They changed stuff in the movie that didnt need to be changed. One of the biggest was there was no storm when I heard Doug tell the story before so it was clearly added for additional drama .. when the story was quite dramatic enough. Also, the pilot (Joe) was never moved from the pilot's seat after he died. In the movie, they never said Doug actually owned the King Air. He bought it as an investment and kept it in a charter program. Furthermore, Doug had more than 80 + hours flying time in the Cesna 172....in the movie they said he had one lesson in the Cesna. Thats a ridiculous break from reality even for a movie. Thats just the beginning. I would have been mad if I was Doug ... I got mad watching it.

They didn't charter a private plane. Doug OWNED the plane -- but he wasn't certified to fly it, he owned it as an investment.

Exactly... I don't get why they'd change the real story that much, its already interesting as is...
