I vote declutter the least fav in a series, more space for books you like better 💫 when I was done with WoT I only kept book 3, 6, 8 and 12 without shame 🌻
About the unhauling, I think it's totally okay unhaul books you don't/didn't like. It frees up space for books you actually want to have on your shelves. Actually, ur series "Shelf it or Scrap it" inspired me to unhaul like 70% of my books. I realized that I'm a bookworm not a bookdragon. I don't want have a pile of books and hoard them when they don't give anything to my life. By selling them I at least make some extra money I can spend on buying new books :D
Depression is so hard to deal with. I suffer from PMDD so I am there with you. I really do feel like it’s gets worse as I age. I hope you’re feeling better now and know that you’re not alone. 🙏🏻
I finished the audiobook of Daughter of No Worlds last week and LOVED it. I immediately put a hold on the sequel and am listening to it now. I'm like 80% through it and there's some BIG stuff that happens, action-wise. Already can't wait to move on to book 3, it's such a fun trilogy so far.
Thank you for discussing all the mental health and pms stuff because I also suffer with them so it feels really relatable, which, doesn’t fix anything but it helps to not feel alone. Get rid of the books. Make space for books you love! ❤️
I’m reading wheel of time books back to back atm ☠️, I’m currently halfway through book 11. But just wanted to share a podcast that I found called ‘The Wheel Weaves’. It’s a first time reader + a long time fan going through the chapters - it’s been extremely helpful in piecing all the little WoT story tidbits together for a first time reader and just enhanced the WoT experience for me ☺️ I started listening to them around book 8 and had no issue jumping in at a random point of their podcast. It’s obviously an additional time commitment alongside reading WoT haha but just wanted to share it ❤❤

Not gonna lie, I was totally distracted from your first Daughter of No Worlds update by the mug you were holding! 🦄🦄🤣 I have however recently realised that I think I really enjoy folkloric fantasy, so I immediately added Gorse to my TBR! 🧚♀📚
I randomly read Daughter of No Worlds at the beginning of June and I gave it four stars! I've not really read any fantasy/romance books so I was happy to see that I liked it! "Toxic bad boys can be saved, pieces of shit can't." I laughed far too loud at that one. I fully support getting rid of parts of series! I haven't ran out of shelf space yet but I've already side-eyed a few books where I'm like "You better hope I don't run out of shelf space or you're hitting the bricks!" I also lost it at "When we're land sliding into a happily ever after for a relationship that shouldn't even exist..." so harsh, but so funny.
I think keeping books you love is the best way. So unhauling parts of a series sounds like a good idea. And as you mentioned, it's more a bigger overarching series. I own two books in a seven books series because I love those the most.
I haven't read it yet but I've heard 'a love letter to whiskey' is like a toxic romance (I think) so maybe you would like that. Also, that purple gym set you had on is so stunning!!! 😫
Re: the faeries. Since your ARC is set in Cornwall, look into Cornish fae. But in general, English/Scots/Irish/Welsh Sidhe are as varied as other mythologies. You want your big, burly handsome ones? There’s the Irish Sidhe and the Tuatha De Danaan. Aengus and Lugh would give shame to any of SJM’s creations. There’s the homely “ brownies” of the tighe Sidhe, the craftly Picts, the ominous beansidhe (the banshees)….. I promise there’s a lot more than whimsy and fair tales! Some of it gets quite dark and brutal (Bres and his reign). I’m a Scots/Irish practitioner who does work with the Sidhe and Tuatha Dé Danann so I’m happy to help you learn more so you can appreciate tales set in the British Isles. ❤

I unhauled books 2 and 3 of the divergent trilogy because I liked the first one, did not care about the rest of the series and needed space on my bookshelves. Will keep it for nostalgia reasons xD
I think it’s funny people are saying it’s the second half of Daughter of No Worlds saved it for them because I thought it could be a 5⭐️ until I got to the second half and then it dropped to a 4⭐️. I think the romance was paced too fast in the second half after the first half, gave me a bit of whiplash 😅
Yep just read Indigo Ridge by Devney Perry and Funny Story by Emily Henry for the same purpose. My brain can’t deal with epic fantasy right now. It can barely deal with itself.
If a series has additional books that aren’t necessarily in the main world and plot I’m okay getting rid of them. Or if I only really liked book 1 I’ll keep that and ditch the rest of the series. I do feel weird getting rid books in the middle tho
I get rid of books I don't like, even if they part of a series. I love Elise Kova's Married to Magic Series but the Duet with a Siren Duke was so bad, I got rid of it after reading since the series is not missing anything when it is not there.
I DNFd Daughter of No Worlds at the 50% mark because I have never been so utterly bored! And I found the main character so insufferable. I have her other series and I’m really hoping that it is much better read for me
