Axis Invasion is STILL Amazing - Sniper Elite 5

- Sniper Elite 5 axis invasion gameplay is still incredibly fun in 2023. One of the most unique game modes online against other players. Something I wish other games would adopt but for now I'm just happy people are still playing it and having a good time.

Been busy moving / DIYing but should be back gaming good and proper soon. Cracking to go back to some Sniper Elite and just play a few casual games. Axis Invasion is just so, so good.

0:40 to 0:50 is actually such a perfect clip to show how it feels to be an axis player. You spend a bunch of time figuring out where bodies lie and objectives are completed to figure out where the enemy sniper might be so you can get that beautiful 300m snipe you’ve dreamed of. You turn a normal hallway, and you see the fucker looking away from you prone on the floor. Or you round a corner and bump into them, making it just who presses e first
There is a similar mode like this in DEATHLOOP, but the invader in that game isn't as fun as the Sniper Jager.

This reminds me of the original Watch Dogs. You could invade a person's game and blend in to the pedestrians. It was so much fun. My only complaint was that you could always tell when someone was in your game because your pause menu wouldn't pause the game anymore. I always felt it would have been much more fun if there were no way to know when someone was in your game.
Indeed. Would love it if the players had 3 options. No invasions, Invasions with notification you have been invaded, and invasion with no notification so you always have to assume there is an invader. And the one time you don't, will be when you get sniped!
Killing the player by shooting *through* the friendly is fucking amazing
I always called this kind of multiplayer "counter-operative" after what they called it in the original Perfect Dark on N64. It was the first place I found this kind of gameplay, where one player is just playing the single player campaign, and another player is playing the same campaign but as one of the enemies trying to prevent the player from completing the level. Of course, it was splitscreen and not online, but the concept was very similar. Even back then I desperately wished more games had something similar, and to this day pretty much only this and the souls games really have it. Maybe you could also count Left 4 Dead where you can play as special infected I guess. There's probably some others out there, maybe some that escape me right now, but it's so rare and it's a shame because it's always so much fun.
hey @MB93 ! Just wanted to give you a small tip, if You want to change your loudout as the Axis Invader, You can change it in the shoting range. Hope Rebellion didnt fix this yet lol

Played an invasion while watching/listening to this. Same skin. It was a coop mission 5 and they split up and confused me. I got them a few times and especially one of them got me multiple times. They declined a rematch and ended the invasion after I had killed one of them again and the other immediately got revenge. Such an addictive game mode.

More games should really do this, only thing i am missing in this game is a beter/ more detailed story. Stil without a good story the game stil slaps gameplay is amazing and the invasion is just to much fun.

Tried invasion for the first time today first 6 matches they just end up dying from the soliders, i didnt even get to try lol

One thing I noticed to see if it’s one or two is looking at the top left. For example the first game had one silhouette on the ribbon while the second game (1:22) had two silhouettes
Also I want to get this game but I’m not sure if I want to have invasions on in my first play through. On one hand it seems like it would be fun trying to outwit someone while not noting the map. But on the other I’m the type to methodically go through the map reading every soldier’s info and having someone on your tail doesn’t help with that. But I’ll probably do invasions on cause that’s my only chance to experience it that way.
You can disable Invasion if you want to play SP without it.
Just turn it off. Axis Invasion has 3 settings. On which is default. Invite only or OFF.

Sometimes there is just times where I don’t see where the other player is but he just shouts it out as if he is right in front of me lol 😂😂😂
Not sure if you’ve noticed this by now but you’ll know if there is a cooperator with a host of the icon on your top left has 2 white player icons when there is usually is 1 if the host is alone.
I remember on my first time playing sniper elite 5, I got invaded and I freaked out because I didn’t know what was happening, I was very nooby back then…

I actually just picked up Sniper elite 5 thanks to your older videos and started playing the campaign with invasions on! Can definitely be tough as the one being invaded, especially when I get invaded on the first mission right after I just alerted a fort of like 15 guys who are all looking for me lol. Its really fun though!

Yeah it's good. Until you get the one player who plants mines everywhere and hides in cadet difficulty because he can't shoot.
This is the best to watch, lot of fun.

What's your loadout
I love this mode... but it does have a few niggles .. such as you can mantle a 6ft wall, but you can't step over a 1ft wall or plank of wood... also, you can't drop down sometimes when you push the circle on playstation, it climbs back up instead of dropping down.... it can take up to 20mins to find a game and when you do it's always with the same few people...there is nothing worse than tracking someone for 15 minutes and they Just leave the game... and you have just wasted your time... also, i have been dying recently by being shot around a corner or from an impossible angle where the enemy couldn't even see me... otherwise I am loving this game
They needed to do more after 100 kills.
Once you've done 100, theres no incentive. 109 now and im bored

Perhaps a dumb challenge idea but I still want opinions. The grunt challenge. You are a regular German Army soldier you must have a realistic load out equipped and must follow every order given by other Germans.
