Alaska - Through the Inside Passage with the folding kayak

After two and a half weeks on the kayak and around 430 paddled kilometers I've reached the Alaskan capital of Juneau earlier than expected! Although the weather was rainy most of the time I was mostly spared from severe storms (and therefore used up only 2 of my 6 backup days).
This trip was one of the most beautiful experiences ever... To see so many wild animals in such a remote place and living so close to the elements was often just mind blowing 😍 Having bears, whales and seals right around my kayak and camp was an experience of its own.
Moments like approaching an untouched area in order to set camp without really knowing what's expecting me or having whales appearing right next to me were mesmerizing and will stay with me for a long time.
The trip was challenging as well. Paddling around 6h a day, being wet constantly at only 11C with winds up to 35 knots (65 kph) and waves up to 2m is one thing. But the salmon season also brought out bears in an unexpected amount. There were not many sites I've checked for camping that didn't have recent signs of those beautiful but not harmless animals which often lead to extra kilometers of paddling or unrelaxed nights which on the other hand provoked fatigue that can be dangerous in this environment traveling alone.
But all in all I wouldn't want to miss one single second of this trip! In the end it were also these challenging situations that made it the adventure I was looking for!
