- With how the game has been received by many, its possible we could get DLC in the future and maybe best case scenario, a sequel! I talk about the story that I had in mind for a sequel to Dynasty Warriors: Origins, whatever it maybe called! This isn't a full blown "How I would make the new game" but gave some small ideas to please some people who might ask at the end!

I think a sequel is going to happen after how positive this game has been. There are so many possibilities on what they could do but I think Ziluan will continue to be the protagonist. Would be cool if the sequel will let you choose who you followed in the first one and dive deeper into choices having consequences. And yes it would be nice if they let you play as the OG characters more lol. Ma Chao would probably be my number 1 choice for a companion especially if I could play him a lot.
Yeah I’ve been told by a lot of people lately that there was word of if there was a sequel, it would feature a Created Officer so went with this vid with that in mind which still gives Ziluan great importance!
Option 3, you play as Bailuan and trying to undo what Ziluan did with the help of Sima Yi.
Also, Huo Tao (just like Diao Chan) never existed.
Wouldn’t hate it! Only reason I think it wouldn’t is from what I said previously and the mention of him promising not to intervene unless the rulers lost their ways. Could then see how Ziluan takes it and maybe make him side with him and you’d have to deal with TWO guardians of peace destroying the three kingdoms! Like your idea too tho!
I wouldn't want that as the main game story but as side content sure go for it

I think ziluan and diao chan would be a possible choice if a sequel occurs. Their dynamic and how their final bond scene opens up the chance of a reunion and her being a companion in battle

Idk why but this made me think of like Pokémon silver for some reason with that ending lol. You finish the story of the game and there’s one more super powerful obstacle in your way before you can say it’s officially over. Red is that obstacle or in this case, Ziluan, the characters you play in the first games. His accolades and skill are obvious if you play through Origins and could make him into one of the most busted bosses in a DW game! That’d be awesome as a final battle!

Glad you covered this for a video! With how the three kingdoms end up, this is easily a great way to add so much drama and depth to Ziluan instead of just making him the mc again or just brushing him off! I hope they go this way with it cuz I would be sold from a story perspective!

I have to say this Lighty, this idea of yours for Origins II is quite something. I'd do anything to see this as a reality. It just ticks everything according to my taste. But... I have one fear: the Musou fandom won't like it. They would regard this another "storytelling failure" even it's a masterpiece, unless they pair it with another gimmick like they did this time - a very, very satisfying combat mechanic.
I won't write about Wei / Caos, I'm not fan of them, and I like your idea better than anything. I have a detailed scenario for Shu tho, since I'm somewhat a man of benevolence myself: (long paragraphs, incoming!)
Starting after establishing his rule in Yi, Liu Bei grows ambitious, and Zhuge Liang grows even more ambitious. Ziluan, who is supposed to be emotionally dead, in fact turns out he's observing everything keenly. Since we have Liu Bei who's not a total saint and Zhuge who's a "your guide to the benevolent rule", they can show them developing ambitions deep inside. They can throw many small events / talks that highlight the changing of nature of Shu higher-ups, like Liu Bei ignoring some farmers, Zhuge Liang some favouring officers on other, Guan Yu developing more arrogance, etc. Then Fan Castle comes, what happens, happens.
Why Ziluan would not join Wu after hating Shu (short para): Meanwhile the battle was going on, Ziluan would show interest in Wu, because he lost faith in Shu. But soon he will discover that they teamed up with the Caos, the sworn enemies of Ziluan. But he also sees that Wu also got their asses kicked by Wei not soon after the "alliance". So he loses trust in them either.
Back to Shu:
During Yiling battle, Ziluan thinks he'd try Liu Bei / Shu empire once again, perhaps he can find a slight chance of restoring their benevolent soul. He joins the Yiling battle, tries to convince Liu Bei to move away the troops from the forest, warning him about the potential fire attack, but Liu Bei will straight up decline him and shove him aside because of his current anger, making Ziluan hopeless. Once he sees the fire burn Liu Bei's 700,000 troops, that would be the last nail in the coffin.
For the protag: the CAW is a necessity in my opinion, it could go well if done properly.
This sounds awesome man! I haven’t played too many of these games but I got really into the new formula as you say with Origins it left me wanting more! Seeing you help the three kingdoms reach their peak and to see them drop steadily along with Ziluan going down a dark path because of it sounds great! There’s plenty they can do with Ziluan outside of just being the protagonist again. I could see them also still making him the protagonist but just doing this with Bailuan too in Ziluan’s place due to his promise at the end of the game. Either way I hope they go this route!
Yeah if he’s not playable, he could still play a huge role in different capacities!
DLC where you MC/previous character create a new guardian peace by helping the Jin build there empire and another cycle has formed in the next chaotic era. Basically create another timeline.
I dun think it’d be a dlc since there’s mention of them not wanting to cover after chibi unless it’s a pure full game sequel. Unless you meant dlc for the sequel then that’d be fine too!
The biggest question for a DW Origins sequel: How do we fit in Lu Bu???
I think they will do a DLC and the story will end up at the Hei fei castle and Wu Zhang Plains. They could even do stories for the other forces like Meng Huo and Yuan shao
Now I believe they are going to make this a trilogy with the third game perhaps being the stuff with the Sima Clan taking over Wei and the rise of Jin.
I believe the Shu storyline will just become increasingly sad with the death of Liu Bei and co and slowly you see the corruption that plagued the Han beginning to take over Shu, Zhuge Liang trying to win, his Northern Campaigns and eventually his death. You return and then for the rest of the game in the third one you will be essentially just staving off the inevitable.
Wu I kinda don’t know much about what they did after Chibi.
I believe the second game could go from Chibi to maybe the death of Guan Yu or when Cao Pi deposes the Han emperor.
I loved this game so much! Glad I got to play it after seeing all the pleasant reviews for it! I love your ideas I hope they keep Ziluan as something important for the next one if he isn’t the protagonist!

No idea how this would happen but if they ever did something whit a Jin storyline i think it would be cool if you played as a child of Ziluan instead of Ziluan himself.
Wow this is really good! Seeing the downfall but not just that, the downfall of the main character of the first game sounds amazing! That can also leave much to the imagination on how others could see that go down with the in between stuff as you go through the game! I hope they take this route! So much potential for Ziluan to be a great character!
There was the child that was saved by the village (the whole reason it was burned down) that could also be the protagonist
This is actually a great idea to have a sad story where you fight Ziluan at the end. I am going to add something to that idea. Considering you want to talk about the downfall of the Three Kingdoms, I would put Sima Yi as the protagonist of the next game, instead of another nameless protagonist. It's going to be a Spirit of Sanada-like game, but with Sima Yi. Here are some reasons why:
1. Ziluan being the next Bailuan, would make a perfect dynamic with Sima Yi. Ziluan wanting to take revenge on the Three Kingdoms he started, while Sima Yi wanting to unite the Three Kingdoms under his banner.
2. Ziluan had the option to choose which ruler he wanted to serve, meanwhile Sima Yi was forced to serve a specific ruler.
3. Sima Yi's career in life started after Chibi and ended at Gaoping Tombs, which was not long after Wuzhang Plains. So having Sima Yi as the main focus fits like a glove.
4. There is no better way to tell the story of the Three Kingdom's fall, than with the man who initiated the end of the Three Kingdoms.
This of course, is just my idea. Some people wouldn't like to have Sima Yi as the main character for a Dynasty Warriors game, but it would make for a good story.
I see what you’re cooking and I wouldn’t be opposed to it! Always loved Sima Yi and seeing the stuff he was dealing with within Wei so being able to see more of that with his perspective would be great!
This next game is going to be a treat for new fans. The story gets very game of thrones and people start dropping like flies lol

This game is awesome, i would prefer a sequel, lighty what are your favorite characters from each kingdom, including others from the entire franchise?
The game does setup two things for the sequel though. One is the Child that Ziluan saved who is maybe the protagonist for the sequel since the Child fate is left unknown and appearance is kept unknown. He or she will most likely be a young adult by the time of Post-Chibi events. The second is the Traitor to the Guardian of Peace since this person was neither found nor identified so the Traitor maybe revealed in the sequel and maybe act as the Main Antagonist as well that potentially kill Ziluan and secretly guide the Three Kingdoms to their downfall which leads to the Child eventually becoming part of Jin. Once it reach the ending of Shu, Wu, and Wei story content, the Child leave the Faction he or she originally supported and years later will be required into Jin. This should be the Split point where the story splits into the Hypothetical route for Shu, Wu, and Wei where the Child stays due to the three kingdoms never falling to their dark path due to Hypothetical events or the story progress into Jin for Historical route with Jin Hypothetical route happening later in Jin storyline if they meet the Jin Hypothetical requirements.
Ziluan himself will most likely never live long enough to Jin era since even if he does not die in battle, he most likely may die from old age so having his game end at Chibi is ideal so the sequel can continue from Post-Chibi to maybe Jin era with the Child who acts as the Next Generation character like how a lot of the Young characters who appear in Post-Chibi are since the Next generation characters in Post-Chibi events are the ones who mostly live to Jin era story while most of the Post-Chibi era characters normally die in battle or old age claims them before Jin era.
A side thing they most likely prepare for the sequel is the identity of the mystery ghost boy who disguise himself as young Bailuan. The clues given in this game from his self description to how the Guardian of Peace can use Mystic Arts, strongly suggest he is Zuo Ci. One of the main reasons why Koei originally wanted Zuo Ci removed from DW series was because they could not find use for him in Historical route main storyline. They went back on it when they found use for him in Hypothetical route in DW8 but their main concern for him is still finding use for him in Historical routes. If the boy is Zuo Ci in disguise then they have solved this issue by making him the phantom guide for the Hypothetical Main protagonists of the DW series in both Origins and maybe Main series.
Yeah there’s a lot there that you mentioned that could work really well! I honestly forgot about the whole traitor thing and even the kid that could work too since they weren’t on screen things! Both are even better imo!
If Sima Yi is the next Route for a Sequel, then that means we had my Cracked Scenario Idea based on Ravages of Time (since i intentionally named Ziluan "Liaoyuan Huo" because of it)
Or idk maybe create a character where we work our way up and change history or have the ability to recruit ur own characters and found a new nation.
Its a longshot but i'm still wishing for hypothetical campaigns for "Others" factions. Especially with the new redesigns for Dong Zhuo I'd love to see a scenario where big Lu Bu doesnt decide to betray him. Or Yuan Shao, Cao Cao's main rival prior to Chi Bi only having him as a unique and the rest be generics is pretty sad
I do wonder where they would put the Hypothetical Routes in a sequel (which hopefully amount to more then a single cutscene like in Liu Beis route in this one).
Having Guan Yu survive Fan Castle would be obvious choice for Shu.
Defeating Zhang Liao in He Fei would be another obvious one for Wu.
But I am struggling to find one for Wei. Maybe Mt. Dingjun? Keeping Xiahou Yuan alive could be one.

Companion guesses for the Sequel assuming its another 3 again (I probably think way to hard about this):
Shu: Jiang Wei, maybe Wei Yan and one of the Guan kids.
Wei: Cai Wenji, Xiahou Ba and Cao Ren.
Wu: Lu Xun, Lianshi and I am drawing a blank on the third one. A lot of the more well known Wu officers die somewhat soonish after Chi Bi. So maybe Ding Feng? Atleast he is around long enough.
...... this story of your idea.... kinda reminds me of the manga story that i still wish to finish reading 'RYURODEN' i do recommend reading it, its unique very old style art style wise.....
I hope they do a better job with the bonds. They’re either incredibly boring or super cringe. Weapon variety also needs a vast improvement.
i hope companions are fully playable this time fully no ziluan or caw character.
As someone who feels the musou games have shit the bed post ps2 for the most part, this was a breathe of fresh air. The last one I actually liked was Spirit of Sanada. All the others between that and 5 I pretty much hated. Shows you how picky I am. And I loved Origins so far. Really excited to see what they do next now that they seem willing to put a bit of money and production value into the games. They finally don't look like ps3 games.
I hope the sequel Origins 2 we are going until Wu Zhang Plains.. and the third one will unified China under Jin Dynasty.. then we will have Dynasty Warriors Trilogy
I feel Jin could either be a secret route after beating the three kingdom endings or a dlc maybe! Wouldn’t complain too much if it was in the game! I just feel Wuzhang Plains would be perfect, they made that the last stage in every game damn near till 7 where they introduced Jin!
I loved this game except that part when you have to beat the ghost as quickly as possible for save San Juan, I swear I lost the number of many time I been pissed of by that😂

Honestly, I hadn't even considered a sequel, I was sure they'd go the DLC route. But given this is already a departure from the standard DW games they could well do a sequel.
Yeah from previous interviews we’ve seen even before the launch, there isn’t meant to be any dlc for content after chibi, at least involving the three kingdoms! Which i think is fine since I think something like this would be best for a full game with new content and features! Maybe get weapon dlcs or costume packs or added in companions in, MAYBE have what ifs to join the Other factions or something for Ziluan specifically but that’s it in my eyes.

As my first DW game, I have put in about 40 hrs so far. This game has made the grind fun and addicting. Dragon Spear or bust!!! Just literally defeated Lu Bu this morning before work. I am wondering if KT can do something similar with the Samurai Warriors series.

Honestly, i do t think they need to do anything crazy.
Just drop dlc fleshing out the events following chi bi.
Add a new weapon or 2, new items to unlock. JUST GIVE ME MORE.
The combat is the BEST by far of any dynasty warriors game and i want to keep grinding lol

Yeah I’ve mentioned on other posts I think they mentioned in interviews that dlc sequel content wouldn’t happen. Maybe what ifs for the Other factions you couldn’t join at MOST but they said if they did cover after Chibi it would be for a sequel game.
Or a dlc sequel continue on what you have on your save.
Only reason I say no to dlc sequel is cuz of interviews P-Sho did (I think that was the guy’s name) that said they wouldn’t do a dlc sequel. If the game does well and there’s demand, they’d make a whole new full game for the sequel. DLC wise at best we’d prob get weapons/companions, costumes, Other faction what ifs you can join or something for Ziluan specifically but the last two id be even more iffy on

For your Wei path, maybe we could see Cao Cao die by Ziluan assassinating him over Yuanhua, only for Cao Pi to take over and be somewhat of a tyrant, since he was very suspicious of his brothers, even had some killed.
Ziluan, seeing the failure of his actions, instead loses HIS way and you'd have to kill him to restore the image of what a guardian of peace should be.
This could also be done with the other 2 factions as well, maybe it would not work as well though.

Nah I understand what you mean but I think it would be best as a sequel. There’s already mention of them from interviews doing a sequel IF the game does well and if they were to cover the events after Chibi it wouldn’t be a dlc which I think is fine. There’s so much more there to make it into a full new game with maybe a created character or an mc with ties to Ziluan’s past that I’ve been seeing in other comments. I get what ya mean tho! I personally think it’d work better as a sequel with more features and companions, weapons and a new long story to go through!

I think they handled it well honestly! Previous games made them more harsh of a faction but there’s more of a human side to Cao Cao despite his cold nature! I like the approach!
