And here are some great examples of music using a guitar similar to this:
• Phoebe Bridgers - Gard...
• Madison Cunningham - L...

There is something very special about an innovation that brings a new sound out of an instrument so familier. Thanks for sharing.
Totally agree! I love it mostly cause it's different
Not for me, i love the ring and sing of bone bridge
@jimthompson2315 I get it. Thanks for sharing.
sounds like a muted nylon string guitar and i like it
You are where Hendrix was when he tired of the " normal" sound of his guitar. he started experimenting with high volumes and different different concepts of music which eventually ended in Electric Ladyland, carry on
Seems like it is a pretty good guitar to bring on vacation with you.
I have one of these love the feel! It is REALLY BASSY in the DAW. Any tips to kind of tame that low end 4th, 5th, and 6th string to even it out a bit?
Love the look of it, just never been the biggest rubber bridge sound fan
Whatever floats your boat I guess but it doesn't float my boat.
Next I string one of my guitars, do you think if you put rubber bands on the bridge under the strings, do you think you could get that tone?
I have friends that try this and get good results, I personally have never gotten it right.
@@seandaniel23 Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'll give it a go in the future and let you know what I think. Have a great day. Just Sam
I like it. Low jazz sounds. And it reminds me of the little kiddie plastic guitars from the 5$10
I love the rubber bridge sound. It is what it is and should be listened to as its own thing.
Seems like a rubber bridge would muffle the sound. Also, don't the strings cut into the rubber after a while?
Might be "modern indie", but Ive been hearing it used in indie recordings for at least 30 years.
The Emperor’s new guitar, sweet!
I see what you did there 😉
normally i’d find the price tag at Old Style frustrating, but i feel like he deserves to monetize however he can, especially with companies like Orangewood lifting the design wholesale and selling cheap knock offs
How is this different than just using some foam under the strings?
That’s what I do.
Costs nothing and works.
Would be really pissed if it had been expensive 😂
I clicked on your link and Phoebe Bridgers taking a bong hit caught me off guard 😄 very nice affordable guitars 👍
Unplugged it sounds like a nylon string
The "muted" drone type sound peaked in the 60s with the double muted Gretsch Country Gents. Felt vs. rubber, i get it, but the bridge is set up very similar to an Indian Tambura. Without the "microtuner" beads behind the bridge, that thing will be impossible to properly intonate. Gretsch already makes a similar standard bridge model for less than $200. Sliding in a piece of rubber roundstock wouldn't be that difficult. IDK, I'm not a fan of Indie music, i can't even bring myself to call it rock at all. We used to rollup paper cardstock just behind the regular bridge to get a similar sound on my Martin D28 for one particular song but it was impossible to do live , so i used a felt wedge in front of the bridge and got better dynamics. I think I'm hating on it mostly because of that one song, it was horrible.
Sounds like “safe” guitar music! Thanks for posting, our ears need protection too.
it sounds afflicted
Rubber bands for strings?
Rubber bridge with normal strings.
I got an Orangewood based on youtube guitar recs, like yours, and the neck is like a roller coaster. Regret all that shit.
Is it an electric?
Acoustic electric.
Another tonal choice in the studio but not versatile enough for most live use. But yeah, another flavor.
My new go-to!
@@seandaniel23 oh, fickle love
Dude. You were actually that excited for a guitar two guitar video ago. I’ve noticed zero elevated excitement levels. Baseline excitement
I'M MORE EXCITED NOW!!!!!!!!
@@seandaniel23 Now I’m feeling it. (Please consider me for salty comment of the week. Thank you. )
Lol, they HAD two colors. Apparently other people like this instrument too.
Honestly, sounds like a toy guitar. I suppose orangewood did the market research and saw a demand. I'm so biased after nearly 55 years of guitar playing that if its not my Martin D-28, well, you know.
You used the "index finger" method in the thumbnail picture.
I'm getting SO good at it!
Aah, Eer, ok Yeah/Nah !!
Instead of buying another guitar, shouldn't that effect be possible by just putting a rubber "onlay" between the bridge and the strings instead of the bone inlay? Or alternatively weave a thin leather strip around the strings close to the bridge? I know I'm a cheapskate... 😁
Dead sound is ok for some songs or genre's I guess. Some jazzy blues or Old timey stuff all sounded dead because of low technology and cheap guitars...but, kinda cool. Not for me tho...
I actually hate the sound. To me, it kind of sounds like a kids toy guitar with nylon strings.
More distortion more distortion more distortion
Hmmmmm, I don't know
Yeah... NO !
Salty comment alert! Not a fan of the sound to be honest.
Or Phoebe Bridger.🙄
it's a novel sound that i would play with for a day and never pick it up again
Is it just me or does it really sounds horrible? I'm sorry for saying this (I like your videos a lot), but my son's toy ukelele sounds embarrassingly similar to that guitar.
While I really like and look forward to Sean’s videos, I just don’t share his admiration for the sound of rubber bridges. It just muffles and mutes the sound of the guitar too much. There may be some limited applications where that muted sound is useful, but for general playing, I think it smothers the high end tones that make the guitar the wonderful instrument it is.
hearing this guitar reminded me of a song i havn't thought about for years. Not because it sounds the same, but hearing it gave me the same feeling i have hearing this song :) thx for reminding

That's such a classic album.
Nope.
Um… no.
Sounds like crap!
Did you bump your head?? I'm all in for change but this my friend, in my opinion is RIDICULOUS...
Why not just buy a kiddie guitar. Sounds the same to me!
Im not even sure why I took my time to comment.
Muted rubber bridge sounds great in a mix.
Gives loads of space for other frequencies unlike ordinary acoustics that can flood the frequency range of other instruments.
I want to be Sean Daniel when I grow up
Looks like a toy and sounds like a toy
Look at other videos about this guitar, it sounds great.
I love it! So sick of the plugged in acoustic sound. It’s got such a great bluesy authentic old time sound! Cheers happy mate?
Love it Sean!
An acquired taste, another flavour, maybe but it sounds like a poor toy Ukulele with 2 extra strings .
Definitely not my cup of tea. Sounds like a toy.
This is a fad type Guitar and down the road they won’t exist.
Like an ARP without brightness. Sound like a synth. Very annoying and useless!
Sounds like hot garbage
