Growing a Vegetable Garden

Living in the Benguet, one of the main suppliers of vegetables in the Philippines makes backyard garden seem unnecessary and not make sense. Abundant vegetables were always in sight that backyard gardening seem a waste of space & time.
But the pandemic hits and vegetable prices are now on the rise (Farmers POV: relief since vegetable prices were bad before). High prices means little to no leftover during the harvest season making it difficult to find free vegetables for personal consumption. Hence, backyard gardening now make sense. Aside from unlimited supply of organic and fresh vegetables, nothing compares to watching a miracle - from planting a seedling to harvesting and eating your own produce. You can also share it with your love one’s. In this instance, it will be my Mama’s pasalubong to our Lola who is living in the City.
