Great video. You covered a lot and didn't rush. I've used Plantronics for many years. I've probably had eight of them. My last one was staring to act up so I started looking at the newest version and decided to look at others as well this time. I settled on the Sennheiser Presence. One feature that Plantronics has that has become a negative to me is where it "Only works when on your ear". Now that I find myself wearing glasses more often, sometimes when I put glasses on it will make the Bluetooth go on and off because the arm of the glasses goes between my head and the Bluetooth. Also when the unit is in your pocket and up against your leg...I find it turning off and on as well. So getting RID of that feature has been a HUGE improvement. Couple that with the ease of connectivity and turning the unit on and off with the slide mechanism, so far this has been a no brainer to me. Top it off with a longer battery and I don't know why anyone would buy Plantronics. In your video the Sennheiser was clearly louder and totally cut out the background noise compared to the Plantronics. Thanks for all the info!
The voice got lower when he switched over to the Voyager 5200 the Sennheiser sound better it blocked the dog barking background noise better also. I like the Sennheiser much better due to long battery life as advertised and superior voice quality plus better noise canceling. Once I got comfortable on how to wear the Sennheiser it is very comfortable for me using the ear hook all day with no problem even when sweating. Expensive for a Bluetooth but you can tell a clear difference and also very durable.
Nice work guys. But may I suggest that when you run ambient noise tests, run them on full-range stereo speakers? Just running them on an iPhone speaker, with its tiny frequency range and mono output, does NOT reflect reality!
This is a great video. I used to have Plantronics Voyager Legend UC. Now I have Plantronics Voyager 5200 UC and I was looking for some comparison with other devices. 5200 definitely has better design and user experience. My device arrived with fully exhausted battery and no matter I did it never recover to the fully 7 hours capacity time. Currently the maximum is 5 hours. 5200 has better mics, but Presence has unique noise cancellation. Anyway I would go with 5200 due to the user experience, still good noise cancellation and self-charging case (really a brilliant).
As we can clearly hear, the SW of Sennheiser clearly differentiates between your own voice and all the rest: If your voice stops, it gets a complete Mute. Once you start talking, the SW cancels the mute and delivers sound. Therefore, there is a small Analysis lagg for millisecond. But that's enough to 'clean up the environment. The Blue Parrot seems to do it the same way as Sennheiser. Plantronics still delivers background artefacts. But on the other hand, the voice volume of the Blue Parrot is a hearable weaker than Plantronics. On Sennheise there isn't such a volume difference. Good test btw.
Yes, I too noticed that! So now I'm wondering if anybody complains about it dropping the beginning of an utterance. I really like muting itself when I'm not talking. I can't stand all those little "???" in Dragon's results history, plus any misrecognitions (especially commands). Mistaking ambient noises for commands is lots of fun, even for someone who has decades of experience.

Sennheiser Presence wins because it is better in sound and noise isolation, as well as its battery, and most importantly, it is easy to carry in the pocket , I was hesitant between them and after watching the video I will go to buy Sennheiser Presence, Thank you from your friend from Saudi Arabia

god do both sound ever so awful... even much worse than the webcam mic 🙈
How do I set the microphone gains on the plantronic?
Hi Delfino, if connecting to your computer, you'd want to go to your computer sound settings to adjust the mic. If connecting to your mobile phone, there's no additional way to adjust the mic gain we're aware of.
