In that specific case the easiest workaround would be to double patch your vocals, one with tuning, one without. Then your monitor engineer can route the tuned/un-tuned vocal to whatever Aux for IEMs the performer would like.
Hi! Thanks for your question. Latency will not be noticeable when using the RUFX Tune vocals and no other outboard gear, digital or analog is being used in the signal path. If you have additional questions, please give us a call at 800.203.5611 and we'll be happy to help! We are open Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm CST. Have a great weekend!
Nice mix, I run my studio so that I have DAW feeding SQ/Avantis which is then chained/inserted to an analogue desk (a 1972 A&H MOD3) being returned through digital desk back into the DAW, all audio options available all the time, just wish A&H would do some more work to use digital desks more fully integrated into DAW control, is it so hard to get a digital desk to control DAW engine compared to the internal engine…
You were talking about switching from the Dante to the Analog input on wireless. Is there enough sonic advantage to go with the Dante input if it's prone to possible failure? I have always plugged in via analog since I don't own any units that have Dante outputs.
I'd say any workflow that exists in the "real world" is prone to possible failure - it just depends on what variables in the possible signal chains you trust most and what is most critical to the show. The "safest" (least variables) would be going analog out of the wireless unit directly into the console IO, then the console IO feeding speakers. That would bypass a stagebox or any network audio transport protocol altogether. But since wireless units often live near the stage, we're almost always using a stagebox of some kind. And now more and more shows have a built in network structure and needing sources to feed multiple destinations, audio over IP isn't going away anytime soon. By going Dante you are more easily able to pick off those Dante outs from the wireless and send them other places - a monitor console, a comm unit for IFB feeds, broadcast desks, etc. You could go analog first, but then would use tie lines to other destinations to make that happen. Bottom line, we can't zero out risk, but we can help mitigate it by having a backup.
Thanks for your question! There’s no way to have a redundant mixrack since it is the mixer. There is redundancy built in to power supplies and surface connections to the mixrack on the S Class systems, and any I/O boxes connected to them, but if you had a mixrack go down there would be no mixer. Everything would just stop, the same with any other console. If you have additional questions, please call us at 800.203.5611 and we will be happy to help! We are open Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm.
Hi man. The effects busses are added with the card upgrade. The firmware update will include the workflow improvements. The hardware upgrade will include the effects busses that host the new effects. Hope this helps
@@eflizotte With the RUFX card the dLive has 64 variable busses (which can be assigned to a main bus, PFL, auxes, groups, matrices, and "normal" fx buses) PLUS eight additional stereo RUFX buses that are dedicated to the eight RUFX slots. You cannot reallocate those to serve as an aux, for example. However, you can change the new RUFX slots to be an insert vs a send/return.
frankly I'm offended. +8x effect slots with stuff Waves Soundgrid has been doing for years and years. this is an example of A&H dragging their feet and holding us back. Just to clarify, if I have 8x singers that all need auto-tune (they do), I have NO fx-racks free for the other stuff like harmonizer. This is just dumb. Excellent demo music tho
Congrats on the first decent demo of this update of hardware\software. And with those audio examples youre a winner for sure! Great work!
I had a blast putting together and appreciate the support I had from both the SoundPro and A&H teams.
Love that snare sound!!!
Hard to go wrong with MixWave Aaron Gillespie : )
Great demo. Thanks Sound Pro.
Definitely the plate verb. Love the simple interface
Will the Vocal tuning be good for In-Ears? For instance if I’m singing and I want to hear my bandmates tuned but hear myself not tuned and vise versa

@ yeah my question is the latency if it’s noticeable

Some great additions that’s for sure

GREAT VIDEO, CAN WE HAVE A REDUNDANT MIX RACK LIKE 2 DM 64 FOR FAILOVER SAFE
THANKS

So you can actually save In Ear mixes in the library?
You're exactly right, very similar to how it might work on a ME1/Aviom system, but from the FOH desk.
To be clear, eight new effects in the update or eight slots to host effects?

@@TrainingJarl2 thanks for the response. How many total busses are added in with the upgrade?

nobody's stopping you from using waves with your dLive too 🤷🏽♀
