We can’t take chances with young untested players. We will need a very strong team of experienced quality players. Wherever they come from.
The management situation has to be resolved. If not it could prevent us getting off to a good start. I dont need to tell anyone that a good start is vital.
i'm hoping a lot of our younger players get given a chance this year with how well the under 21s and 18s have done some have to given first team chances if we do it right we can mix them in with players we bring in and might not have to spend a lot of money which will be a good thing
I think that because we'll be so active in the transfer window that we might have a slow start to the season.
But if we have a decent Manager in charge (Mowbray or someone else) then I think that we'll grow into challengers as the season goes along, kind of like Leeds this season in the Championship.
It took Sunderland 4 seasons 2 get out i think if we make Play offs that will be a good season for us tbh
FFP has just reset its accounting period so it does still apply so the club will need to keep it in mind especially if our broadcasting revenues drop by £7m. So they will keep it in mind as overspending against a loss will impact us in 3 years if we do. So I think they may gamble but not in a crazy way. Picking up Jonson Clarke-Harris on a free would have been a great deal if we had ourselves in gear. I see three of the U21s getting promoted to the 1st team this season also and L1 is a great way to get them started. KRO

We need to get a good young team that want to wear the shirt and play for it. I have said before there are some cracking players in the lower leagues and we can get these. Players will come to the club as they will be playing in the championship next season, if all goes well. This would be a massive boost to their careers and to our club. With the money we can spend we could even get a team with depth so as the season goes on we have back ups. I do think the team sheet will look massively different but that’s not a bad thing.
We can’t compare ourselves to other clubs as they do not have the backing we have now, let’s be honest if times were different we could assemble a prem team with the funds we could throw at it. When we were relegated from the prem, the team was so different but that season we done ok, I see no difference. We will bounce back next season for sure and go on over the next couple of seasons to gain promotion again. I do firmly believe this.
All we need is a stable manager and the fans to stick by the team.
