    One of the hardest things to do is walk away from a coin or collectable you really want because the price isn't right great video, thanks. Subbed

    I suspect a hundred year old silver coin should have some toning! Blast Wight? Probably dipped!

    Very nice . . as always. The "white board" will start to set you apart from the 50-100 local-yokels doing coin vids. Truly innovative and shows how well you consider the purchases.

    Toned coins can be artificially toned. My real sterling can exhibit the same tone colors, I have a fork with purple tines- I call it my $400 dollar fork.( I use it every day) i think you could pay 2 or 3 times for a color toned coin and it could turn black or change to less desirable color in a short period of time. I do not think the tone is permanent- I would rather have blast white because you can see the detail of the mintage better. PCGS and NGC will not guarantee a tone or color very long, if you live in an area where there is sulfur or other elements in the water it will cause toning, keep you coins away from the kitchen or bathroom or humid places.

      Thanks for your comment, we have a large collection of antique trophies in our home that are sterling silver. They tone like your mighty fork.

    I prefer the blast white examples of silver coins over the toned coins. Man, that Walker is a BEAUTY!! I can see why you wanted to buy it!

    the aim of the game is to have an eye for all coins, to cherry pick and source decent good fair coins to grade,,, even fine to E/F is a decent grade for pre 33 or older say hammered english coins, early milled are becoming very very popular. i have a neat and tidy example of an american large headress eagle 10 dollar gold coin i picked up raw. also the designer dollar set(designer) type 1 and 2 silver. great video on the slq's,,,,very similar to britania effigy.

    That Walking Lib Half - w/but a 6, for the grade - makes one wonder: what does it take to get a 7 or 8 (since it already looks to be nearly at perfection). Thanks for the video. Informative.

    Thats an absolutely beauty of a walker. I prefer mine to have a little color. Have a few with crescents and one with nice lilac purple and blue. Toned walkers don't come around every day so if I see a nice one I tend to get excited.

    SLQ's are my thing!! I have a complete set all 37 in various grades from F12 my 1927-S to my 1917-D T1 MS64FH all graded PCGS and NGC but the king 1916 is in NGC VF30 but most are high AU and MS. The 1917-D T2 you got a score because current GS and PCGS price guide value it a $2000.00 so that a 400.00 window to work with. 1175.00 for a 1923-S in 40 is 1310.00 and this looks CAC sticker worthy and they go for 1500.00 and up. 2 good scores on to very nice coins. If I didn't have a 1923-S in AU53 (2100.00-2300.00) I would have snatched it up. Like you I have always liked a coin then look at what its trading and selling and also getting when being sold. Price guide then GS then auction and every time I pull the trigger on a coin I have never overpaid because I do the homework and also look at coins futures like on a stock market and SLQ's keep going up and loved. beautiful coins

  • @tylonnplatinumthe3rd659
    @tylonnplatinumthe3rd659 2 роки тому

    Also you use many of the same methods to place a value on the coin. I do all the research through the archives and then factor that against the coins eye appeal to determine the premium or deductions on the value. Then I bid or offer below that price say 10%~20%. Most of the times I lose or have the offer rejected but if you do it enough you can get some great scores that way

      We try to focus on the coins that the dealer has a gap in knowledge on. For example if they are a Franklin half dollar expert then we could find some possible deals within the Morgan dollars he offers.
