Devs have stated they don't want the super fast speed running of PoE1 and wanted a slower, more methodical play through, which is why they have been nerfing the one shots and screen wiping builds. PoE1 beta went through a similar progression to release in that the mobs and bosses had the difficulty cranked up to 11 and they progressively tuned them down as testing went on. It seems they are taking a very similar approach here and are identifying the super builds first and tuning them down first before they make any changes to mobs or bosses. There's still lots of skills and supports to be added in so they may already know certain support skills not in the game now will boost builds back up. Tuning things is going to take a long time to get right in the end, and right now its clear they are sniping the OP builds that are too powerful for the intended pace and play of the game. The way points in endgame needs serious rework, progression shouldn't be bricked by bad RNG, slowed or made more difficult sure, but if you run out of waypoints you're basically stuck. Offscreen one shots should be an easy fix by simply reducing the range in which the mobs can cast those attacks, ensuring that you can't be off screened. This is an easy solution but will take time to go through every single boss/mob ranged attacked and alter the max range of. In the end its still EA and I'm not going to get mad at anything, especially so early on in EA. No point in it now, changes are coming and we don't know what they are prioritizing right now except obviously ID'ing the uber builds that break their pace/play intentions of the game.
That's some fair points. I agree with the skills and supports being added may change some things. No you're absolutely right. This game is difficult for the sake of being difficult. And having to focus so much on resistance absolutely destroys your ability to play creatively. And it's all designed to be tedious and slow you down and they will lose a lot of players with this design. Essentially all the new players they garnered will be lost and it will be the same PoE1 players

I mean ultimately same dev from POE 1, so they'd make their game design philosophy the same , so if you dislike this aspect in POE 1, you prob cant escape it either in poe 2. Also who in their right mind think that giving player ONE CHANCE for each map is a good idea? We used to have 6 chances no? Why do they want to make the game even more tedious/ punishing that poe 1, which is the main reason that drive away people back in POE 1 ?
T1 maps are the very beginning of end game. Depends who you ask, hardcores would say t1 maps are early/mid game, whereas to casuals the end game starts right after the campaign
completely agree with all the points u made. I'm in the same boat with the endgame downward spiral. might just make a new character cause pushing past t5 maps is, as u explained, tedious and absurd.
I'm on tier 11-15 maps, in lots of tier 15 maps I get one shot with 1.5k energy shield 1.7k health and 75% resist on everything other than chaos which is 40%. My progression is completely halted by getting items worth a lot of exalted/divs which don't drop unless I am stacking tons of luck and even with that it's just horrible, it feels horrible. it takes like 3 days of farming to even get one decent item.
I hit endgame, blew all my gold and orbs, still had negative lightning resist and maybe 30% for fire/cold, getting one shot by lightning elites/bosses sucked when I only get a single shot at maps. Made a monk to level and get more currency to try and make items that give me enough resist to deal with starting maps . . . And currently in Act 5 (whatever you want to call the Act 2 2nd go through) and again this character is negative on lightning and can't get any rolls with it, so apparently this game just doesn't want to give me lightning resist :(. And ya, maps are way to big for not having movement skills. I know they want this to be a slower grind, but I miss being able to enter maps and with 6 chances I could generally clear the first 5 tiers of maps getting enough currency to buy decent resist gear and some other important upgrades setting me up to easily get into t11-13 maps without much issue before needing to really buckle down on gear. I never had issues getting maps in PoE1 (I mean, there was always that one node that just wouldn't drop and I'd just buy it from someone), I have only done about 6 maps in PoE2 before deciding it wasn't worth it with my gear, but the waystone drop doesn't feel as good as PoE1, and I always had banks of maps and didn't really need to drop down more than 1-2 tiers. Agree with the offscreen kills, those suck in every game and I think PoE2 just needs to zoom out some more for bosses. In PoE 1 I understood why we had all the on-death effects, but in this game we move way to slow to deal with all of them to be fun. Also wish some of the puddles on the ground would disappear faster, can't dash through them, too dangerous if low resistances to go through them and then your just waiting for things to despawn while out of combat. For the normal mobs, its real fun when your just going through zones and not really having an issue, but you know the next zone has an enemy that hits like a truck for no reason and is more deadly than the boss of that zone (sometimes worse than the act boss). I understand what they are going for, but Elden Ring works because all the trash mobs and bosses are specifically placed and designed for the area they are in. Trying that in a game like this means you get a lot of completely broken mechanics like fast hordes of enemies that randomly explode and since it is the entire horde that has the modifier, you are just spamming dodge roll, somewhat attacking when safe, but its not fun to just dodge roll in this style of game constantly. Hell I think I dodge rolled less in Elden Ring than I do in this game.
Biggest things I would want to see is first smaller maps, or a higher base move speed on the player or both, I would even take everything that moves getting a flat percentile move speed bonus. Anything to not make it feel like I'm sitting through a morning commute to work on every single map. Second either dramatically reduce to like 2-3% or completely remove the resistance penalty from progression. It felt in the first game and still feels now like a lazy and extremely artificial difficulty injection for the game. In a game known for its complexity and creativity in game design we have no better way to increase difficulty other then to artificially make things that already hit extremely hard become instant killers? Because lul you didn't roll good enough using the RNG based finite crafting system to get enough plot armor. The resistance system was uncompelling unfun and lazy in poe1 and I feel its the same exact way in poe2. Having percentile resists is fine.... but why do I need to get 135% resistance to every single damage type instead of 75%? why does that need to primarily occupy gear which is already extremely RNG dependent and tedious to obtain... it just feels lazy. Attempting to roll gear that fulfills its intended roll and also has a grand total of 540% resistance across all of the elements has to be the least interesting and least enjoyable part of the game.

Path of Exile has always been a grind. Last PoE1 league, It took me over 200 hrs to get to the t15+ maps. I think for that season, I ran over 500 sub t10 maps before getting the loot to afford better gears. And it took me another 500+ hrs to afford the gears to avoid get one shot in t16 maps and be able to do the pinnacle stuff. Your just not supposed to have your gear to follow your map progression. PoE1 wasnt that and I doubt PoE2 will be the right game for you if you think that will change. Also, if you map your progression to a popular streamer, no offense, but even me, with 3k hrs in the first game, it takes me 10x the time to accomplish what they do. Having said all that, PoE2 is indeed more punishing and we gotta keep in mind that this is a Early Access and they change things fairly often given the feedback they get. But, your critiques feel liike your judging a full release game which PoE2 isnt given it will be early access for about another year. And even then, I think some of the issues you pointed will be addressed but probably not as much as you think they will. PoE has always been a game that even at full level, and having access to everything, you ll need hundreds of hours to grind the levels and the gear(or the currency to buy said gear) to be able to do the high end endgame stuff. Where your at atm seems to me that's where I used to be after a month of playing everyday in last league, and the game has been out for only 2 weeks now. You seems to be in a hurry. If you get one shot, your just not there yet. Also, it's well known that within PoE, all possible builds wont get you as far as another. Some builds can be fun but wont get you over t10 or ever t5 maps while other will get you much further with less gear.
"Its early access" God i hate people thag make this comment, if people dont conplain theyll release the full game like this steamy pile of shiet, its awful the end game sucks. Its not good.
I feel its reasonable to call it terrible. There is way to much punishment for making the smallest mistake as well as if you get hit once you could die with the punishment being (loss of map, loss of hours of time, loss of xp) and its not fun at all because these things. There is no down time as well in end game so there is just nothing really fun to do as maps are completely unenjoyable with the consequences and the trials to get ur ascendancy is just horrible.
It's terrible. If the game launched in this same state of balance in 6 months I wouldn't even play it. It's not fun being pigeon holed into maxing every defense category. It's not fun having only a single occult minion even relevant in endgame. It's not fun ignoring crafting entirely and just shopping for every gear piece on trade.

"Its early access" God i hate people thag make this comment, if people dont conplain theyll release the full game like this steamy pile of shiet, its awful the end game sucks. Its not good.
yeah endgame is pretty bad
It feels weird. I'm getting into the T15+ and it feels even more weird to be honest
POe 2 endgame was to end POE 1 and they did it.
I know you need to farm some click bait but blatantly calling it terrible is a real disservice
Actually how I feel with the current system. Its not clickbait. Its actually what I think.
@@gringoboy701 you do not need to play meta you can play whatever you want will you be slower 100% but do not tell that you can not play other build and about defense if you are good at dodge you do not need so much.
It’s early access bro relax 😂
Maybe early access but how will they improve it if no one says anything?
This is what early access is for …. Criticism
It’s 50% of the endgame 50% of the campaign 50% of the classes released in the early access why are you complaining about that when you have another 50% to touch..betas are for polishing the game not polishing your knobs it’s not tryna make one person happy its getting feedback from what’s happening in the game
i find the game un-fun
i was bored after act 3
the maps are big
so u can spend your money on mounts
its just a game cool down
Did I rage? For once I actually felt like I was pretty chill about it.
