  • Traditional Kyoto doll maker, Sekihara Shiko, tells her story about taking over her family's doll making tradition and introducing this traditional Japanese culture to the world with her exhibitions in Europe. We visit Sekihara in her workshop and at her Spring 2012 exhibition in Kyoto.

    Amazing. Simply amazing. I wish we had a doll artisan schooled in traditional Japanese style here. I bought an antique doll and her hair is a disaster.

    Beautiful dolls...now I know what the hair of my doll is made of and in the end of the video it says Kyoto Market so it seems one can buy dolls there.

    i have a girl child , her age is 7 , shes name is Arijita , she always wants a this Doll in her birthday and X'mas , but here local market i dont get it , so she always crying and pride for it
