      Not really if you can't create predictable environments. If you put all your drive into being a basketball player but only play full games for your entire training process you won't likely succeed because a basketball game depends on many variables, like team motivation, crowd support, coach tactics, the other player's individual level of skill etc... But if you do basketball drills AND play lots of games it's gonna reap you a better result. Same thing transfer for most things like learning languages etc.

    • @rhyscollins9212
      @rhyscollins9212 Рік тому +2

      I think the seven number refers to working memory in psychology. Masters of chess are able to use long term recall that has been encoded and gets retrieved through these special retrieval cues they use when looking at the board, for example a certain opening or a certain response that only this said person would do in this said position and therefore they can figure out who played it. Or in the case of just long term memory, they're able to retrieve the information about a game 20 years ago because they recognize the way it's played out, there are a bunch of ways that we retrieve our long term memories. It's pretty miraculous to think about the fact that people can remember verbatum a conversation they've had 10 years ago with a good friend of theirs, or other examples like that. Long term recall and having fast or very well developed retrieval processes and cues is different from working memory, which is the amount of items/chunks you can have in your mind at any given time for immediate recall (and usually for working memory you have to rehearse it, meaning find a way to keep it within your working memory through uses of pneumonic devices or repeating, etc.) I'm pretty sure that's how it goes but I could be wrong

    • @ki7roy
      @ki7roy Рік тому

      @der Albtraum this is because, like talked abt in the video, your brain chunks that information, for example chunking a phone number into 3 groups of numbers, or chunking your credit card # into 4 groups of 4 digits, effectively allowing you more memory while still staying under the 7-8 cap that human memory has.

    If anyone takes anything from this video it is that, as XQC says at 10:45 ish, stocks are gamba. The stock market is just a big casino, yes you can make big wins if you see a flaw in the system and exploit it (Michael Burry is a good example of this) but in the end, if you are betting against the market, the market always wins.

    • @LoLeanderx
      @LoLeanderx Рік тому +8

      League as game can give you contradicting feedback. You can win games where you played poorly and lose games where you perform well. In the micro you can be rewarded for bad plays and punished by your team for doing good plays. This is why a coach can be valuable, cause through this complexity they can spot your mistakes, regardless whether it ended up rewarding or punishing you.

      @@hector9586 In the context of a single game it can feel like a coin flip. But across hundreds of games, you are the common denominator. You get the rank that you deserve. This is why good players can consistently hit high ranks. If it was a coinflip, anyone could hit challenger.

    • @K_Shawn_Webb
      @K_Shawn_Webb Рік тому +1

      @@hector9586 I kinda get what ur both saying. There are some things where there is a barrier to entry pretty much. That barrier is essentially "talent" in some form (physical/mental), but after a certain point u need the hardwork to become a true expert.

    • @sw-gz9ps
      @sw-gz9ps Рік тому

      @@hector9586 kids are not faster at learning, that is a common misconception. they simply have more free time on their hands. kids that excel at something like chess would have great interest or time spent upon it. when youre a kid you spend most of the day doing the thing you like, this is why there are so many 12 year old's that are better than most adults at video games. any genetic differences amongst individuals is usually minute and if there is someone that wins the genetic lottery and can learn faster than average, then he would still have to learn and process the same info, thus making him 'talented' at learning not 'talented' at chess.

    • @hector9586

      @@sw-gz9ps Again, not true, it's the harsh reality I can devote my whole life to Chess and a 12 year old would still beat me because they learn faster, specially talented kids they are just faster learners with the right mindset, an adult will make the same mistakes over and over until it gets it right, because adult brains are already developed, I already accepted the reality. "Temporarily embarrassed millionaires" will tell you otherwise and act like they know shit but as someone who was interested in it for a while, it's just gambling. Everyone who thinks they can "game the system" is coping hard. The way you game the system is by having enough money in the first place.
