- Fr. Anthony Stephens, CPM preaches the homily on the 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time, Jesus warns us that what comes out of the heart is what defiles us. Catholics need to be sure that unforgiveness is not something that takes root within our hearts. Forgiving others is like bacon: it gains grace for each of us and adds savor to our spiritual life.
May God bless you all for your viewership.
This Homily was given on September 1st, 2024, at the Chapel of Divine Mercy in Auburn, KY at the 10:00am Sunday Mass. We welcome anyone who would like to attend in person...806 Shaker Museum Road Auburn Kentucky 42206.
May God bless you all!

The Congregation of the Fathers of Mercy, which was founded in 1808, originally under the title of “The Missionaries of France.” The community was founded for the purpose of re-evangelizing the people of France after the Catholic Faith had been subjected to years of attacks and persecution during the French Revolution. It is now exclusively an American community. The Generalate of the Congregation is located in Auburn, Kentucky. The primary apostolate of the Fathers of Mercy is to conduct parish missions and retreats throughout the United States and other countries when called upon. The Congregation also staffs The National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion in Green Bay, WI, and two rural parishes in the Archdiocese of Louisville, Kentucky.
This homily is pure Catholic gold.
Much needed message. Thank you, Father and God Bless!
Thank you so, so much Father Anthony Stephens. God bless you.
சேசுவுக்கே புகழ்... மரியாயே வாழ்க 🙏
The UK is in desperate need of priests similar to Fathers of Mercy. Loud, clear and with passion. Amen. 🙏
Pray for conversion of the Anglican Church back to unity with the Catholic Church. England has a wretched history over the past 500 years that needs to be healed and forgiven. St. Thomas More pray for us.
Thank you for this homily, fr.
Thank you Fr. ❤️🙏🏼✝️
Thank you for addressing the evils we are experiencing today. So many will not preach on this subject. You are awesome. Wish more Catholics could hear you and understand this message.

GOD BLESS US ALL AND HAVE PEACE IN OUR LAND 🙏🙏🙏
Grant us the grace, Lord, to completely forgive those who have hurt us. And for those whom we hurt to forgive us. Amen.
Thank you Jesus for Bacon and shrimp!!!!
For you or for the cat?
Excellent homily, Father! I never heard such powerful homily here in Europe. We definitely need more priests like you!
The problem why Catholic Church attendance is dropping is simple: the priests got too comfortable and their faith lukewarm and contaminated withsecular ideology. They preach social justice and "being nice" rather than the Gospel.
Fathers of Mercy should consider expansion to Europe and to wider world. 👍
Thank you Fr. Tony. Your homily has enabled me to finally forgive Fr. John Broussard for paying for my dinner after I had invited HIM out to dinner.😊
Excellent homily, Father!
Wow. So helpful. This homily will stay with me for a long time. A lot to consider , remember and share.
thank you. I appreciate your word.
These Catholic priests are amazing. I noticed that there is great love inside of them. Their preaching is often second to none. There's no need for all the shouting and waving hands in the air up at the pulpit. What they preach is true love, and that's all that matters. Glory be to God. ✝️
You sick brainwashed deluded clown
Fabulous homily
Thank you father!
forgiveness is a decision. but I don't forget.
We don't forget - otherwise we would never learn since we learn from our mistakes. Often trusting someone who is not worthy is a great mistake
@@valwhelan3533 I agree
I will miss your calming voice. Thank you for everything! Blessings on your new adventure !!
“Forgiveness is like bacon.”
I’m listening…
Absolutely correct Father thank you
The e enemy always recycles the bad to make us feel as though we did not forgive…. It brings back sadness and stress
The enemy is a liar and a thief… stealing peoples peace and lives .
Father Anthony Stephen my son's name it's not by chance l came across u pray for my son Anthony whose an alcholic God bless him and keep him safe he's suffered a lot please pray for my son to be the man our dear saviour jesus CHRIST has ordained him to be Lord have mercy on us all ❤
I will pray daily for your son. Childrearing makes us humble.......
Especially helpful to know you suffer the same challenge I do and that is forgiveness and praying for people that live lives I feel are offending God. My constant struggle.
I understand forgiveness. What most people living in sin seem to bypass or ‘forget’ is repentance. Everything listed in this Gospel reading is grounds for grave matter or Mortal Sin. To presume God’s mercy is also a sin. These are teachings of the Church too. There is true mercy and false mercy.
Example: Adultery. You’re committing it on a daily basis, don’t plan on fixing it and presume you’re forgiven because Jesus died for all our sins.
Thank you
🙏 ❤️ 🙏
Sounds yummy but I can't afford that.
Fathers of Mercy, Dude, you're killing it! Let's collab and make magic.
Fathers of Mercy, wanna collab dude
Forgiveness is like bacon. It’s really greasy, and if you have too much of it you’ll clog your arteries and have a heart attack.
yeah but it tastes so good...
Stupid analogy using bacon to describe forgiveness the homily itself is good other than the fact that you don't want to say who the better candidate is even though we know.. bacon really isn't that good.
bacon isn't that good? Heresy!!
