Bharatanatyam recital that recreates in graceful movement, this beseeching call to Lord Muruga by Papanasam Sivan in his composition ‘Kaa Vaa Vaa’ in Varali ragam set to Adi talam. Performed here to the IndianRaga production of this haunting melodious prayer, the recital depicts two girls who dress up, adorn their hair with flowers and await the arrival of Lord Muruga. Following the lyrics of the song, they describe Muruga who has six faces, is seated on a peacock, holds a spear and protects his devotees. Through elegant Nritta, intertwined with Bhakti, they depict the preparation of the temple for his arrival as, together, they light lamps, offer puja, and decorate the sculptures with flower garlands. They address Muruga, “‘O handsome one, wielder of the mighty spear, who resides on the hill of Pazhani, please come to protect me’ …. And he finally appears.
This traditional, devotional Bharatanatyam piece has been choreographed and performed by Sophia Salingaros and Isha Parupudi.

Even dresses were better in Vahana Alirappu, here Parupudi's dress slightly malfunctioned at the end as ut was entangling in her feet.

As the intention of indianraga is to bring out more interesst on traditional dance items i feel that if you explain the meaning or the main idea of the song that would create more interest towards the song as a fellow classical Dancer i felt that 😊

Carnatic mix is the presentation of a ragam or song with a twist of western touch, Whereas jathi or more prominently known as Solkattu, the bundle of words in a specific rhythm again with a western touch could be called as mix.

Moumita Dan The goal is indeed to showcase a variety of indian classical arts by youth, but this channel showcases the work of those who apply for their fellowship. I don’t think it operates like a TV channel that sources content to earn more from subscription/ads. Perhaps, if your interest is Kathak your group should apply and add to the Kathak content. It could be very educational and enjoyable for a lot of people.
Btw, the bharathanatyam pieces are not all the same kind.
As a viewer I really got bored of seeing only bharatnatyam dance except few pieces of kathak. It is not logical that I should know everything about the dance form I am not interested in. So , I think you should reply to your viewers according to the wish of their liking dance form. We are Indians and always want to see Indians in our classical dance form. We don't bother about the subscription ads of your channel. Thank you
