That 70 looks fabulous! Glad to see at least one train operator is sticking with yellow ends. I just think they catch the eye so much quicker than a headlight.
Love the video. I am impressed with the livery. I do hope Bachmann replicate it. I have the Bachmann Freightliner special 001 and Colas 805 in my collection.
Great video 👍 I feared the day when this would happen. Knew it was coming but couldn't imagine it in the New orange and black. My overall thoughts is that its not too bad. Doesn't look that bad in the orange and black. Like everyone has said not keen on the wide use of the yellow, definitely should of been black or a dark greey. The thing i really dont like is the black Freightliner logo on both of its sides. It justs looks odd compared to the rest if the fleet with the new logo. If it had the G&W logo would of looked much better
Another lovely video well done great camera work as usual I am really looking forward to seeing your next video I hope you get a nice video next time also when is your next video going to be on UA-cam bye for now Philip
70020's new livery isn't actually G&W, as they split with FL group. Notice how the branding doesn't mention G&W anywhere, along with their "circle" in the logo not being present either
I see a black & orange loco, & automatically think "Colas". I know it's the colour of Freightliner's parent company. But personally I'd prefer Freightliner kept the green livery!
@@andrewreynolds4949 BNSF has had several versions of its livery over time. The main difference from G&W is that there are dark bands at the top and bottom -- dark green in earlier versions; black in later versions. There are varying degrees of reflective yellow striping but it's between the orange and the black/green, and no yellow at the ends.
@@beeble2003 Yes. There were a couple that had no yellow at all, and a few where the lettering and nose symbols were in yellow lined with black. But most of the ones I see these days have rather thin bands of yellow, and that is usually dirty enough that it blends into the black or orange a little bit. What mostly stands out is along the walkways, where they have the reflective safety yellow. A little more yellow has started to creep back in with the newest ones, but it's not quite as bright as found on many other railroads that I've seen. This contrasts strongly with rival Union Pacific, known for their bright, almost entirely yellow liveries.
They should have kept the Powerhaul, the gold livery doesn't suit the 70's. For me, the 66's look best in orange, 70's Powerhaul and 90's Powerhaul and Dark Green
Looks like 70012 will be the only green FL locomotive as the rest of the PH37ACmis get repainted into G&W's orange & black, just like all the rest of the shortlines they own
Well, it's on an industrial estate, I deliver pallets of parts to the place about twice a month.... Relating to getting access to get up close to the 60s and the 73 that's there, I'm afraid not as it's private property... When I deliver there, the guys who work there let me go and have a gander as they know I'm a spotter. They let me have a wander around while the trailer is getting unloaded.
There’s a couple of places to see them from a distance - The neighbouring field down the side of the industrial estate is probably the best spot. Take wellies though as it’s boggy under foot. 👍
@@trainsplanes I would of suggested the field, adjacent to the 60s round the back but the weather we've been having recently, the poor guy is likely to sink up to his ankles bud.... Better off taking waders and a canoe 🛶.
I wonder why it went to Loughborough for paint instead of Wolverton .. and why its taken so long just to paint one .. when loads of 90s have been painted and a few 66s as well
Difficult to turn a pigs ear into a silk purse with a fresh paint job! Hit heavily with the ugly stick from birth. In my humble opinion. Good footage though!
@@trainsplanes SO? Why do they force their VERY UGLY livery onto the Europeans? We have class. American railways, "roads?" don't. Everything is UGLY, no class, and no consideration of the society they dominate with their dangerous work practises.
I'm confused. How can you know that it's the colours of an American company without knowing that that American company bought Freightliner several years ago.
@@beeble2003 Because I am European and not British, although I do have a Freightliner loco on my British outline, I don't care much, focussing on French and Dutch railways. I wouldn't have thought my question would have confused you so badly. I hope you won't be confused on November the 5th, and you vote for the sane candidate, and not the one with syphilis.
For me it looks like something you would find in a Lego box 😂
Thats exactly what I thought, I'm glad someone else thinks the same as me🤣
Freightliner green suited it so much better
Looks smart and numbers are clearer to read.
Looks like a gigantic corporation bin lorry!
Excellent catch that, I think that livery looks well smart on 70020, much better than the drab looking green on the 66...😀
I don't know if I should be thrilled or be sick
Hahaha
Wow :) Really good Frightliner
Excellent job, looks really good and suits the 70
Looks really good in the Orange, Great Paint Job by the guys in Wabtec.
Like these videos from this location 👍
Class 70 Certainly different in orange !!
Well worth a visit mate 👍
Super vid, I understand that 70020 is the ONLY one being done in orange
What colour's the next one going to be - pink?
Looks great
I generally prefer the green and yellow, but for the class 70 this is growing on me
I'm sure a weathered model in N or 00 gauge would look great !!!!. Of all the Freightliner liveries, " Powerhaul " is probably my fav !!!
That 70 looks fabulous! Glad to see at least one train operator is sticking with yellow ends. I just think they catch the eye so much quicker than a headlight.
Beatiuful video ,greetings 📽️🎥👍👍👍👍🚂
It got tango'd lol.

so bright you will need sunglasses at night!

Thanks for sharing hopefully Bachmann do 00 scale model😊
Silly livery but it is growing on me. Funny tone battle between the lorry and the train lol
Just being there would be great for me
Great video, love this tango livery 🍊🍊

I see stevie wonder got a job doing paint schemes for locomotives.
😂😂😂😂
Bound to happen at some point getting painted into the American owners colours .
Only Lamborghini’s can (just) about get away with such livery! 😂😂😂
If i remember rightly I saw locomotives in Ireland when on holiday there in the 70s painted in a similar livery. Only without the yellow.
Irish Railways paints its diesel locomotives in an orange and black scheme. It's not particularly similar, tbh.
I think it would look 1000× better if the line of yellow at the bottom was black
I was very confused thinking I'd seen 70s in this scheme for ages. Nope I was thinking of the Colas 70s.

Oh yes.

The mock radiator grilles on the class 70 look ridiculous!

Yeah
You certainly wouldn't miss 70020 in a car park would you, seeing a orange 70 certainly is different 🤔
Suits the class 70 really well, reminds me of America's BNSF livery and considering it's an American built loco too
It should, in fact, remind you of America's Genesee and Wyoming livery -- since it _is_ America's Genesee and Wyoming livery!
BNSF has more black I think, and very little yellow

Sheds (59+66) look best in Orange
70s in Powerhaul
90s in Orange
08s in Orange
Can you do another flyovers of brush

Hmmm, you can't turn an ugly ducking into a Swan in this case but better than the Freightliner Green.
It’s good and mid at the same time lol
That's a lot of yellow - maybe look better with a black solebar rather than a yellow one?
Totally agree! How some people say this looks good is beyond me.
And/or less wrap-around on the yellow ends.
Any news on the 60s and 92s
Was the 66 just a taxi for the driver ?
I’d say so.. 👍
Wow, kinda looks like the BNSF liverey from america, which makes sense when they came from America.....
No, it looks exactly like Genesee and Wyoming's livery from America, which makes sense, since they're owned by Genesee and Wyoming.
When I saw the thumbnail I briefly thought it was a G&W GP40
Still like to know how you managed to get onto this road
It’s a public road - Just walk along it like any other 🤷♂️

It’s an industrial estate - Not sure who owns which bits however I just stay in the public areas 👍

Diesel locos were built in Loughborough once upon a time.
Including the class 60s in the car park, which I assume are spares donors rather than future runners?
Too much yellow. Does not suit the loco at all.
Blimey. Any driver approaching that will end up with a migraine!! 🤣
the class 70 looks different better than the green the green was old looking
Colas is orange/yellow/ FLHH/FLIM should stay green.
Black lines look to chunky
I'm a bit 50/50 about that 1.

Far too much yellow, needs toning down a little.

Looks like some leftover paint was used on the Fiat 500? The 70 looks a bit like a triang model to me?
Is Freightliner having a laugh with that disgusting livery???
Sorry but that looks awful
Why send a 66 to collect the 70 when the 70 was driven away towing the 66?
Also too much yellow, sole bar needs to be black.
The 66 led out of Loughborough to Earles - The 70 only led from UKRL/Brush to the station 👍
@@trainsplanes Right but if the 70 is capable of moving itself, why is the 66 needed at all?
Most locomotives look great in G&W orange. That class 70 just looks hideous.
