Mainly because Argosy is more marketed towards the Professional/Commercial studio market opposed to home studio like Output. You see a lot of Argosy Console desks in high-end pro studios and mix rooms. Dave Pensado owns the Argosy Dual 15. Large format consoles are pretty much a dying breed as many of them are getting replaced by Argosy console desk going Hybrid mixing in the box.
@@kingech_B15 They are the most expensive too that ranges from 5 to 7 grand. I believe the Halo desks were derived from the Eclipse series esp the 3rd generation ones that shares many of the same design language and the exact same steel legs.
I have the same desk built like a tank. Once you go Argosy ain't no going back. Takes about 3 to 4 hours to assemble. Its the dopiest and most pro looking desk out there. As you may know already that Argosy is pretty much the industry standard in professional high-end studios esp Mixing and Mastering rooms. The large format recording consoles are phasing out as many studios are going hybrid with Argosy console desks.
I applaud the new desk. I myself am working on building a bedroom home recording studio. Your videos help me reach the pinnacle of mixing and production in my label.
Damn you should of kept it or upgraded to a newer model. The build quality and the Engineering the goes behind Argosy products is no brainier why they are the industry standard in pro studios. I had three desk picked out one was the Zaor Vision W, the other some unknown brand called Bazel Raystag 18 and the Argosy Halo. I eliminated the Bazel raystag 18 desk because my Presonus Faderport 8 was too large for the table top that didn't have enough depth. I was down to to desk. I ended up eliminating the Zaor Vision w because I felt the bulld quality with the use of particle board wasn't worth the cost plus there was going to be a lot wasted table top space I wouldn't use with just a Faderport sitting on top of it. The legs on that desk look like they could break easily esp plywood. So went with the Argosy Halo.
You got the Halo, yesssssssssssss, bad ass desk, Let me know if you find the vertical monitor placement too high, I find the tweeters end up too high in the air, I had to resort to horizontal speakers,
Do you have any advice on what kind of commercial buildings/spaces to look for when looking for a space to do tracking/mixing work? Every place I've been in has had very thin walls and even with acoustic panels setup there's still a lot of sound leaking.
A it's davey what up wavy You'll be hearing from me soon Figure out how much u charge if I sent you a skeleton of my recording to mix much love keep doing it big!!! Stay blessed fam!!!

Does the desk have a keyboard tray
That’s an option. I don’t need it.
They come in different variations depending on your needs. The base model is the cheapest. Its just like buying a car that has different trim levels.
