Loving your video Kulisi! My mum is 1 of 10 who was borne in Haafeva. Just showed your vid to my 94 year old grandma ... who grew up in Haafeva! It’s made her day seeing some of the old folk, the streets, sights and way of life. Pulu whom you showed is her brother in law. Malo & ofa atu from Wellington NZ
I’m proud of you Chris! Way to explain our island ways and being a proud American and Tongan! Ha’apai kiai! I’m from Felemea/Tongoleleka in Pangai, Ha’apai! Super proud of it-as you know and understand.
Beautiful video, My mum is Tongan (her Dad/my grandfather) Nakolo/Ha'sini and (her Mum/my Grandma) Fua'motu - Tonga Tapu and back in the day this is how life was there but so much changed, ppl put fences up neighbours not the same etc. I prefer smaller islands and villages because I now as an adult I can see the beauty in being small and staying small. Your Tongan btw is excellent, malo au'pito toko!
Love the video. I was born in Tungua in . A neighbouring island. Have nt been back for over 30 years. Video brought back faint memories. Hopefully I get back there again.

One of the best videos I have seen about one of Tonga's Island. My great, great,great...... grandmother is from Ha'afeva. I have never seen Ha'afeva in my life or Ha'apai. She went from Ha'afeva and got married to Kolomotu'a highest chief. I am one of her great, great, great....grandson. Thank you for the great video. I hope you go back and do a 2 hour video on Ha'afeva again. Thanks again.
Thank you so much for this video. My dad is from haafeva and we have a big family that come from there sadly there isn’t many that are left in tonga as most of my family live abroad but it’s my dream to visit haafeva one day see where my dad is from.

Malo e Kulisi hono faita'I 'ae ki'I motu fkofo'ofa ko Ha'afeva. I also served there in the mid 80's but on the island of 'O'ua .. We had our zone leaders living on Ha'afeva. When there was a zone meeting, a conference, or an incoming storm our zone leaders would come pick us up on the missionary boat called the Moroni then we would circle around the Lulunga groups of islands and pick up the other missionaries in our zones then we would head back to Ha'afeva. It was an unforgettable time in my life. The Ha'afeva chapel was still under construction. The chapel was constructed of bricks. Yah I remember that ship wreck you talked about. Thanks again for the video Tokoua.Ofa atu Kevini Maumau
