I just love your little miss lilly, she will have such great memories of milking with you, cooking with and you telling her she looks pretty in her dresses and she also looks adorably cute❤
Lily is turning into quite the little helper too. Her brothers get a lot of the notice, but I'm seeing an invaluable little helper there Papa and Mama. You guys must be so pleased with her. Just tell her I noticed. :) and keep up the good work!
This is my dream. I want to become self-suficient sustainable farmer. I started with zero waste life style, that was pretty easy to understand and now i want to start with permaculture, that will be a big challenge because i am from city.
Foxes here in Scotland are almost impossible to keep out due to thier agilty. If there's even a slight chance of food they will take it and find a way.
Happy independence day Rhodes family! 👍👍 such a good idea! We buried wire under our fence to keep the neighborhoods dogs from digging into our yard/kids playground.
Gideon disappearing with the snips reminded me of my childhood days of lending help to my grandpa and running away with his tools and never to recollect where I placed them. lol
Great vlog (as usual). Did you hear that the Hollars were in a wreck and totaled their truck?? Everyone (including the baby) is fine, so that's really what matters. Thought you'd be interested.
Happy 4th of July. That's one hefty Chicken Run. They shouldn't be able to get out except for there at the gate but you've got this all worked out. You have a Beautiful Farm and a Wonderful Family. God Bless and Peace Be With You All ☮️
Just a thought, you could pour a concrete saddle at the chicken gates that goes about 6 inches deep. Trucks could roll right over it and solves the tunneling issue. You would still need to do something about the gap at the bottom of the gates though.
. Happy Fourth of July .I'm glad everything's back to normal with the videos I'm sure you were much more organized without not erasing everything I was joking. Not too many helpers today you got such a sweet girl she's a such a nice helper in the kitchen and milking the cow. You said the one nice thing we're going to have a lot of milk but you have to ended it . Because we have a lot of green. . Pigs definitely done a good job and of course you guys to to plant in in that green is there. I hope you guys have a beautiful blessed weekend .
I pray you have a very very fun time for your 4t July with your family that I enjoy watching so much I thank you for your content for your happy smiles you're positive thinking and outlook and I know it's from the books that you read. I just thank you so much that your God giving fearing family. Have a happy 4th of July
The chicken run gate...I would half bury a pressure treated piece of wood (2x4?) between the gate posts on the outside of the gate. Then on the inside lower bar of the gate, staple a long strip of heavy rubber (like the cover of the pig mineral bucket) so that it just brushes against the ground when opening and closing the gate. When closed, it should bump up against the wood half buried in the ground to create a solid barrier.
hey Justin i have been watching you for a while now and want to let you know you have inspired me to get some chickens to go with my garden. i have a question for you. i have a silkie chick about 4 weeks old, and all of the sudden it seems to have a problem walking and is unstable. other then that it seems fine. it still moves, somewhat and is eating. have you had this problem before should i separate it from the other chicks?
There is a UA-cam channel I found called Homestead Heart in which the lady shows how to can her own butter that last for five years and I’m wondering if y’all ever can yours?
Justin digout to bury that fencing even along the gate. The boards that are removable attach the fencing to those boards and then screw that board to bottom of gate. Then when you need to open gate remove the few screws and set the board with the fencing attached to the bottom off to the side and you might have to digout a little along the gate to rebury the fencing along the gate. I will now watch the remaining video and see if we came to the same conclusion.
Please please get more cover for your feathered friends, they really will be suffering in that heat n those iron coops will just be ovcens. Naturally they will scratch about n open but more time n cool shady dark dusty. Maybe build a forest corner under a shade cloth, so they cant fly out but can get lotsa cool shade. Love yous!
fields look pretty good, just replant trees - add some chestnuts - research best blight resistant, take out some more trees on edges of fields to get more sun and you need the wood - just basic woodlot management do like 10 cords - take out all the small trees #darwin
Dig down and poor little concrete footer under the gate that the gate will just clear Over top And you can taper it off on both sides so trucks can still drive over it
Hahaha the chicks are always the most pain man. I have a chicken who had chicks all chicks were everywhere and I tried gathering them up but they kept running until I got frustrated and I said that's it I'm locking them up in the dog house and they kept trying to get out but I didn't let them out until next day. Lol chicks are the worst but when they grow up they began to just calm down and take a walk then lay down and not get out anywhere else.
That fence is a huge waste of money and wood. Just stretch a 300' roll of field wire and DO NOT put a top rail on the fence. Without a rail to jump onto, chickens will not breach the fence.
I watched your video of you introducing chicks to the flock at night. I have 4 pullets and the 1st chick went well. The 2nd chick was like a horror movie. The big chicks woke up, jumped off the roost, had a meeting and things went nuts. Wish I had recorded
Lily's a great helper her work ethic is better than alot of adults
Your children are such amazing youngsters. Parenting is so important when they are at that age. You two should teach a course on it!
Lilly is always one step ahead, love her
I just love your little miss lilly, she will have such great memories of milking with you, cooking with and you telling her she looks pretty in her dresses and she also looks adorably cute❤
Use some of that rubber you use to cover your cow's mineral shaw to block the gap on the bottom of your garden chicken gate.
Lily is turning into quite the little helper too. Her brothers get a lot of the notice, but I'm seeing an invaluable little helper there Papa and Mama. You guys must be so pleased with her. Just tell her I noticed. :) and keep up the good work!
Lily is an awesome help like the boys are!! She is going to be an awesome cook!!
That Lili is such a good helper
This is my dream. I want to become self-suficient sustainable farmer. I started with zero waste life style, that was pretty easy to understand and now i want to start with permaculture, that will be a big challenge because i am from city.
How Is grandma ? Good job Lily, you are so helpful.
She's good. Just out of town for a few weeks.
I admire the work ethic of your kids. For the most part it seems they enjoy the chores as part of their daily lifestyle .
Creating a future of independence for your children and their children! Happy Independence Day to the Rhodes family! 🇺🇸
🐄🐓🐂🐖❤
Your video editing is getting better. The switch up from the same routine made it more complex. Keep up the good work
Foxes here in Scotland are almost impossible to keep out due to thier agilty. If there's even a slight chance of food they will take it and find a way.
You should put hinges and a board then when you’re bringing mulch in you can just pick it up
nice to see all your family working with you, such a bless.
You are hard working man i love the way you respect your kids
Thank you so much
Thanks for sharing your chicken journeys with us! I'm a beginner and I appreciate every piece of advice!
Happy independence day Rhodes family! 👍👍 such a good idea! We buried wire under our fence to keep the neighborhoods dogs from digging into our yard/kids playground.
use the same rubber that you use to cover the minerals as a gate sweep on the bottom.
Gideon disappearing with the snips reminded me of my childhood days of lending help to my grandpa and running away with his tools and never to recollect where I placed them. lol
Consinder a wooden threshold close to ground level for the gate to close against, then bury wire mesh below it?

Some young man is going to be blessed if he can land a beautiful young lady named Lily!
💞Happy 4th Of July!!! Let Freedom Ring and cows gorge on lush pasture! 💞
A blessing to see your sweet family, happy Independence Day, glad to see ice cream treats for the evening!
Happy 244th birthday of freedom may it stay that way God bless you all

Keep making ideas work Justin and family, great video! 👍👍👍💯💯💯

Lily always seems to do a great job in the kitchen with assisting & cooking ✊🏾 Do the boys assist or cook as well?
No not really. They aren't interested.
Best notification of the day!!! Happy Fourth, Rhodes Family!
Glad you are doing good Justin.
Happy Independence Day to y’all. Hope you had a great day.

Justin "I'm on it bro" Rhodes
The fence height needs to be higher. Chickens will fly up to 6-7 feet when determined to get out. You’d also need hawk proof netting.

Happy 4th of July and God bless America and your family.
U should wash the route ball before you plant so they can take better
Can you pour a cement curb under that gate?
Lovely vlog as always, I was thinking the tan cow looked rather big ...is she carrying a calf?
Yes. Due in August.
Happy 4th July Rhodes family ❤️

Put a couple of flagstones under the gate. My dogs used to dig under gate and that fixed it.

How about a couple of bags of large pea gravel where the gates are?
Thank you for sharing, Dios bendigan, I always look forward to your videos! Juanita
I was just thinking about asking about your orchard :^) Thanks and Happy Independence Day.
You should get a gamecock they are good flock protectors if raised properly
Please please get more cover for your feathered friends, they really will be suffering in that heat n those iron coops will just be ovcens. I thought you been did chicken wire like that. Great job.
Why not add some hinges to the boards below the gate so they can fold up when you need to open the gates?
what if you put the bottom boad and mesh on a hinge to the gate you can drop the board flat and then open the gate so you can get mulch
Love you guys!! Good idea!
Love your vids man I know you said you live in NC I live in a small town in NC called Otto
Hey Justin love your videos I just got chickens a month ago and 13 chicks do you have any tips?
Watching from Philippines 🇵🇭
How about using cinder blocks for the chicken coop
Wild grapes I've never seen wild grapes that big they only get to be about the size of peas around here
What brand and model is your dehydrator?
fields look pretty good, just replant trees - add some chestnuts - research best blight resistant, take out some more trees on edges of fields to get more sun and you need the wood - just basic woodlot management do like 10 cords - take out all the small trees #darwin
What breed is your bull?
Great videos. God bless.
I should mention I haven't finished watching the video yet so I don't know what you've done to fix the gate yet just a suggestion
What is the brand name of the portable eletric fence yall have. And does it work well
Premiere 1 Supplies
Put a rubber flap for the bottom of the gate!
Dig down and poor little concrete footer under the gate that the gate will just clear Over top And you can taper it off on both sides so trucks can still drive over it
Please let me know what kind of charger you would use on 164ft. Of premiere poultry fence, thanks! Happy 4th of July!
Intellishock 60 or 120 depending on what you can afford. From Premiere 1.
What brand/model is your ice cream maker please? 🙂
What brand cream separator is that?
when the same chicken keeps on getting out. clip wings and still does it. carry a can of paint and mark the bad chicken for supper.
Happy independence day!
Same to you
When I try to stream your vlogs to my tv from my phone. Same with all my tubers it freezes and won't play.
Yesssss
Way too many chickens in that pasture tractor. They have no where to perch away from others for the night
You could use walkies!
Don't ever bet that NO ONE can escape!!!!!

Why don’t you guys dig a 3 inch deep space and put bricks in along the gate bottom so nothing can dig in or out and the gate can slide over them?
Hola linda familia
first! thanks for all the great videos guys!

TOO INDULGENT WITH THR LITTLE ONE
Hi
That’s impossible
If it's hot,why are you wearing a dark long sleeve shirt and a jacket in the morning. That makes very little sense to me.
Because it protects me from the sun. I'm practically clear.
Flatearth British
☺️👍👍👍👌♥️
I'm the first today..😁😁
First 😊
