Since you are with children, you can request that they don't make the food spicy for example fried noodles, rice etc. For the flat bread always take the dhall curry for children without sambal.
Penang is one of the 13 states in Malaysia. It is my 2nd home state in Malaysia. I was studying & working in Penang for 15 years. Do come over to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (East Malaysia) for your next destination holiday in Malaysia.
We absolutely loved Penang when we visited and watching your video has made us want to return! We didn't get to do the fruit farm when we visited so that's definitely one for the list. So impressed that you have made the move with the kids, you're very brave, can't wait to see more of your adventures ❤
One of my favorite places in Malaysia. They have a fabulous night market there, at least they did before the pandemic. The hawker center there is one of the best!! The food is spectacular!

I'm a Penangite and reside in Batu Feringghi. Needless to say, t'was such a pleasant surprise coming across your video and channel. So proud you decided to move to Penang from the UK, you and your family will absolutely love it here! If you're residing in Batu Feringghi, would love to share local insider tips and such which would help your stay in Penang much more enjoyable! 😊
Chris, Tamira and the girls, welcome to Penang. We look forward to seeing more of your travel videos. This one on Batu Ferringhi gives me goosepimples as it is my home in Penang. We wish you a happy memorable stay in this corner of the island. Who knows, we might bump into each other?
For the kids you can order egg roti canai and usually the curry sauce is served separately. For dessert you can order milo roti or banana roti. You've only just scratched the surface. You still have 10 states( on the Peninsular ) and 2 more regions on Borneo island(Sarawak and Sabah) also known as East Malaysia. Try char kueh tiaw, chicken and beef satay, bbq pork rice or chicken rice which the children will like.

@TheHutchinsons Hi Chris & Tamara - yes the spoon and fork (no knife) is normal. We just had a lovely house/catsitter here from Malaysia and she cooked a few meals for us - agree with you guys, the food is fabulous! Katherine & Cameron x
I love kids and your kids are adorable. Take them to Escape Penang Theme Park. It will be an experience they will never ever forget for the rest of their lives.
Penang is a unique island. The food is delicious and not expensive. It has a feel of a city, (which is not overdeveloped) that is full of history and colonial structures, and yet one could get to the beach within minutes. The last time I was there was more than a decade ago. Getting around isn't difficult because most Penangites speak English. The multi-cultural and multi-racial community are friendly, kind and helpful. I envy you as I live in Hong Kong now and to ease my yearn for Malaysia, I watch your videos. Thank you for uploading them for the world to see. 🙏🙏🙏
Lovely video editing and the background musics are spot on. I am from Penang but now living in KL. Glad that you enjoyed your stay so far. Penang is known for its myriad of food varieties. Enjoy and enjoy......the lady who drove you to your destination, she's just fantastic❤.
