It definitely becomes easier with time! I always try to lessen the stakes and take the pressure off so posing comes more naturally from the start. I always begin with having them sort of adjust parts of their clothing or hair, etc. and then call out to them to hold certain poses from there! It’s also super helpful to come prepared with some screenshots of poses you’d like them to recreate - this just helps them get your vision across more clearly :)
Hi Brendon. My problem as a beginner photographer is always that I worry that if I go out with a model to shoot in the city, I won't find good backgrounds. It makes me frustrated and I don't look confident in front of the model. Can you advise me on this? How can I overcome this, this fear?
Totally understand this, it can be super scary going out for a shoot without knowing what you’re going to get for backgrounds… I’d recommend location scouting the day before! Walk around and find a route beforehand at the same time your shoot will be and keep in mind how the light is hitting. You can pin these spots on your maps and go with your model together on your shoot day!

Every payday I buy a ten dollar sd card. Then I throw them everywhere in every bag, glovebox and every camera has one that just stays in.
