off so easily because she was able to cry wolf like that.

I want to hear more of these stories. And I feel SOO bad for the people in the last one. They could have LOST THEIR KID and that lady could have done who knows what, and probably did this same thing before😡😰

You definitely don't do something like that if it's your first rodeo. Yikes

I absolutely hate that lady and all of the people there. I can’t even say that they had the right to feel that way just because they didn’t see it all happen. And the police are absolute idiots! I’m not arguing with any of you but honestly I think all of those people should be put in jail for the rest of their lives I’m so mad. I hope they got their baby back. Those skeptical people are absolute idiots for hurting the girl’s husband and actually believing that he was the kidnapper. They should all honestly go do exactly what they did to the dad to themselves because they all deserve it honestly. And the woman who tried to literally kidnap the poor baby should be killed no questions.

I would really like to hear more of these AS LONG AS they end well for the victims. Seriously. That baby kidnapping is absolutely putrid. It’s disgusting that people would give him dirty looks and break his ribs. If you can, tell us what happened to the baby. I hope all of those parking lot people and the kidnapper get in serious trouble and all have to pay heavy fines. Dunno what for, but they all deserve to loose their money just like those people almost lost their baby.

I guess I’m not sleeping tonight then. Watching this past midnight and that first story scared the absolute spirit out of me.

The story about the kid almost being kidnapped is a great example of why I, as a woman, DESPISE cultural stereotypes that favor women as innocent victims and men as aggressive criminals here in the US. They enable female criminals to commit horrible, unspeakable acts, and make it difficult (sometimes impossible) for male victims to get justice, help, and support.
