This mall was amazing not even that long ago. When I graduated highschool in 2002 it was still awesome. I never thought I would see it like this. Going to century III used to be our hangout on the weekends.
Every view I watched of this. I can remember what was there. Going there every Christmas season was always great in my youth. Surprised how much this video stirs my heart
What a silent and eerie place. Very nicely done, no narration was a perfect fit for this once lively, now forever dead, faded memory of a vivid and once was place. The hooligans breaking glass even fit the setting. Like beating a dead horse.
i was inside 3 days after fire, there wasnt rain for a while leading up. it was so quiet because noone else was there and no leaking or other people, it was awesome
I didn’t realize that’s how short of a time span it was. How shameful for the damage that was done by vandals inside… only 3 years for it to look like that… I hate people.
I just can't believe how quickly everything deteriorated in there! This used to be such an amazing place, it's so sad to drive past it now, I miss the good ol days of C3! Thank you for posting this, I've been wondering how it's been looking on the inside!
I graduated from West Mifflin class of '85. Can't even tell you how many days I spent in this mall in it's heyday. So sad to see it end like this but....that's life. More memories than I can count here.
I feel great melancholy when seeing the degradation of such a grand building, I makes me sad to think the era of the mall is over and done. Now amazon runs everything and none actually goes to the stores. Heck we didn't even go to shop at malls we went to hang out and eat at the food court. but alas in this digital age which has brought so much progress, things like malls and arcades have been lost to the ever growing evolution of our society. I think how sad it is to hear the echoes of the past in these buildings the once bustling halls now quiet and dark, and the cool and beautiful store fronts now just a shattered façades. It makes me realize how important our time is on this earth, and how we treasure the little things we enjoy while they are around.
For me I remember the mom and pop stores before malls when customer service was king. Malls never had that, you were left to roam through the mall to see if you could find what you were looking for. Prices in malls were also high, remember, guess who paid for all the overhead of shops in malls You did!
I agree. Just mindless adolescence I suppose. That shattering glass was probably at one time, a beautiful display case of seasonal Christmas decoratives that families were able to gaze through a display case filled with joy with what made them happy at that exact moment of time.
Easier to recycle. It was broken before they got there. These places are dangerous. The banks, who own them, should be held responsible to tear them down.
The owners, Moonbeam, don't care about the mall. Instead of fixing it up, they just let it rot and get destroyed like Rolling Acres Mall. Now the mall is in to terrible of a shape to repair. Besides the graffiti, there is mold growing in many places due to water leaks
When I was younger I had a side job of doing the holiday decorations inside of there. The stars hanging were fairly heavy (40-50lbs). If anything this place would make a great haunted house.
At this point, even the ground level is hazardous- and the roof is weak enough that not long after this, someone ended up plummeting 20 feet through the roof, breaking two vertebrae in their back and collapsing a lung. That vandals are busily wrecking stuff is just prime time for another major injury or worse.
Its sad to see how C3 has really become since it closed… I remember it in the late 2000s/early 2010s slowly starting to lose the icon of what it once was. I have so many memories of this place, as well as a so called “shopping route” that my mom would go with me through back when I was a kid. Such a shame that dumb idiots and a awful owner had to ruin something that once was my childhood. I wish I could go back to a time when it was open…
Good video. I use to go there a couple times a month back in its heyday. It was so nice. I bought my wedding dress there. The shop was on the third level. The J. C Penney sign still looks like it’s in good shape. I still have a few things that I purchased at the mall. 😢
Really hard to watch. I lived around Morgantown, WV - about an hour south. 86..88 - HS friends and I loved to take a road trip to enjoy the sights, sounds, food. Hurts to see it this way.
I wish the people doing the actual vandalism would get caught- not only is vandalism a disgusting act but it makes genuine explorers look bad undeservedly because they arent looking to damage anything- only document.
Exactly what I was thinking when I read the message about the kids breaking glass. If only these guys could’ve called the cops on them… but they’d get in trouble too for “trespassing” how about visually preserving a piece of our Pittsburgh history? so glad we have explorers like this with cameras who are willing to explore and pose for us to have forever.
It’s been obvious for many years that Moonbeam doesn’t give any shits about the mall. Plus now that the power has been shut off it’s well on its way to becoming the next “Rolling Acres”.
You're lucky you didn't run into any locals in here, I was stabbed here in the early 00's by some thug, that's when the mall was still open, now it's incredibly dangerous because of what happens in here especially at night
This is just so sad. I grew up spending way too much time here. Started the journey of becoming an arcade advantage player here. Worked here for a year. Learned how to play DDR here. Got all the airbrushing for my costume done here. The day I got back into Nintendo, everything I bought was from the GameStop that was here. So much time just growing up here before everything was online. I remember this mall's decline when you started seeing flagship places like Wendy's bow out. Then KFC. Then half the food court. Definitely getting a "what's the point of it all if everything's going to end up like this" vibe. Also ha 11:40 a penis
It’s such a shame to see a once iconic place be reduced to this. The worst part is, it didn’t have to be this way. Granted there were a lot of outside forces that hurt this mall, but by far the worst factor was bad management.
a couple days ago A teenager just fell 20 feet through the roof of this mall and is in critical condition in the hospital. The town is speeding up discussions a bout tearing the building down because of it.
Why? Sounds like a great place to let ‘natural selection’ take its course…if you’re stupid enough to go on the ceiling of a decaying building you deserve what you get.
Sad ..most people today set on their phones and order things from online stores..sad ..the enjoyment of actually shopping seeing the product soon will be a thing of memories 🤔
After the fire from last month, the police said they weren't playing and will arrest and prosecute anyone who enters the mall. I wouldn't want to take that risk. Nice video though.
This was filmed before or after the fire in April 2023? Sorry, I didn’t spot that scene in the video. I did see what looked like burned flooring near the Liberty Travel and ATT entrance of the mall.
@@brandonmoretti5774 ah, ok cool. Thanks for the info. I was hearing the fire was up in the food court area and they had to also cut vent holes in the roof. Now they supposedly moved all the concrete barrier blocks and anything else they could use to make more barriers to the parking lot and bus lot access… the parking deck was blocked off years ago when I still lived in Pittsburgh. not like that is going to stop someone from just walking up.
Hate to say tell ya? But West Mifflin police coming for ya! All those who broke entry and recorded the mall is about too face max charges and will be arrested soon
The only reason why they went after Exploring With Brody was because they were being stupid and admitted to breaking in, and were threatening to vandalize the property. This guy was just filming the state of decay the mall is in so he’ll most likely be fine.
@@butterboiii9810 yeah not sure who they're all after, and no doubt few of these videos like this one are put together actually nice giving the history and all

Because they have no respect for an abandoned building especially when people refuse to make them accountable for their actions
I agree. I just never understood what they got out of it. Is it instant gratification or releasing anger or what? It's a shame, though.
Just another reason I hate humans and prefer to be around animals

I helped set up a Jackson Hewitt kiosk there back in 2016. Even then the mall was in decline.
Finally! Ive been waiting for like a month for someone to go in since the 2nd fire happened. Cant wait towatch this tbh.

So depressing to see how Moonbeam has treated C3 and West Mifflin and surrounding areas
Shit, can we just find the owner of Moonbeam and like...have him whacked or something?
I miss going to malls and shopping good times i want it back
It’s been obvious for many years that Moonbeam doesn’t give any shits about the mall. Plus now that the power has been shut off it’s well on its way to becoming the next “Rolling Acres”.
The water ingress is usually a sign that the structural collapse is in the works.

Wow thanks for sharing this.
To build and occupy such a facility in 2023 would cost $2.5 Billion.

I have fond memories of "mall" times. Now, they seem like ancient ruins😢
Did someone use a hammer to break the JCPenney lower level entrance? Really trashed now wow! The Cobb webs on the railings really set out the vibe lol

WHAT A SHAME THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ALLOWED THIS TO HAPPEN IF A PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS HOUSE OR PROPERTY WAS LIKE THIS WE WOULD BE IN JAIL.
After the fire from last month, the police said they weren't playing and will arrest and prosecute anyone who enters the mall. I wouldn't want to take that risk. Nice video though.
I never heard about that, glad we were able to get in and out unnoticed 😶
Just once I wish people would leave malls as they found them, Liked the vid, it's such a. Shame that vandalism is plaquing this mall
how did you even get in and is sad to see such a big mall get this bad
how much security is usually there?
Hey any chance I can use this footage for my upcoming video on this mall? I will 100% credit you with the footage
So did all that shopping just go online, or just evaporate or what. those malls had a lot of stores.

Because it's intriguing
Why did this mall close down again for why ?
So depressing 😢

as long as November 10 2015 they were there!

15 minutes of listening to this dude breathing. First 30 seconds was infuriating. Can't keep watching.
Freaking animals who trespass onto private property and vandalize. They need to do 90 days in jail.

Probably not the smartest thing to do is put a date on when you’re in there. You do know the police are watching the social media platforms.
Where is Victorias Secret?

Somehow that breathing needs to go. Hard to listen to that constantly.
