I havent tried sf6 yet, what makes him strong at mid range?
He's also really good on offense (honestly some of the best mixup in the game) and good defense with OD Amnesia. Character is crazy.

Its bit soon for concrete idea how good every character really is at this point of the game, meta still will be evolving overtime. Like most ppl think kimberley is mid low tier and zangief also low tier. But both got 1st place and 5th place in stacked torunament in japan few days ago.
my dude the game has been out 90+ days I think we know what the meta is at this point ; JP is king and everybody else is 2ndary

His JP is no where near as oppressive as Kakeru's or Nemo's.
PLEASE, if ANYONE here thinks that JP is not S Tier, PLEASE SPEAK OUT!!! I would really like to hear the opinion of someone who thinks the opposite (different) from everyone else. Someone tries to understand the game and notices things, exaggerations and mistakes from other players when evaluating characters. Speak up if you think differently than all FGC members

JP is S Tier in the hands of lab monsters. In a regular players hands he's just another zoner
Nah, he's still extremely annoying to fight even against an average JP. An actual good player that uses JP, good luck.
@@saado99 that actually depends on what character your using. Some have fireballs and some have better ways to get in than others
Nope lol, his fireballs do more damage and pierce so he wins fireball wars vs other zoners, his normals are incredibly good if you manage to get in on him, at any point on his wakeup you can take 40% and be full screen if you guess wrong. Character is the most poorly designed character in sf6 by a mile lmao.
@@lukeblaker8009 I throw Sonic booms all day at JP and win. His fireballs don't pierce unless you use meter and you can trade you if he uses ground spike so if you have life lead just keep trading. You're also acting like he has the best normals in the game which he doesn't so don't over hype him while Luke, Dee Jay, Juri and Ken are still in the game

I think everyone is in the same boat. Nobody realized how oppressive JP truly is, but in fairness the stuff people did with JP week 1 and now is night and day. In my mind that character is busted and an absolute nuisance and beyond annoying to fight.

He lost to guile at EVO thats the only reason he changed his mind!
He also lost to Guile at Masters8 (to Nuckledu).
Even before then though, while he was practicing for EVO, he got a few pros to help him practice FT10 with the chars he didn't know much about.
He fought Kakeru on JP, Fenritti on JP, Higuchi on Guile, Fuudo on Dhalsim, etc.
And Daigo got washed ofc every single time. Especially by Kakeru and Higuchi. Score was like 10-1 or 10-3 or something almost every time.
That must have made him re-evaluate JP and Guile, even before EVO.

JP is strong. But, he's a high skill character, specially when on defense. Meaning you need a lot of match up experience to effectively make use of his defensive tools like amnesia or universal tool like P. parry. Bcoz, you can't just keep throwing it out when you're getting pressured or you get baited and eat a CH full combo that eats up half your HP.
Same can be said with any character really...
And JP has more tools for defence than any other characters.😅
Rashid struggles with damage. You have to mix up a lot and play super offensively to get any where with him
Rashit had his moments for the entire life of SF5. No need to even make him decent in SF6.

That's what everyone said during season 1 of SFV yet the character still fucked people up and managed to stay Top 5. Dont sleep on this character again cause of damage....thats like saying valkenhein from blazblue needs a damage buff. Like come on, you want a character eho is capable of mad offense and mixups to have high damage as well??? Y'all greedy af.
