One was the Radiology Manager at a medical clinic, that was fun. She told me she can't even wear a watch because the battery will die within a week. So some people _do_ cause odd issues with electronics and electricity. An odd, unexplained phenomenon worth exploring.

I'm a selectively right-handed person. I use my left for most things requiring "dexterity", but then had to use a mouse, scissors, can openers, etc on the right - mechanical tasks. For example, have difficult finding which side of the mat to bat on in baseball. Also similarly, I couldn't figure out which hand to throw with in baseball, and could catch a ball better with my right hand. Played a lot of soccer and loved to dance to medieval music like the saltrello.. Had the same experience in school with behavior, but with exceptional grades. I was suspended several times for behavior or dress code violations. I struggled with learning to ride a bike, but eventually did after continued efforts and many falls. Somehow convinced myself when I was 8 years old that walking my bike on the curb made it appear to others that I was riding my bike- was always comparing myself to people 2-8 years older than myself probably due to having a psychotic older sibling. dude i thought i was crazy with the street lights... but it extends to technology/electronics in general.. i feel like my shit becomes possessed and its almost anytime i am wanting to show someone something or really really need the shit to work
a true crazy thing about me. When I was in elementary school I was also not mentally stimulated. many of the things you talked about I did myself. I had 3 passions in those days that really predetermined my career/careers so to speak. I was super obsessed with science like you, the entire thing, did the look at my own blood thing as well. I would do math/physics problems and literally I won state wide competitions by 6th grade in those fields, I would just make up problems and determine all the factors and the controls and well all of it, which I think is in my blood in all honesty. the incredible interest in physics led me later to become an engineer which I am today. the second I became super obsessed with astronomy/astrology/space travel in general. I would study all about space and all about the "secret" meanings of the universe. that became not a huge deal in my life, but it did somewhat influence me to attempt to become a helicopter pilot in the army. the last thing is me and a few friends would take graph paper and draw up literal battlefield plans and strategies, and compare, and sometimes re-enact the strategy. This helped greatly later on in life because I did become US intel NCO for Army, and many of the things I did as a kid made me into the person I am today by which I what stimulated me during a time in my life where the menial classwork was just that menial and time consuming for no reason, for me at least. my wife says she had to use that time to study, I asked her why did you attempt to memorize the info instead of learn it, learning is different, learning takes interest and comprehension. honestly, this is why im homeschooling my daughter, she does enough things outside of the home so she wont be socially retarded, but she is super intelligent for her age and I will not treat her as my parents did me nor the teachers or schools. they only try to place everyone at the same exact intelligence, yet this severely degrades most people's intelligence or capability of that IQ to the Majority level which in the US is like 100... someone like me who is 139 its really difficult to keep my mind on focus for something that is completely menial as 100 level IQ. those who don't understand, IQ 139 makes me in the top 3% of the entire world, and 100 although better than many parts of the world is only 20 points higher than the top level IQ for mentally retarded, 80.
I saw a UFO out in a research park, and after the (rather intimate) sighting, my friend and I took off. Just up the road were street lamps and traffic lights, all blinking on and off and changing the colors. You reminded me of it.
I'm selectively left-handed too - I know exactly what you mean. I am predominantly left, but there are certain specific tasks that feel unnatural with my left and have to be done with my right.
Tom Rogers me tooooo! I can do most things with both hands but computer mouse, right hand. If I use an iPad tho, I use my left hand. I think tho that was learned...
I have selective dexterity, not quite ambidexterity. When I was younger, I purposely practiced some things (like writing) with both hands because a classmate had broken their dominant arm - which caused them great difficulty with doing their schoolwork - and I saw this approach as a fail-safe, however impractical it may have been. But I am predominantly right-handed and always use my left hand to lock and unlock doors, played hockey left handed, use my left hand to operate/navigate my phone, and tend to pick up objects with my left hand more often than not.
I can tell you how to ride a bike The trick is to keep pedaling until you've gained enough speed to where the bike balances itself for the most part. When you slow down, or stop you have to put one foot on the ground, and keep the other on a pedal in an upwards position, when you start riding again kick the foot on the pedal down with all the weight you have so you have enough momentum to get the other foot back on the pedal (If you choose, you can also skate the bike forward with the foot you gave on the ground a few times to achieve more momentum), then repeat *EDIT* Also when making sharp turns on a Bicycle, you should reduce speed just like a car, and ever so slightly lean into the turn, for beginners it might also be more helpful to glide your foot on the ground in the direction your turning, in case your bike starts to tip over Also there is definitely use to knowing how to ride a bike, If there's ever a situation where the oil stops coming in (Runs out, War, etc) Bicycles will be the only way to get around in a timely manner.
In 2nd grade, I wrote this series of books called "Bear and Dragon," which mostly consisted of the 2 main characters (Beat and Dragon) committing acts of mischief, vandalism, and occasional violence. It was a hit...but not w/ the teachers!
In second grade I lined an 8.5x11 sheet of paper into six sections and used them as comic panes for "The Adventures of Paris-Man and Jarod Alea" which involved two guys who saved princesses and surfed through the skies of Northern Michigan on a lightning bolt and magic carpet respectively :)
At my first job, when I was 15, I drew comics based on the supper club where I worked. They were funny to some of us, anyhow. Once, I had Carl Sagan show up and get into a hair-pulling fight with Bonnie, the kitchen manager. She was a pill.
I remember fake having seizures when we had substitutes and run from class to class yelling "Bees!" while swatting the air. Glad to see other people acted similarly around middle school age.
Eat, write and draw left handed, shoot and throw right handed. Depending on the tool i switch between the two. Lived in 8 states, been to 27 and 3 countries. Political belief system is rooted in the spirit of 1776 and 1789. If this double posted, my apologies, my ipad rebooted the page for some reason.
Typical. You have a whole building full of so-called professional educators and they can't figure out how to engage the brightest children. When they encounter a child of above average intelligence the first thing they want to do is put them on ADHD drugs to dumb them down.
I write, play instruments left handed, but I bowl. throw darts, & generally tend to pick things up or carry things right handed. And wow I thought I was the only 1 who had the street light interference problem. My other weird problem is the " postman delivery problem" that being no matter what time of day it is at random I chose to walk out and get the mail the mailman is just driving up. 1:01pm 2:17pm 3:31pm 4:43pm take your pick no matter what random time it was the postman was always just pulling up to start distributing the mail. This problem got to be so annoying I gave up getting the mail during the day I only get it at night when I know there's no possible way the postman can be there.
If you could film the street lights going on an off and do a compilation that would be very interesting video. I do know one person who can't wear a watch it is odd.
Styx you sound like me when I was a kid 😂 I always used to get into trouble for making other kids laugh and passing around notes cause I was so fucking BORED always hearing about stuff I'd already read at home
Thank you for sharing that. It is so awesome that you have made your issues your power. Your story was like my home, my daughter does many of these things, she like you is extraordinary person who achieves things others never even imagined to do. But she likes rude and to shock people, she thinks its funny, then effervescent giddy shows up. I'm glad you talk about these things there are so many that need to hear its okay to be different and you can be successful being who you are.
How interesting, to see an old video of you talking about odd things. The streetlight thing used to happen to me when I was younger, and then pretty much stopped.
Styx... Thanks for sharing. I've got the selective left handedness too... Same exact thing with a guitar. I'm also self aware and notice lights dim when I walk in a room. You're in good company.
Nikola Tesla, Leonardo DeVinci, Einstein, Benjamin Franklin, Jimi Hendrix (and myself) are selective right/left handed. That's cool to run into people with this trait. Very rare
2 weird things about me: one I tend to tune into information on radio or TV when it's pertinent to my life. I had tuned out for a minute on THIS video and tuned back in when you started talking about the electronics thing. They call me 'Power button' in my home (and that's the second weird thing) it's because I have a weird effect on electronics. My sister-in-law does too. Street lights regularly turn off and on for her. Have a great day Styx; fun learning more about you.
I loved this vid and will continue to do so. 1. I have no sense of direction other than up and down. Left and right I understand, but sometimes I have to think: "which is my Guitar strumming hand? I can read backwards, upside down, and backwards thru the page in English or Chinese, direction doesn't matter. I travel alot and I get lost alot. 2. I remember things that happened to me when I was 2 years old. Can't remember where I put my keys, but I remember cutting my finger with a potato peeler when I was 2. 3. I was blessed to have known all 4 of my grandparents and at various times I had extended one on one conversations with each. 4. I have a fear of drowning. I learned to SCUBA dive before I learned to swim. 5. I can't hula hoop or skip rope.
I didn't learn how to ride a bike until I was 10. It does take a lot of self confidence and the right state of mind. What really got me going was I was surrounded by my peers who were laughing at the fact that I didn't know how to ride a bike. So I asked my friend if I could see his bike for a second and I just jumped on and took off. That's how I learned how to ride a bike.
I was an honor student thruout school too. I'd finish my work real fast and get into trouble out of boredom. Get up to sharpen my pencil like 15×. Got suspended for an essay on current events the whole school had to participate in. Said the essay could be on anything, news, weather, sports, comics, etc. Lucky me that day Jeffery Dahmer made front page. I was told i was the only one in the whole school that wrote about that and got a D- for it. I said, "all the more reason i shoulda gotten an A!!! Front page news and I'm the only one who touched it!" They called in my mom and claimed i got the low grade because i glorified it which is nonsense. I went to an all black school in Detroit and the administration was black too and racist af. Shit like that is why good kids say fuck school and join a street gang or become a drug dealer with aspirations of becomming a real life Scarface.
It's ok Styx! I don't know how to drive a fucking car! Major turn off for women! I've had 3 women leave me because of that! Your thoughts? Can you do a video on that?
I figured as much on the personality type, I test evenly between INTJ and INTP but your logic and thinking tend to feel very in line with what I envision as the INTJ typing. I also had significant issues in school with mental stimulation, though it sounds like less of an issue for me than it was for you. I wish my parents and teachers had understood that I was bored of the menial classwork that I had to do in elementary and middle school and maybe had I been involved in higher level courses I would have been challenged and gotten involved instead of coasting and spending 90% of my class time drawing and imagining what I would do when I got out of school. It might not help because it's more physical practice than a mental series of steps, but it may help if you try balancing on one leg and then pedaling the bike forward to take off. It's easier to focus your energy on moving the bike forward and gaining momentum than it is on trying to adjust yourself and the bike horizontally for some sort of ideal balance. Once you have momentum it becomes very easy to adjust slightly when you have issues but when you're taking off at first it can be difficult. If you find yourself trying to learn to ride a bike, I hope this helps.
Leon Wynne That happens to me when I'm angry or upset. I was so pissed at my ex-husband once, I blew all the bulbs in the living room lamps AND our 60" tv!
I also on occasional instances have street lamps go of in front of me. Since I was around 14 I noticed that. Now am 32 and I still sometimes experience this happening. It’s random but it happens so often.
I enjoy your personality and your videos very much. :) I can make the EXACT sound of water dripping by whistling and tapping my cheek at the same time :)
***** oh no, I just got a visualization of getting close enough to a rattlesnake to sniff it just to see if it smells like cucumber! Yikes! My mind jumped away just as quickly as it could. Interesting how your suggestion was immediately "followed" by my brain.
Cole Hunter It's not that they smell - it's that it's possible to have an allergic reaction to them even when not ingested. I've had an allergy to eating honeydew melon and cantaloupe since childhood, which makes the roof of my mouth itch and my tongue and lips tingle. Even being in the same room while they're being cut up is unbearable - I have to leave. Cucumber belongs to the same plant family as melons (Cucumis), so my reaction to it is the same.
I use to have that happen to me as well. Also Radios would fuzz out, like if walked down an isle at a store that had radios playing they would all go to static as i walked by. Several of my old army buddies thought it was funny.
Wow, I never thought I would here of ANYBODY else with street lights going out. I delivered newspapers in early AM for years with this happening to me and tried to chalk it up to coincidence. But again delivered a.m. papers from 2010-2013, same thing! I'm 62 years old now.
Ferns, mushrooms, and steep trails. Yeah, I grew up in NH. Also, the air is like heaven compared to TX where I live now. I walk outside and it's flat, feels like death-by-oven, and smells like mold. Then I look at my bike and the tires are shriveled like shed snakeskin. Not that I ride the dumb thing.
I lost my shit when you were talking about passing around those insane cards in class xD I used to purposely try to freak people out in middle school and high school. Sometimes I would draw pictures of weird-ass shit and tape it to the classroom wall or write nonsensical or inappropriate things on the white board and things like that. I'd prank people in the most retarded ways possible with the few friends that I had and we would laugh our asses off. We also couldn't help but break out in laughter when anything mildly sexual happened, and we would try to say things in class in ways that had sexual undertones or innuendos but say it in a serious tone so people couldn't get where we were coming from and shit like that. Good times.
Styx - your story about being the "bad kid" in 5th grade with straight A's really resonated with me. I could have swore you were telling my story instead of yours. That just shows that you're a renegade, rebel, anti-establishment, go left when everyone else goes right kinda guy. That's what I like about you (and myself). I am also selectively left handed in certain things, but not bows or guitars. Specifically driving and lifting heavy objects. Even though I am right handed, my left hand/arm seems to be much stronger than my right. I chalk this up to me picking up heavy things with my left arm and manipulating them with my more dextrous (lol dexter) hand instead of the sinister. ;)
the streetlight thing happens to my wife constantly I never really took her seriously until it would happen a lot when I was with her. she has some kind of extra electrical charge in her as well, she gives shocks all the time. the tuna and pickles thing is my kinda thing too, for some reason I think that sandwich and cream of mushroom soup is comfort food.
Riding motorbikes is fun as hell, I think you'd love it Styx. The well kept secret of riding bikes is countersteering. Check out "Twist of the wrist", the first few minutes is about how bikes work the exact opposite way you'd think at first glance.
Let your nut flag fly, brother! 👊 I can relate on the light anomalies. Lights in general for me, not just the streetlights. Along with various items falling over in my presence. Things that otherwise should not have fallen over.. Very fascinated by these things and hearing about "weird facts" of others.
As far as I can remember I've never lived a single day without being in some kind of pain. I can imagine how it would feel not having to take pain relievers, but it's been so long that I just live with it.
That mad ppl story was Hilarious :D :D One thing I could tell you styx that happened to me, or that I made happen to me, is that I hypnotised myself into hallucinating a war scene IRL in a meeting once. I had tried succeding at this for months and I finally did it. It was so funny in this meeting setting seing the head of the meeting in a uniform, bombs going off in the distance etc and him talking about business stuff, completely absurd so I burst out laughing like crazy. Ppl must have thought I was insane then :D
Both my mother and my grandmother on my father's side couldn't wear a digital watch without the display going blank. They would take them off and they would go back to normal after a time. The street lights flickering out used to happen all the time, but I haven't noticed it for awhile.
1) Get a Primal Gear survival bow they switch from left to right in less than a minute and it doubles as a club. 2) DON'T EAT SHRIMP! a lady I worked with almost died like that and we need you around to keep making videos. 3) When transformers start blowing then stay in the house Styx 4) You were in the wrong school, to bad Charles Xavier didn't find you. 5) I guess no one had to worry about you stealing their bike, park it at Styx's, its safe. Awesome Styx, that answers allot of questions lol
I have experienced the street light phenomenon myself many, many times. It usually happens with the same street lights. if they are on they go out and if they are out they go on.
record yourself walking around street lamps please
YES!
if you could catch that on video it might also short out the internet
Cebapi please, i might gry a bonner
Cebapi weeb lol!
Cebapi Why is that ?? Because it would temporarily turn off ???
I wouldn't call you strange Styx, I think eccentric is a much better description. And how dull this world would be without personalities like yours.
Allen Yes...eccentric.
When one is rich or popular eccentric to the term. When one is not rich or unpopular, then your labeled as weird and a pariah

But I am predominantly right-handed and always use my left hand to lock and unlock doors, played hockey left handed, use my left hand to operate/navigate my phone, and tend to pick up objects with my left hand more often than not.
I can tell you how to ride a bike
The trick is to keep pedaling until you've gained enough speed to where the bike balances itself for the most part. When you slow down, or stop you have to put one foot on the ground, and keep the other on a pedal in an upwards position, when you start riding again kick the foot on the pedal down with all the weight you have so you have enough momentum to get the other foot back on the pedal (If you choose, you can also skate the bike forward with the foot you gave on the ground a few times to achieve more momentum), then repeat
*EDIT* Also when making sharp turns on a Bicycle, you should reduce speed just like a car, and ever so slightly lean into the turn, for beginners it might also be more helpful to glide your foot on the ground in the direction your turning, in case your bike starts to tip over
Also there is definitely use to knowing how to ride a bike, If there's ever a situation where the oil stops coming in (Runs out, War, etc) Bicycles will be the only way to get around in a timely manner.
You’re speaking klingon to me
In 2nd grade, I wrote this series of books called "Bear and Dragon," which mostly consisted of the 2 main characters (Beat and Dragon) committing acts of mischief, vandalism, and occasional violence.
Aha that sounds adorable. You should make that into a published series! (Probably with a different set of values though haha)
Fuck yes!
Expel the kids who need more empowered engagement!
Teachers rock😱-
Typical. You have a whole building full of so-called professional educators and they can't figure out how to engage the brightest children. When they encounter a child of above average intelligence the first thing they want to do is put them on ADHD drugs to dumb them down.
Fact #6: You used to be a bald guy who posted only videos of trip reports and appeared to be 100% apolitical.
At the rate he's receding he's gonna be a bald guy again within the next five years.
There aren’t enough people like Styx in this world.
So glad to hear some more personal things about you Styx. They all sounded normal to me. Except the light flickering thingy.
13:10 styxhexenhammer666's extra-planar activities confirmed.
What hair products do you use?
How interesting, to see an old video of you talking about odd things. The streetlight thing used to happen to me when I was younger, and then pretty much stopped.
I wish we were friends irl :-)
Very rare
I know there are more. Those are the ones I know at the moment
Dom John My husband is selectively left/right handed. And runs power saws equally with both hands.
I'm right handed but use my left to cut food, shoot guns, shoot pool, bows, etc
seriously then i am in good company too as far as selective right left handed plus i also turn streetlights on and off ....
I'm right handed but I shoot bows and guns left handed (might be that I'm left eye dominant)
One of my favorite Styxhexenhammer videos. I put it in my playlist constantly to listen to it while going to sleep x)
styx would be a Slytherin
but one of the good ones, like snape
He is a Slytherin ,not a death eater though ,of course.
No way, a ravenclaw, slyths are cowards.
NOPE, Ravenclaw.
This was cool I'm glad you made this.
On point with the tuna sandwich 👍
2 weird things about me: one I tend to tune into information on radio or TV when it's pertinent to my life. I had tuned out for a minute on THIS video and tuned back in when you started talking about the electronics thing.
They call me 'Power button' in my home (and that's the second weird thing) it's because I have a weird effect on electronics. My sister-in-law does too. Street lights regularly turn off and on for her.
Have a great day Styx; fun learning more about you.
"Dressed up as Hitler"
You're like Cartman on a diet!
And number 6, he enjoys showtunes.
Good to see you laugh and smile Styx
I cannot believe I am saying this but I made the tuna pickle sandwich. It was amazing. Why do I feel embarrassed lol
Finally someone else who fucking hates cucumbers I'm not alone :D
Youre practically a electro magnetic wizard..
7:49 Mandela effect. He said Berenstein Bears.
Cucumbers and watermelons some of my favorites. Yes, mostly sweet water with some crunch. Cleansing too.
I cant stand onions cooked or not
I was an honor student thruout school too.
Do you have the INTJ personality type?
Supposedly yes.
I new it!
I always tested as INTJ and since you mentioned it street lights often turn off or on when i get near them too
+Styxhexenhammer666 I kinda figured. I'm also an INTJ. We're supposed to be the MASTERMINDS. Although I think you're way smarter than me.
I've had lightbulbs blow out on me when I flip switches it's happened a few times lol gets me every time
Leon Wynne That happens to me when I'm angry or upset. I was so pissed at my ex-husband once, I blew all the bulbs in the living room lamps AND our 60" tv!
Leon Wynne relatable
Me too. It all began when my husband purchased a box of Hungarian-manufactured light bulbs. Could it be supernatural?
I also on occasional instances have street lamps go of in front of me. Since I was around 14 I noticed that. Now am 32 and I still sometimes experience this happening. It’s random but it happens so often.
Why do you use cuckchan and not 8chan?
JustPeachy xd
Styx,
I like seeing your cat walk by in video. You have one cool cat. I also like vaping King Tut (sativa) while watching your awesome videos.
Styx ride the bike again.
I enjoy your personality and your videos very much. :) I can make the EXACT sound of water dripping by whistling and tapping my cheek at the same time :)
Cucumbers have a smell???
I for, one, wasn't aware that un-pickled cucumbers that hadn't yet gone rotten smelled like _anything_.
Lol I'm fairly certain they don't, but...Styx has a different opinion, apparently.
#papastyx
Wow, I never thought I would here of ANYBODY else with street lights going out. I delivered newspapers in early AM for years with this happening to me and tried to chalk it up to coincidence. But again delivered a.m. papers from 2010-2013, same thing! I'm 62 years old now.
I got expelled in literally the last week of fifth grade for putting some of my pubes in a girls hair lol
that shit with the street lights happens to me all the time, not only will they turn off or on but sometimes they will ''buzz''.
also every dog i have come into contact with hates me
My wife and I wonder what you do for a living. And, what was your major?
Styx is a professional Swing-Dancer by trade, and he majored in Gender Studies.
political science and botony
HAHAHAH your are crazy
Yeah my wife and her BF Tyrone are also interested
You are wonderful, and very self confident!
Goth Sheldon cooper...
*I LOVE U*
The best thing about you concerning your arguments about current events is your selfreflection.
cucumbers are nasty
I have the same problem with street lights or our farm yard light! Crazy stuff.
LMAO!! That was good! Well worth the time, I'm glad you saved the bike fact for the end. Cracked me up!
Hahaha, yeah I had raging ADHD too. And I drew weird shit too.
Good times.
That street light thing happens with me too all the time on most streets. It's so freaking weird.
DUDE.... The light thing?
ME TOO!!! Street and traffic.
As far as I can remember I've never lived a single day without being in some kind of pain. I can imagine how it would feel not having to take pain relievers, but it's been so long that I just live with it.
Street lights go out on me too. after my dad passed, when I was in highschool.
Yo dude u should do another one of these. I discovered it in Covid times 2020 and entertainment is appreciated
That mad ppl story was Hilarious :D :D
One thing I could tell you styx that happened to me, or that I made happen to me, is that I hypnotised myself into hallucinating a war scene IRL in a meeting once. I had tried succeding at this for months and I finally did it. It was so funny in this meeting setting seing the head of the meeting in a uniform, bombs going off in the distance etc and him talking about business stuff, completely absurd so I burst out laughing like crazy. Ppl must have thought I was insane then :D
You make my day First thing I listen to in the morning
Both my mother and my grandmother on my father's side couldn't wear a digital watch without the display going blank. They would take them off and they would go back to normal after a time. The street lights flickering out used to happen all the time, but I haven't noticed it for awhile.
First time I've ever heard anybody else mention the street light thing!!! I've noticed that about myself for years!
1) Get a Primal Gear survival bow they switch from left to right in less than a minute and it doubles as a club.
2) DON'T EAT SHRIMP! a lady I worked with almost died like that and we need you around to keep making videos.
3) When transformers start blowing then stay in the house Styx
4) You were in the wrong school, to bad Charles Xavier didn't find you.
That is fucking crazy with the street lights because that happens with me every time, i have been noticing this for over 5 years now
