It's not corrosion. The projectiles have a lead core covered by a steel jacket. If that seal breaks the lead deteriorates faster than the steel. What you lifted off that round was the outer jacket.

The steel has deteriorated, and the lead is left.

The circular metal disks are the remnants of the back of pre packaged artillery powder charges and are the primer plates that physically ignites the powder.
Also everything you call a 30mm is a 20 mm gatling gun round, absolutely fascinating, good finds from the civil war. Well done guys.

Next time you find heavy things which are giving you a hard time lifting, you could slowly move it to the right site, lift it onto the terrain and go from there.

Those rounds without primers: they are made that way. There will also not be any cordite (or similar). They are training rounds for work on how to load the magazines, etc. They are not for the firing range.

Those round things you said that you think they’re coins if you’re not sure on the way home stop and pick up some white vinegar, then turn around and soak the coins in them overnight and then throw them in the morning and I for 24 hours it’s open for 24 hours and then scrub them. Obviously you’ll find out if it’s a coin or not.

Those round metal disks, it looks like a farmer changed a bunch of disks on his plow and he probably changed them while he was in a field around there and threw the old ones in the river.

The train wheel is actually a pulley where a steel cable was rotating to pull left and right an overhead boom ,an arm that was doing lift for loadin stuff into a truck

The round sheet metal could be lids. Military surplus material would come in round hard cardboard containers of all sizes. If that’s a dumping ground from old military stuff it makes sense they dumped all those rounds and brass in those containers and the cardboard just fell apart in the Water.

Have you guys considered rigging up a simple motorized winch to help with these tall bridges, especially for heavy items like the wheel or safe? You could put enough of an arm on it to keep it from hitting the bridge with a swivel to bring it to you easily. For someone with a bit of building skill this should be a simple task.
Discovered your channel recently and am really enjoying it.

The rotor was a brake drum from a car. The train wheel looked more like a pulley from a piece of machinery. That is a lot of projectiles. Good work cleaning that out of the water.
