Glad YT recommended this channel. Great video for those looking for advanced techniques! Just gave me something to start practicing at local pond. Subbed.
Yes this is great. I live in western Washington. I need all the help I can get. I love this info. Robert is so knowledgeable. I've watched livestream vods but this on- stream instruction is visually educational. I need to make it to one of these clinics
Investing an hour to watch this will do more for your Fixed-line fishing techniques than buying a more expensive rod, different brand of level line, or tying the perfect fly/kebari. Many thanks for posting.
This, by far, is the best hour you can possibly spend on UA-cam if you want to improve your tenkara fishing. Watch it, practice it, watch it, practice it. This is golden!
Thanks Chris! Rob is a great angler and teacher of fixed line methods. We were thrilled that he allowed us to record this mini-clinic for the community.
Always enjoy listening to Rob talking tenkara techniques. Being able to see the on stream demonstration is an added bonus. I really like the chest pack Rob has. Anyone know what kind it is?
Rob is a great resource for the community. The way he approaches things from a scientific, but relatable standpoint is refreshing. Rob is wearing a Hill People Gear SAR kit bag hillpeoplegear.com/Products/CategoryID/1/ProductID/189 Matt Sment also wears one of these packs when he fishes.
Thank you for making information like this, as well as all the other ways you bring tenkara and tenkara related material to the masses. Love the work you do! Please keep it up! Thank you for the info on the chest pack as well

If I'm not mistaken, I believe it is the Oni Itoshiro model. Rob's version has a smooth wooden handle (I don't recall which wood - maple, cherry, hickory?) instead of the bamboo grip currently offered in the Oni Shop: oni-ten.onlinestores.jp/category/select/cid/325/pid/8942
Very informative, but I take exception to the comment concerning a helicopter hovering being in total chaos; when hovering a helicopter a pilot and the machine is in total balance with the environment, there is nothing chaotic in hovering.
Thanks for making this available!
Thanks for watching!
This is some nerd level stuff and im SO here for it! So rad
Nerding out is the best!

If you have the time and means, the Oni School in Utah is probabaly the most immersive clinic one can participate in in the US.
@Tenkara Angler I couldn't swing it this year but I'm planning on getting there next year!

Definitely a good investment of time.
I,m just a beginner in Tenkara. I don't know if you do a lot of these videos but they are very educational. Thank you for taking the time for this.
Thanks for the comment David, we'll try to bring more in the future!

Do stealhead lie sideways also?
What book on hydrology do you read?
Loved every moment except for the hill billy finishing Rob's sentences for him!
You know!

You know. You know! You know?
I couldn't listen to this guy because of all the you knows.
Great info!…..smart guy, but honestly all the “you knows “ we’re hard to listen to.
Too many guides. Too many anglers. Too much fishing pressure on finite resources...
So are you going to quit?
