Congratulations Wayne Wonder. As a Jamaican who has lived outside Jamaica for over twenty years, I enjoyed this interview and the opportunity to get to know Wayne Wonder and the contributions that he has made to reggae music. Wayne, your humility, love for your fellow man and desire to help others shine through. I can now understand the connection and bond between you and Buju, Bless
Most definately he is all of that and then some. I'm such a fan, he is so cool😎 and humble. His music can be played anywhere, anytime, for any age. He is such a talented crooner. I just love to hear him tells his musical story about his journey, it is so engaging, inspiring and entertaining. I would listen to him all day. Blessings and Respect Wayne everytime. I think your such a Great artist who has been underrated and not given the accolades that he truly deserves but hoping in time it will be received, because it's never too late.👏 😍💯👍🙏 WAYNE'S INTERVIEWS ARE ALWAYS SO ENGAGING!! Wow, Wow! He can do anything musically....HIS CATALOG HIS HUGE!! 🎼 🎹 🎼 He has taught us so much about Dancehall musical journey that the world never knew. Thanks Wayne for sharing!!
Big respect to Wayne Wonder! I remember when you came to my high school in Kingston, Jamaica in early 1992 to perform for a youth TV programme called 'Rappin' the song you sang was called 'Nothing Compares To You' It was dep pon di Yush riddim! I was a young youth at the time and when you came to my high school. Your performance that day was wicked! I was standing next to my teacher and my girlfriend and you started to sing inna di school front yard and all of the girls were screaming when you started singing! You shoulda bring Buju with you that day to my high school.
Wayne Wonder always humble, never hype... just a cool individual, much rispek for the contribution that you're still putting into this great music... 👊👊
Wow! Wayne wonder wrote Deportee and Rubbers... @18:43 Right. "Wayne Wonder was the first Jamaican star. Before Bob and Peter and Bunny and Dennis and Gregory. Before Shabba and Beenie, Cobra, and Shaggy there was Wayne Wonder. In fact legend has it that Wayne Wonder actually created Jamaican music and reggae. Before Wayne Wonder there were no other stars at Penthouse like Beres or Gregory Isaacs. Before Wayne Wonder there were no musical recordings on the entire island. Its because of Wayne Wonder that Jamaica is known for its music worldwide. Did you know Wayne Wonder personally wrote the entire Jamaican constitution by hand in 5 minutes? Legend also has it that it was actually Wayne Wonder and not Columbus who was the first to shake hands with the Arawaks. Most people dont know this, but the only reason Jamaica achieved independence in 1962 was because Wayne Wonder was in private negotiations with the queen. Wayne Wonder was the inventor of ska music, and he actually performed every single saxophone and trumpet note that was recorded on the island during the 1960's under various aliases. Wayne Wonder also invented calypso music and was the founding father and original visionary of the Jamaican tourism industry. He brought in all the cruise ships and built all the beautiful hotels and resorts. Wayne Wonder was the first to discover bauxite on the island. Wayne Wonder was the first man to ever plant coffee on the island as well. He also sowed the very 1st ganja seeds on the island. Also during the one love peace concert when Bob joined the hands of Seaga and Manley, it was actually waynes idea, and Wayne did it first. When Selassie plane landed in Kingston, it was actually Waynes idea. If you look closely in the photos from that day, you can see Wayne in the background directing the entire event. When Paul Bogle decided to stand up for himself and his fellow Jamaicans, it was actually Wayne Wonders idea. He did it first. Wayne Wonder also wrote every one of Garvey's speeches and articles. Yes, Wayne Wonder is truly a national hero and a pioneer. The 1st everything in Jamaica. Without Wayne, there is no Jamica. Because Wayne did it first."- Chin
