Hi Paul most impressive demonstration but the one thing that I can never find out with all of this long distance casting and I'm only a moderate caster what kind and type in flyline do you use to achieve this.
Hi Michael, this line is the Scientific Anglers Mastery Expert Distance 120ft Orange competition line - the one we use in the world championships. It's a 5WT and has a 72' head from memory (I might be corrected on that!). I'm also a big fan of Double Taper lines, for this style I would be holding the backing knot in my hand with a 90ft line. If you're interested in some advice on casting joining the Sexyloops Board would be a great idea. There are lots of instructors here and we always like meeting new friends :) Thanks Michael. Cheers, Paul
Ah sorry I misread casting for catching 😂 This line is the SA Mastery expert distance 5WT. It’s 120’ long. It will shoot to the backing of course but carrying it to this point is beyond my abilities 😎
I am casting vicariously, beautifully done
Everything about this is perfect. Poetry in motion. Very well done. One of the fly casting GOATS for sure.
Stunning casting, especially in that wind.
Amazing balance. And quite surprising how little of the lower body you happen to need. Most people would have been swimming on the first back cast. :D
CO Fly Fish it’s certainly a lot better with weight shift, but sometimes you need to fish off a log. 😊

So, are you casting into your backing?
😀 nope that’s just a hit of fun. My fishing here in the jungle is all about sight fishing quick shots. ua-cam.com/video/w2CbDvO2dIU/v-deo.html

Best of, and tight lines, and please tell me you can’t see fish from 120’
