Great reaction, you're correct with your interpretation. The Knowing is about a girl that cheated on Abel, but he did all that back the days so he don't feel sad but did the same thing on her cause he knows she can't handle that situation like him...but obviously at some point he feels sad because he saw his reflection on her and make him thought about the bad way he was before.
There are many faint representation on the knowing(his Ethiopian heritage) like the churches, emperor, alphabetical dialect and so much on. He also integrates Amharic(Ethiopia's official language) into his biggest hits outro like the hills and false alarm.
when he says “did you have to tell your friends about the way i got you screaming my name” i always thought he was talking to fans about how’s become more popular and mainstream. great reaction tho 👍
@@a.j.c.m5912 its a double-entendre, he does that in alot of songs, and that same theme comes up especially in kiss land (professional and adaptation especially)
The title "Twenty Eight" refers to the amount of grams that make an ounce. So the song is also probably talking about cocaine when he says he let her enter into his life but she stayed, because now he's addicted. In my opinion, the song refers to 3 things: a girl, fame, and cocaine. It also talks about his insecurities, when he says "I'm so wrong to let you in my home, now you know where I sleep, never felt so damn weak". He regrets being vulnerable with a person because now they have power over him, and he feels weak. It's one of my favorite songs from him.
First of all the language is not romanian it’s Amharic language which is from Ethiopia 🇪🇹 and The Weeknd or his real name Abel mekonnen Tesfa is from Ethiopia his parents from Ethiopia so his is grow up speaking Amharic and his integrate Amharic languages with his songs like the hill so then the whole video tells about The Ethiopian Empire(haile silassie),about the old monarchy church ,about Art etc …….So it’s all about Ethiopia 🇪🇹
I’m so sorry you’re sick 😞 Abel is Ethiopian, his parents immigrated here when he was little. The man in the beginning was Haile Selassie, the Emperor of Ethiopia from 1930-1974. Other than that I’m not sure the specific reason or what he represents in the video. But your analysis of the video was correct or at least what I thought too. You should watch it again when feel better 🖤 Don’t even get me started on how The Knowing is blocked and Twenty Eight isn’t 😂 I can’t even believe it’s still on YT lol Someone else said, “All in all, Twenty Eight is all about the Weeknd singing about his frustration about the fact that he is a public image now and how he won’t be able to live his life the way he used to anymore.” So pretty much what you said 😊 I will get you set up for the next album after the After Hours bonus tracks.
the knowing video is about his twisted way of understanding his Ethiopian heritage(the ark of the convenient , 900 year rock churchs, one of the biggest empire the world ever seen or Axum and history and a prophecy that Ethiopia will rise again.the Cristian empire ended when Haileslase over thrown.
Hey MT hope you are already feeling better! Quick question do we think Able is letting his girlfriend get a taste via a "suck job" ;) or something else inappropriate to talk about over UA-cam? 🙄
🤣🤣 in the love we decided it’s a mouth job since , if you do it yourself, is a hand job. But I do hope I do not get blocked again by just being honest and genuine about it 😉😱
Really appreciate you fighting through the fever, I had the same in December and it was a struggle! The thing with the Weekend is I like the sound of his songs, but I pickup almost nothing in the lyrics, it's almost pure melody to me, so while I like the vibe it doesn't leave me really wanting more. But I'm sure I'll be back next weekend regardless!
@@MommaTaunT Hahaha, always upfront and straight forward! Like you say if that many boobs are allowed, then surely this is fine! Also next livestream (when you feel better) I'd love to ask more about the mental health counselling you do :)
Finally I got it up ! Got blocked several times and being sick did not help either … so be nice and leave a like and sub 😘
the "but baby it don't hurt" part on The Knowing gives me goosebumps every time.
Every single time. I wait for it lol

Good call !! I don’t know that much about drugs so I would have never guessed it
Much better than my explanation 🖤
The language is romanian. The video was shot in Romania, and the guy who was speaking is a romanian actor :)
Thank you … I could not hear it

@@MommaTaunT My pleasure 🖤 Thank you for the great reactions! 🖤
He represents how the weeknd felt when he was betrayed by the one he loved that emperor was betrayed by his own people and over thrown

You're writing stuff and missing important plot elements 🤦🏿♂️
It'll probably be better if you reacted to each album in sections so you understand the story he's telling
I did 😉
