I've just applied this surgery to mine and it worked! Thanks a lot! I'm so happy to see it reaching 5 lights again and there's no damage nor any sound distortion, you wouldn't even notice that it was repaired! In my case I used the Samsung 18650 30Q cells which are mostly the same than the originals. I replaced the sticky pads by new 3M double coated foam adhesives. I didn't really unplug nothing else than the battery pack, as those plugs are really challenging to unplug and replug in such an small place and didn't want to break any wires so I had to leave one screw of the battery pack out, but no distortion at all. Neither I needed to put new sealant to the passive radiator, I just left the old sealant and after screwing it, it hot sticked again and airtight (I have never put it under water in 5 years and won't do it now) At the end I missed some more details, or a video about how to do some of the steps as I was totally inexperienced, so it took me many hours to properly dissasemble it, and to pack the batteries again as it may be dangerous. But definitely this video and the comments from other users were really useful! Without it I wouldn't ever tried.
Thanks, it worked! Although it's still difficult, especially the removal of the passive bass membrane, it is glued with a rubber glue - it took me an hour to remove it (after heating it first). Also, it is important to secure well the new batteries, to avoid any distortions when the speaker is playing low frequencies.
I think i also need to replace my charging port, as it will only charge if the usb power lead is made to pull the charging port. I have to find the position that it will charge, then wrap the lead around the speaker to keep the tension. Can i ask what sealant you use to re-attach the grill?
Szia esetleg tudnál segíteni nekem ugyanez a hangszóróm van es megpuszukt benne az akksi, hol lehet megszereltetni? sajnos én nem értek annyira hozzá mint te
Thanks for the video. I have given a second life to the Denon speaker. I have used two batteries like the original ones, Samsung 30Q 3000 mAh 3.6V. Important, how are they connected in series and to the controller board? At one end of the two batteries, Pole + and Pole - are joined, using nickel strip, monofilament copper wire, wire.... From this end, we join both pole + and pole - to BM of the board, by means of both cables. Finally, the other free end of the batteries, we join pole + to the positive of the board, and pole - to the negative of the board. Ready. The speaker charges well and reaches 5 led lights.
Followed this and it made my faithful but short lived Denon speaker come back to life. Thanks for this. Super helpful. Those are some serious bits of sticky pads that Denon use though though eh!! Felt like I was going to break the board!!
There are 6 screws. 4 from behind and 2 in front (under the rubber plugs). NOTHING NEEDS TO BE HEAT UP AND STICK OFF !!! Only need remove left and right cover !
Can you explain a little more? I've taken the two off the front (under the rubber plugs) and all the screws out of the back. Do I need to remove the small silver hex screws with an allens key to then remove the side panels? Any further information will be greatly appreciated as it would be much easier not having to remove the passive radiator
With the textile cover removed, remove the 2 silver screws from the left and right side, pry and lift in the 4 left out areas to remove the left and right side. On the front in the middle remove 2 rubber plugs and unscrew. On the back remove 4 rubber plugs, 3 elongated, 1 same as front. 2 are below one side cover. Remove the rubber seal from the sides, and undo the cable connecting buttons and leds. Pry on the 4 rubber tabs along the line separating the front and back, to separate it. Once open you should have easy access to remove battery. Only figured this out when I removed the radiator ...
Helóheló! Köszi a videót! Sajnos nincsen pontheggesztőm, ezért félek belevágni. Van ötleted hogyan oldhatnám meg? Ha forrfüles akksit veszek akkor megoldható? 18650-es akksit nem merek sima forrasztóval basztatni. Nem hiányzik egy lakástűz haha :D
Hatalmas köszönet a videóért NEKED! :) Ez alapján simán megcsináltam én is 3500-as Samsung cellákkal, pontheggesztővel..

I did the change using LG INR18650MJ1 3500mAH. The speaker works however I have the same issue as the others that it only charges to 3 LED lights. What I found on the old batteries was that one of the batteries was dead (no voltage measured), the other was still ok with lesser mAh already. Hoping someone has found the root cause and the solution to make it charge to 5 LED lights.
@@bolob2843 I did the reset procedure multiple times and it charged to the 5 LEDs but it took a longer time to charge it full. I’m using only a 2A charger, it took about 8 hrs to full charge, but the run time was about 16hrs around that depending on the volume setting.
I didn't expect such a mistake from Denon, I thought I was investing my money well, I will never buy Denon products again in my life. I sent the speaker to an electronic repair center and they told me that it is not possible to replace the batteries nor the electronic component which self-discharges the batteries, I am very disappointed.
659736 The speaker is two years old now and been everywhere, used almost daily, but still looks almost as new and still waterproof. Battery-wise: better than 2 years ago, sometimes 19-20 hours of continuous playback with one charge. Newly installed batteries are 500 mAh greater than originals.

Hi! May I ask what is the specification of the battery? Would like to replace my DSB250BT battery as well.
Hi.
Originally two pcs of 18650 and 3000 mAh. I put 3500 mAh's and it gives approx 20 hours of playtime.
Good luck.
