Sometimes I have a need to cry, a deep need. Music can make this happen - especially a good recording of “Erbarme dich”. This video is very effective. It was shot in the intimate atmosphere of an empty concert hall with an ensemble of just twelve musicians, where the solo violin and mezzo-soprano are recorded with clarity and balance, where the camera is still and the changes to point of view are minimised, where Romberger is able to express the emotion both tonally and visually.
