    2025 is gonna be my first year of prober gardening where im aiming to grow a lot of my own veggies and start storing stuff for winter... my god, it's pretty daunting but i also cant wait. I love that I found this channel. its nice to see self-sustainable content like this in a region similar to mine. (Im placed in Denmark) im hoping to learn a ton from you!

      Ah thanks so much I and just filming a storing video! Do not worry it's not that scary just work small and it will be fine. And if you feel overwhelmed... stick it all int the freezer. Feel free to drop me an email if you have any questions! Or join the discord. I and completely self taught so honestly if I can anyone can! Fermenting, pressure canning water bathing, curing, dehydrating we do it all!
      And congratulation! Self sufficiency is the best life style and it is the best thing to take over your life 💕❤️😁

    Grow as much, and if you have too many, give some to the community, foodbank, or friends. That's my plan when i reap off my allotment

    • @ThatBritishHomestead
      @ThatBritishHomestead  20 днів тому +2

      That's the plan! I tend to eat everything that I grow so far! But I plan to double down this year

    Loved the tip about dividing the seeds into monthly sowings and storing in one place. Would you do a video showing what you intend to sow over the year. Thank you great video 👏👏

      I've done a screen shot and I'll do that! I have an idea what I can do but I'll have to get to writing it out! lol and how I come to the numbers as well! It's all subject to change weather etc. and think just a few years ago everyone was growing everything they ate. Blows my mind man. But I'll get that video to you! As soon as I can!

    Love radishes for a dopamine hit. My latest dopamine rush are mini eggplants.

    • @ThatBritishHomestead
      @ThatBritishHomestead  24 дні тому +3

      I just love the mini eggplants! I think they are better than the larger ones in taste too! Also, let's be honest who can eat the monster ones in one sitting. I love them but no one in the fam will touch them but me. Radishes are just the best thing to grow that's fast part from cress! But everyone knows you need to grow that on a egg shell with a smiley face

      @@ThatBritishHomestead same here! My kids won’t touch them or zucchini. (I sneakily grate zucchini into all our spaghetti, taco meat, muffins and they never know!) I’m on the other side of the world in Australia but love watching your gardening adventures.

    Great video, thank you 🙂 Some really brill tips for beginner growers. I now have 2 allotment plots plus a home kitchen garden as I simply ran out of space for all I wanted to grow. I eat nearly all veg, but not cucumber or tomatoes- I react to both, sadly as I love them. However my hubster eats tomatoes and cucumbers in great quantity so I till need to grow them. Happy growing 🙂

    How many square feet of growing space have you got in your garden? I've been trying to guesstimate by counting fence panels (as they're 6' wide) - but I'm probably way off in trying to figure it that way.

      Excellent question I was thinking of you today as I filmed... well yesterday now! Editing makes time disappear. I went into a little more detail, but I have 2 allotments which are 250 squire meters and a very small garden patch at home
