Such a beautiful part of the world. Thank you for showing it to us. Great happiness for you in your new endeavors. (By the way, you have a precious baby!!!). I look forward to watching more from your channel.
Hey Peggy, so nice thank you for your message. Its is really beautiful here in the North! And my little Torsten is the cutest ever ;) Have a nice evening! Carmijn
Yes, things grow slower up here, there is a reason to why like berries taste so good up in the north, they have the midnightsun to grow on ... slow but steady... and aparently that makes them taste so much better. We used to grow strawberries at the cabin, they where very sweet indeed. (I live much further north than Andøya tough). But living of the nature or atleast partly of the nature is good, should be good I think. Lots of people up here do that .. like harvest from nature in various ways.
Thank you so much for your nice messages 💛🙏 Do you think that I can freeze the berries? Does it loose the vitamins? Interesting about the light and growth!! What kind of things they harvest in the North more?
@@redleafhill I am sure you can freeze the berries, they do that all the time up here, like the lingonberries and blueberries they most definitly do freeze, I know people here that pick like over 100 kg of berries a season for the winters. Used in cakes and dinners ofcourse. Krøkebær (don't know the english word for it, many do make sweet juice extract, my grandmother used to make the best in the world ... in my opinion 😛 And drying mushroms, but there you need to know what you do so you don't pick the wrong none-edible mushroms.
@@arcticblue248 Oh so much!! But it could be that the vitamine Will be gone after freezing it? Wauw the juice :) I Will see if i can pick also Some Krøkebær. I'm also going to pick bleuberry today
