@@CamSiv996 she fucking sucks as an assassin is what OP is trying to say, she has alot of good skills though and is clearly strong combat wise but, yeah she sucks at her job just like Sock Sowachowski from Welcome to hell.
Yeah. Though it's not just Azula for me, there's also both Goddess Yaga and Princess Franny from Flower Fairy that got me heartbroken after having being built up to be sympathetic yet sacrificed at the end. (though at least it's said that Yaga will be reborn with her sister one day and Franny has a happy ending with Kukuru in at least one reality.) If anything bad ever happens to Claudia, I swear I'm prepared to brutally kill a glitter glue b!t₵h again (yes I am referring to that star elf).
Yes, you can start questioning your life choices when it happens but... more often than not its already too late to turn back when it gets to that point.
I really hope the concept of dark magic gets expanded on. Like how much of it can you do without any long term effects? (callum almost dies but after that he seemed just fine+unlocked the air arcanum) Does it absolutely corrupt you? Claudia seems more on the villainous side in season three but her personality didn't change that much and that doesn't seem to be anything that can't be attributed to her fathers manipulation. It is presented as this dark, tempting force but for me it is just too unclear why it is inheritly evil. For example if eating meat is a thing in the human kingdoms of this world (honestly I don't know), I just don't get how killing the fawn to heal a paralized person is so much worse than just killing and eating it? Honestly a white hair streak and cracking skin + maybe an addiction to now and then to consume some (magic) butterlies wouldn't hold me back from doing the same. I like the idea that you become more and more "evil" and less empathic the longer you use it but I also think that kinda redeems "beeing bad" in the series. Like if you tap into dark magic by accident/force/circumstances (like callum) and just "get evil" its not really your own fault. I like the concept that Viren is a person with extreme opinions and too much power more than he's a good guy that just happened to be corrupted by dark magic.
Soren was kind hearted dumbass after being paralyzed he was happy he does not have to kill Ezran and Callum and the most interesting aspect is his juxtaposition to his sister while Claudia was also kind hearted she was not ready to make a choice between her father and what's right and Soren was able to make that choice since Viren never pretended around him cause he is a dumbass and Soren saw who Viren truly was
I laughed at Soren's stupidity in that scene because I noticed immediately that viren's "little bug pal" was elsewhere and there was no blood on Soren's blade.
It’s honestly sad to watch a kind hearted, devoted character like Claudia to descend further into darkness all for her family. When i saw that her hair started whitening, I genuinely felt sorry for her because she’s letting her immense love for her family take a huge toll on her body.
Not even her family. It’s just Viren. Bet you that after she sees Soren willing to kill their father to protect Ezran, she’ll not hesitate to fight him. And it’s really sad because despite the fact that Viren says she’s his daughter and not a tool, he only uses her like one. It’s clear he’s always favored her and has no problem manipulating her into turning against Soren for his own gain, even if it means hurting his son. The only family who actually was always on her side and loved her for her is on the opposing side and she can’t see that. She can’t see that she’s being manipulated
Claudia is definitely being set up to be a tragic villain: to have someone so sweet and lovable in the first season permanently corrupted because of her father's dubiously motivated campaign to protect Katolis is going to be brilliant and yet heartbreaking. Without a doubt, she will turn fully evil once Viren's permadead and we'll have Azula MK2 on our hands. Yikes.
I mean did she really kill him though? She kind of rescued Zym and sacrificed herself as well. It’s not like she slipped into a castle and cut the Kong’s throat. You know? Also, it’s not like Viren stayed dead thanks to daughter dearest
@@MomsAgainstCatboys yeah. She ran fast into Viren, causing them to both fall. Until Callum, finally figuring out the wing spell while falling, saved her.
I love how this show treats all their characters as human. Viren legit thinks he's doing the right thing but there are moments where he starts to question his actions. You see this as he talks with Aaravos. He does bad out of fear. Claudia does bad out of love of her family. Soren does bad for his dad's approval until he realizes his dad sucks. It's great seeing so much grey area, instead of black and white good and bad. Even King Harold made bad choices. When I think back to when the king told Viren that dark magic was the fault of their problems, I couldn't help but think, "well maybe if you didn't decide to sacrifice your own people to help another kingdom...you wouldn't have to had go into Xadia in the first place." HTTYD - "A chief protects his own." I'm just waiting for Aaravos to dump Viren and go after Caludia. She would make an amazing puppet for him to play with. Those two teaming up is going to be interesting
Viren wants to belive that he is doing everything for the good of humanity. But his hunger for power has always been there and it is getting stronger. Sure he might still be able to convince himself that it is for the good of humanity. But it gets easier with every episode to see what he truly wants which is sheer supernatural power.
Claudia is probably going to be Arovus’s next puppet. If she and Viren were the same age, she’d probably be more powerful than him. Then they could try to redeem Viren by him being pissed about Arovus taking his daughter. Although Claudia’s first motive is always for her family. I am aware I am spelling Arovos wrong.
Although the guy was dark mage he didn't really come off to me as truly evil, just some guy trying to do what he thinks is right. In fact, he was very cooperative with the Dragon king till he learned was tricked. Though it could just be a matter of perspective.
sorenman1 you bring up a good point. A dark evil mage wouldn’t give a damn about thousands of innocent woman and children in at city (I’m talking about the guy that blinded sol regim) he seemed to truly be horrorfied when sol took off to burn the city. And while Viren is a bit power hungry, in the beginning he WAS willing to trade his life for the Kings. It was only the Kong’s acting like an ass making him bow and calling him a servant that needs to see his rightful place that he decided fuck this guy.
I really like how Callum is discovering connections with the other primal magic. Him discovering those connections are almost a mimic of Aang trying to master the elements
There is a big difference, Aang is the only one who possibly could do this, but in the dragon prince, anyone could. Aang already has a connection and just needs mastery, Callum has no connection and needs to learn them from scratch.
I just figured out why Claudia stays with Viren. She wants to do as much Dark Magic Rituals as possible to turn her hair fully white so she looks more like Rayla to have a shot at Callum. It all makes perfect sense now
I think its more that she doesn't know were she belongs but because her father can do dark magic she thinks she has more in common with him than with her brother. But your theory is cool I didn't think of that at first
In the displayed clip, the heel of Crow Master's boots are not dark/black like the toes, his are are light with dark only on the toes. The Boot of the victim's is dark on the toes and heels. I suspect that it is the boot of the Adviser who sided with Viren. He was not turned by Viren and was shown with the army at the final battle. He is disappears like Claudia after the battle and if you look, it is hard to find a good image of his boots, but his appear to be matches to the victim's.
I stand corrected, It may not be the adviser as here was locked in chains after the battle. I still do not think it was the Crow Master, due to the lack of his presence in the army and that it would make sense to keep him back in the kingdom. The victim is likely another person in armor.
@@Staarbiter the shading and colors do not match. I thought it may have been the advisor as we know he is in the area, but he was captured. If you can find evidence that Crow Master traveled with the army then I may believe, but until then it could also be countless other soldiers.
I really do not like the idea that my precious bird boy was sacrificed! I'm sure they would've at least showed him a bit during the battle if that was the case...
Cartoon Universe I highly doubt is the crow master because firstly he is all the way back in Katolis (unless i miss that he went with the army) secondly i believe it was that other king that was with in the battle (Sorry but i cannot remember his name) it would make more sense because he was at close distance and he would be pretty inconsequential character wise because nobody liked him but story wise it would be bad because he was a king so that would damage the human elf peace they are striving for
Same, I think it was the priest that was traveling with them, the one that helped set in motion to free Viren. I took a screenshot of his shoes media.discordapp.net/attachments/134536646258327552/649866020483366922/unknown.png
The Crow Master is precious and I hope he didn't killed off for Claudia to save her Dark Magic user dad Viren! She might have killed one of the corrupted warriors!
I think the foot in the background is a clear indication that persons life was taken for Viren to live. Dark Magic of this power level clearly has an effect on the soul, corrupting it more and more as you continue using Dark Magic. I dont think she is trading her soul for Virens though, just damning herself.
There was enough fast travelling in season 3 that I'm sure it won't matter where characters are anymore. They're right where the show needs them to be for plot reasons.
if you're are going to siege a foreign land that no one has entered in decades... do you really think they wouldn't bring one of the like 3 dudes who knows how to contact the rest of the world?
She sacrificed the priest that helped Viren get the crown since he was also devoted to him. Since the fawn needed to be young because it was going to be used to heal a young man an older life is needed to revive Viren (equivalent exchange FMA style)
Except Dragon Prince Dark Magic is nothing like FMA alchemy. Claudia used the fawn because a young dear represents an ideal symbol of running and jumping and basically everything your legs can do. Viren uses those butterflies to mask his corrupt appearance because they're an ideal representation of appearance. The exchange is far from equivalent. I think it's more likely that a young man was sacrificed for Viren, since an eager young soldier, ready to fight and kill and die for his nation or beliefs or whatever is a strong representation of both life and death.
it wasnt necessary, the only way Claudia could resurrect and mend the broken body of her father was to take a life, the boot in the background is just a confirmation
This is why I think Claudia will he the human Big Bad, she is willing to do WHATEVER it takes to keep her family intact and she sees it as pure good while her father knows he's manipulative and probably not on the good side. Claudia will blindly follow orders from her father and probably from Aaravos once he shows up since he "helped" the humans.
I like the execution of how Dark Magic in "The Dragon Price" series results in a noticeable change to the individual's appearance, while not outright twisting the magic user into a monster. (Although, apparently that's on the table seeing as a whole army got turned into seemingly mindless fire zombies.) The correlation between white hair and magic is a pretty old trope, especially in regards to a female character that has a dark streak in regards to their actions. X-Men's Rogue comes to mind. The expanding portion of Claudia's hair turning white, in the context of a world with dragons, particularly reminds me of "The Dragonrealm" book series. It's been a while since I read the series, but I recall one of the protagonists being a magic user who's hair turned more or less white depending on their magic use. Though in the case of The Dragonrealm, this is more of an indicator of magical prowess than "corruption" as a result of using an "evil" magic. I look forward to seeing how Claudia's character develops. Claudia is set up to get slammed with psychological trauma after trauma on top of what she has already gone through in a relatively short period of time. She was clearly on good terms with Callum, edging towards a romantic relationship. With Callum now in a relationship with Rayla, Rayla being an Elf (which Claudia still believes to be evil having been raised and indoctrinated by her father / human society), and Rayla being the person who killed Viren (along with Callum actively not saving Viren). And going even further, her own brother betrayed her / stood by the side of Callum, Ezran, and the Elves. And-and Aaravos is clearly manipulating Viren and Claudia towards his own ends, having mentioned to Viren that Claudia would "be useful to him (Viren) later." causing Viren to actively manipulate her to keep her by his side and disregard Soren solely because she is a competent dark magic user. I'd be surprised if Claudia doesn't completely lose it and become an actively evil character. Currently, she still possesses an air of naivete and innocence, with an attitude of "magic is worth any price as long as I use it for the right reason and it gets the job done." It would only take a small change in her state of mind to alter that logic to, "If it gets the job done, using magic is the right thing to do, and any magic I use is worth the price because I must be doing the right thing."
one of my favorite fan theories is that like how dark magic changes one’s appearance, so does primal magic, and that elves and humans evolved from the same species.
Now I think of it, the first time claudia did that spell on soren, she killed 1 life, a fawn, to heal sorens injuries, at the end of season 3, she grew more than just 1 white streak of hair after reviving viren, making me wonder just how many times did she try reviving him or how many bodies did she kill in order for her spell to work?
My reaction to the ending part of episode 9: Before this scene: WTF? They're gonna end the story here? Wasn't there supposed to be 6 seasons (7 probably)? I didn't even see the Ocean or Earth elves (Callum doesn't count). After this scene: So... you're gonna make me wait for another 6 months, aren't you, Netflix? (Seriously, each season is way too small.)
The only thing missing from the final episodes was any reaction out of any humans that Callum can do primal magic, just, no reaction, skipped telling or showing anyones reactions, he literally performed the last breath spell on Soren midscene but no dialogue acknowledges the fact that Soren doesn't know he can do primal magic, and he doesn't ask about why he could suddenly breath when he couldn't before half the way down
I imagine reviving someone also requires a great deal of emotional connection--be it from the mage (and only the mage) or maybe it could be extracted from another like Harrow and his undying hatred.
The crow master is unlikely. They would of left him back in the castle and with would of taken to long to go and get him. She likely would of gone for someone closer then him for what ever reason she might have against him.
Agreed also in the displayed clip, the heel of Crow Master's boots are not dark/black like the toes, his are are light with dark only on the toes. The Boot of the victim's is dark on the toes and heels. I suspect that it is the boot of the Adviser who sided with Viren. He was not turned by Viren and was shown with the army at the final battle. @@vash3055 That's a good theory. I never really look to much at their footwear, so I assumed it was a random soldier. I guess that depends on if she could use the modified soldiers for necromancy or not. Granted he would be easier to catch then those fire monsters.
i don't think it was him, the foot wear doesn't exactly match.... but you're suggesting that a giant army marching in basically unknown land is going to just ignore bringing someone who can do the critical task of.... being able to communicate with the rest of the world. the crow masters for each different city and their apprentices would be the few people capable of communicating quickly over long distances, it would be stupid to think that they would just leave the one dude with their equivalent to a cellphone at home.
@@NoESanity It could be that armies have someone else who do that while the crow master stays behind and maintains the crows, since the crow lord is often not around.
What’s really sad about Claudia is how she justifies dark magic. Generally, she’s convinced that it’s the only way to be extraordinary which was debunked by Callum at the end of season 2. Also I think she doesn’t know who she is without either dark magic or her father. Soren gave her a chance to leave and she chose to stay. Yes she was asking Soren not to make her choose however either way in her mind she had chosen Viren over Soren. It’s easier for her to go on this path than walking away and thinking for herself. Watching this scene made me feel she’ll be just as dangerous as Viren in S4 if not more dangerous.
I am wondering if she didn't use one of his moonelf coins could it be rahya's father, mother, her superior or another nameless soul in verin's coin purse
@@mapocapo9850 now I wonder if verin is still human or if he is going to be a zombie or vampire of some kind...we saw that he absorbs life from butterflies, I could naturally see him jumping up a few levels to stay alive after this.
@@yami6259 maybe but I don't think so. I think Claudia did a pretty good job at resurrecting him, I don't think he'll need more life. And he didn't turn himself into a burning thingie before so I don't see him trying to change his nature for power on purpose. We'll see.
I think dark magic is an amalgamation of all types of magic. Aaravos seemed to know and utilize multiple types of magic, and the Key Of Aaravos is literally a box with all six magic types. So maybe the reason why Callum can use Sky magic is because of something like magical separation. Like when you take apart the different kinds of metals in an alloy and dark magic is the alloy. He literally used dark magic, had some visions( the power of star elves, which is what Aaravos is, is foresight or visions) then learned Sky Magic because the sky part got ripped out.
i really hate the overused tropes that using "unsavory" methods has to have a detrimental effect on the user ... i very much prefer when the "dark magic" is just a tool to be used- dangerous and using disturbing methods but a tool nonetheless... which is why my D&D mages and sorcerers are usually necromancers and in lets say Dragon Age i dont think twice about using Blood magic ... while being the champion of the people and saving innocents and punishing evil left and right ...
I just finished dragon prince (late to the party I know). I'm really sad that Claudia is so attached to her father. She has good in her but was taught wrong. She's naive and values family. So it's sad to see that she's only loyal to her father because of her past.
There is another possibility - using dark magic rips your spirit apart. The idea isn't new, it was used in Harry Potter, of course. As Voldemort kept ripping his soul via murders, his appearance became less human, much like Viren's (who also kills to perform dark magic). After Callum used dark magic he had a stand-off against himself, which may be another evidence in favor of ripping yourself apart theory.
here's a theory : Claudia will be the main villian, Aarovos will ditch Viren and Claudia will become his new little toy . the coccoon will turn into Aarovos himself , then he will become even more dangerous, and claudia will finally grow a few brain cells and realise that her father is using her, but i dont think that'll happen any time soon *Edit: plz let Rayla and Callum get married and have kids*
I had the same assumption regarding the whole 'Claudia murdered someone resurrect her dad' theory but assuming it IS Crow Master, that would mean she literally had to go hunt for someone. Like did she even hesitate this time? What was her thought process? Was she even horrified at her actions? Clearly Claudia is an 'ends justify the means' sort.
My personal opinion is that she is slowly killing herself. Think about it, viren has been doing dark magic presumably for most of his life so it makes sense that he would look the way he looks. Claudia on the other hand has been doing impossible feats. Viren doesn't seem to be drained because he hasn't done things that are nearly impossible. Claudia brought someone back from the dead and fixed Soren's body when he was crippled. Again, Viren isn't slowly killing himself because he isn't doing the impossible. Claudia is so she is slowly dying.
I reckon it will be something more monstrous. He seems to be separate from the creature. He just controls it and uses it to channel his power while he's stuck in the mirror.
I think the cacoon will be some kind of moth dragon (big/dragon) thing for Aaravos to continue to communicate through but now also defend itself. He is still trapped in the mirror pocket dimension/prison and doesn’t know where exactly he is to get out. But I’m sure Zim’s mom will explain the mirror and how aaravos was banished there by Zim’s father the late Dragon King. Or Rayla’s parents will explain what happened through flashback once the moon elves are freed from Viren’s coins.
Here's the thing... Dark Magic can be very powerful. In the wrong hands or with proper manipulation, it's very addictive... so even if Claudia did try to come back, she's already as good as gone. She does not deserve what her father is putting her through.
I believe that even with all the spells Claudia performs the darkest which turn her hair white will not affect her pure heart, I believe her purification will not be severe nor will it see darkness in her because she did it for a good reason she believes in with all her heart, and maybe in the next seasons we see her pure of heart and then something bad happens and she freaks out with anger or vengeance that she does become like her father, even Verin couldn't resurrect any important person like the queen who sacrificed her life for him, but claudia is much more powerful or threatening than her father that she would be a more dedicated villian
Claudia is so sad. Booksmart, kind, yet very naive and simplistic in her worldview. I honestly find it heartbreaking about how her destiny down a dark path is basically sealed because of how much she cannot deal with losing people important to her. She's sort of a dark foil to Callum and Ezran in how she deals with grief and loss. Sadder is that she still made her choice even after someone younger than her, Ezran, showed her how he managed to deal with his loss.
The person used to revive Viren is definitely the priest/high council guy. The one person other than Claudia and Viren that were not changed into the sun monsters
Speaking of dark magic needing primal energy, Viren is seen using the butterflies throughout the show. This may seem normal, but dark magic only needs life to work, not sustain itself. Also, why would he be hiding it, as literally everyone in the kingdom is okay with sacrificing butterflies for dark magic? Thus, I suspect that Viren is using dark magic constantly to either shapeshift or to hide something about his appearance.
Formation 13 ok but in the first and second season it is explained that primal magic can only be taken form a living being with it. Dark magic is use with animals which some sort of primal. Magic to use
@@coverphantom8655 Speaking of. How about the theory that Callum is only able to use sky magic because he stole it from the creature he used for dark magic. It even makes sense with the dream, as the dark magic appears on the key of Aaravos in place of a normal rune, symbolising it replacing one of them. It would makes sense as to why Sol Regem smells death on him, as he can tell what appears to be sky magic is really dark magic in disguise. It would also be poetic, as Ezran and Callum would mirror Harrow and Viren.
I bet Viren still had a lot of Zim’s life-force attached to him (even after he was dead) and Claudia used that. Both Aravos and Viren absorbed a lot of energy it seems.
While everyone points out the hair I noticed her eyes. Both times her eyes become black and don’t seem to fade away. With her dad, his black eyes only faded when he was no longer being given the dark power. There maybe a point when her eyes remain black. When this happens it could be a sign that her mind has become empty. No longer will she be able to think for herself. I have a feeling Mr. sexy dark elf wants this to happen. Then he can use her like a mindless powerful zombie. Being still ‘young and agile’ (words she used to describe the deer) the dark Elf will get a long use out of her then he can with her father.
Viren probably knew about it too, but it wouldn't help stop the elf assassins. Xadia needed to see King Harrow dead. Bringing him back to life would only mean the elves would have to make a return trip. The point in switching bodies would be that Harrow would appear dead, but live on as king in another body. Possibly, the crown would go to Ezran, but Harrow would secretly still be king by serving as regent in a new body.
I think that viren's staff has something to do with it. he is only affected very subtly by his magic and the change is temporary, as with the other dark mage who blinded sol regum, so I think the staff might siphon almost all the dark magic into the mage's surroundings instead of allowing it to eat away at his/her soul. without the staff, Claudia is being destroyed by the powerful spells. it explains everything but the body in the backround of the resurrection scene.
I have an idea about the price of using dark magic which is based on a few assumptions. 1 In at least one fantasy franchise I know of, magic has been described as a weave or fabric. I think the same holds true in the Dragon Prince. 2 Death, even violent death, is a natural part of life. To this end, a magical creature can be killed without harming this weave of magic, but ripping out its life force to power a spell can. 3 The belief that humans had no connection with the magical weave was wrong. It's just not as strong as it is with elves and dragons. I think that whenever someone in the Dragon Prince cast a spell using dark magic, they are damaging the weave and, because of their connection with the weave, themselves.
Callum is the future of human mages. Humans are not born with an arcanum, but are able to tap into any and all of them. The very hard part is learning the essence of the arcanum.
@@k9commander thing is, its not a new concept, we see Aaravos use several types of primal magic so i assume he mastered all of them and was probably the one who gave the staff Viren uses to the humans. I cant wait to see what he will do when he learns Callum is mastering the primal magic too...
Not sure if anyone else has noticed this. But Dark Magic here is kinda similar to using the Dark Side of the Force in Star Wars. Both corrupts the body in various ways. Though the power source is different, being a life and a few other things in The Dragon Prince, and more often being strong "Dark" emotions like rage, fear hate and anger in Star Wars.
The term dark magic is just Dragon-Elvish propaganda. The dragons couldn’t handle humans attaining power so they braided it dark magic. You can tell because of the way that dragon talks to the first dark magic practitioner they say humans is below them as creatures to be crushed. Ironic
I wonder when the show will introduce Light Magic. Instead of forcibly taking the life force of other creatures to power spells, a Light Mage would ASK for it.
Good theory just one thing to collaborate the former dragon king (the blind one) said to calum that he could smell the blood on him, impling that he knows that Calum used dark magic , and it was the same thing that he said to the first dark mage.
But its explained that Dark Magic does not harness the 'life force' so much as it harness the 'Arcanum' natural to all creatures except humans. All magic requires Arcanum, they just get it from different sources. In a way, Using dark magic by sacrificing a human is the only sacrifice that wouldn't work.

Yikes.
But azula had a redemption arch in the comic series 😅

Aaravos:It is cute that you two think you are running the show here
I love how this show treats all their characters as human. When I think back to when the king told Viren that dark magic was the fault of their problems, I couldn't help but think, "well maybe if you didn't decide to sacrifice your own people to help another kingdom...you wouldn't have to had go into Xadia in the first place." HTTYD - "A chief protects his own."
I'm just waiting for Aaravos to dump Viren and go after Caludia. She would make an amazing puppet for him to play with. Those two teaming up is going to be interesting
Erm... King Harrow.
@@chartreusephoenix6581 spoilers, this aged well since Viren has begun a redemption arc.
Claudia is definitely gonna be the main bad guy at the end of the series. Her hair looks like the guy who created dark magic.
Although the guy was dark mage he didn't really come off to me as truly evil, just some guy trying to do what he thinks is right. In fact, he was very cooperative with the Dragon king till he learned was tricked. Though it could just be a matter of perspective.
maybe
sorenman1 you bring up a good point.

If you look at the crow master’s model and put it next to the image it’s very similar

I hope they manage to save claudia from this path. She and her brother have good hearths, but they were being missled by their father.
Claudia's Dark Magic is loosing her own soul for her father. Dark Magic takes a full time sacrifice to resurrect from the dead.
I think the foot in the background is a clear indication that persons life was taken for Viren to live. Dark Magic of this power level clearly has an effect on the soul, corrupting it more and more as you continue using Dark Magic. I dont think she is trading her soul for Virens though, just damning herself.
I believe the crow master is.....aaaaaaaa....bit far from her reach .
You know...one is in xadia the other one in katolis
There was enough fast travelling in season 3 that I'm sure it won't matter where characters are anymore. They're right where the show needs them to be for plot reasons.
if you're are going to siege a foreign land that no one has entered in decades... do you really think they wouldn't bring one of the like 3 dudes who knows how to contact the rest of the world?
@@magikot i think its the priest that helps viren gets the throne. He came to the battlefield but didnt get changed to monsters.
I think Clauds killed him to revive Viren. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Yeah
She sacrificed the priest that helped Viren get the crown since he was also devoted to him. Since the fawn needed to be young because it was going to be used to heal a young man an older life is needed to revive Viren (equivalent exchange FMA style)
Nah, you see him in chains getting carted off after the battle. my guess is she just lured some poor soldier away and necked him.
I think Claudia explains it perfectly herself: “you don’t need magic, you just find something else that has it... and SQUEEZE IT OUT OF THEM!”
*''No no, they have a point.''*
*Used they instead of he because I don't know what you are.*
"The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural." That pretty much sums up the nature of Claudia's magic.
I didn't notice the boot 😶
Neither did I
it wasnt necessary, the only way Claudia could resurrect and mend the broken body of her father was to take a life, the boot in the background is just a confirmation
(Although, apparently that's on the table seeing as a whole army got turned into seemingly mindless fire zombies.)
The correlation between white hair and magic is a pretty old trope, especially in regards to a female character that has a dark streak in regards to their actions.
Claudia: There has to be something here!
Me: No stop that's my hot brown morning potion-
one of my favorite fan theories is that like how dark magic changes one’s appearance, so does primal magic, and that elves and humans evolved from the same species.
I'm so glad I wasn't the only person to spot that boot in the background. The second I saw it I was like "oooh yeah she aint coming back from this"

Same, I had hope for her, but she just gets worse with every season. A part of me still does have hope for her, though...
My reaction to the ending part of episode 9:
Before this scene: WTF? They're gonna end the story here? Wasn't there supposed to be 6 seasons (7 probably)? I didn't even see the Ocean or Earth elves (Callum doesn't count).
After this scene: So... you're gonna make me wait for another 6 months, aren't you, Netflix? (Seriously, each season is way too small.)
*Almost a year to be corrected! But I think season 4 will be good because of it- lol.*
Getting onto two years now
The only thing missing from the final episodes was any reaction out of any humans that Callum can do primal magic, just, no reaction, skipped telling or showing anyones reactions, he literally performed the last breath spell on Soren midscene but no dialogue acknowledges the fact that Soren doesn't know he can do primal magic, and he doesn't ask about why he could suddenly breath when he couldn't before half the way down
I imagine reviving someone also requires a great deal of emotional connection--be it from the mage (and only the mage) or maybe it could be extracted from another like Harrow and his undying hatred.
I think she gave half of her life

I think dark magic is an amalgamation of all types of magic.
Aaravos seemed to know and utilize multiple types of magic, and the Key Of Aaravos is literally a box with all six magic types.
So maybe the reason why Callum can use Sky magic is because of something like magical separation. Like when you take apart the different kinds of metals in an alloy and dark magic is the alloy. He literally used dark magic, had some visions( the power of star elves, which is what Aaravos is, is foresight or visions) then learned Sky Magic because the sky part got ripped out.
I think necromancy has another price, it's like poison to the caster.
i really hate the overused tropes that using "unsavory" methods has to have a detrimental effect on the user ... i very much prefer when the "dark magic" is just a tool to be used- dangerous and using disturbing methods but a tool nonetheless...
which is why my D&D mages and sorcerers are usually necromancers and in lets say Dragon Age i dont think twice about using Blood magic ... while being the champion of the people and saving innocents and punishing evil left and right ...
She’s giving me some serious Azula vibes.
my favorite part: (pans across screen)"...and netflix better give me a 4th season!" i feel ya' girl.
Just so you know, netflix IS renewing the dragon prince for a whole 7 season series!
"Another season? Here, have the whole Saga green lit!" -Netflix
here's a theory : Claudia will be the main villian, Aarovos will ditch Viren and Claudia will become his new little toy . the coccoon will turn into Aarovos himself , then he will become even more dangerous, and claudia will finally grow a few brain cells and realise that her father is using her, but i dont think that'll happen any time soon
*Edit: plz let Rayla and Callum get married and have kids*
Man I hope Crow Master isn’t dead. He’s adorable... 🥺
When they went to Xadia she took one of those fluffy creatures. Maybe that is what brought her father back from the dead

"STAY DEAD" my first reaction to the illusion stabbing :((
Claudia goes from BAE to Hated in one season, sad for her.
I wonder if the last sacrifice she makes will be to save Callum
I havent finished the video yet but good lord I HAD NOT noticed the foot sticking out back there...
Soren did say Claudia is changing. It's the dark magic indeed
I am almost sure that the star elf forgot his name is going to come out of the cacoon
Aaravos, and fun fact, he's the star elf in the beginning of the story narrating the intro
Yeah I know that I was like wait what when I found out
I reckon it will be something more monstrous.
How come when someone mentally deteriorates in a kids show it’s always a teenage girl
Azula, Catra, now Claudia
Claudia is so sad. Booksmart, kind, yet very naive and simplistic in her worldview. I honestly find it heartbreaking about how her destiny down a dark path is basically sealed because of how much she cannot deal with losing people important to her. She's sort of a dark foil to Callum and Ezran in how she deals with grief and loss. Sadder is that she still made her choice even after someone younger than her, Ezran, showed her how he managed to deal with his loss.
I do have a theory that Callum and Claudia are going to fight each other each using their respective form of magic. Dark magic versus arcane magic
The person used to revive Viren is definitely the priest/high council guy. The one person other than Claudia and Viren that were not changed into the sun monsters
If you think abut it dark magic needs primal energy so she may not have killed a human but an elf
Either way, that is likely not a pretty way to go for the one being used as a reagent.
oh yea didnt think of that! i think you're right
Speaking of dark magic needing primal energy, Viren is seen using the butterflies throughout the show.
Netflix wont only give you a season 4, but a season 7
While everyone points out the hair I noticed her eyes. Both times her eyes become black and don’t seem to fade away. With her dad, his black eyes only faded when he was no longer being given the dark power. There maybe a point when her eyes remain black. When this happens it could be a sign that her mind has become empty. No longer will she be able to think for herself. I have a feeling Mr. sexy dark elf wants this to happen. Then he can use her like a mindless powerful zombie. Being still ‘young and agile’ (words she used to describe the deer) the dark Elf will get a long use out of her then he can with her father.
Claudia: I have a spell to bring back the dead.
Viren: Not now dear, so King Harrow, how about those soul switching snakes?
Viren probably knew about it too, but it wouldn't help stop the elf assassins. Xadia needed to see King Harrow dead. Bringing him back to life would only mean the elves would have to make a return trip. The point in switching bodies would be that Harrow would appear dead, but live on as king in another body. Possibly, the crown would go to Ezran, but Harrow would secretly still be king by serving as regent in a new body.
Calling it now, she used the minister that allied with Viren to bring him back.
This show gives me something to look forward too, especially the fourth season that we are all waiting on. . .

I really want to see Claudia &Viran reaction to Callum using primal magic.
She has potential for a redemtion arc but at the same time becoming a full blown villain I love her Character through the series
So, Claudia drain the life of an elf....or the bug pal tell her how to drain life from him to Viren, after all they have drink half zim
You actually dont need much to do dark magic spells. Claudia even said you can do some powerful spells with dragon boogers.
I think that whenever someone in the Dragon Prince cast a spell using dark magic, they are damaging the weave and, because of their connection with the weave, themselves.
i want to see how is callum able to do magic without a construct
Callum is the future of human mages. Humans are not born with an arcanum, but are able to tap into any and all of them. The very hard part is learning the essence of the arcanum.
Callum was able to do sky magic when he woke from his dark magic induced sleep.
@@k9commander thing is, its not a new concept, we see Aaravos use several types of primal magic so i assume he mastered all of them and was probably the one who gave the staff Viren uses to the humans. I cant wait to see what he will do when he learns Callum is mastering the primal magic too...
Are u guys gonna review this season
Not sure if anyone else has noticed this. But Dark Magic here is kinda similar to using the Dark Side of the Force in Star Wars. Both corrupts the body in various ways. Though the power source is different, being a life and a few other things in The Dragon Prince, and more often being strong "Dark" emotions like rage, fear hate and anger in Star Wars.
I love The Dragon Prince!
Me too
I can't wait more seasons to come
Same! 😃
The term dark magic is just Dragon-Elvish propaganda. The dragons couldn’t handle humans attaining power so they braided it dark magic. You can tell because of the way that dragon talks to the first dark magic practitioner they say humans is below them as creatures to be crushed. Ironic
It's dark because it takes them killing something to do it. That's not propaganda. It's truth. The primal magic doesn't require a sacrifice to use.
