    ABOUT THE CHANNEL:
Hi! My name is Mateo, I'm a professional musical theatre composer, splitting my time between Toronto & NYC right now.
Every Wednesday on this channel, I post a video analyzing the music theory behind some of the great Broadway musicals of all time! In the past, I've analyzed works by Sondheim, Jason Robert Brown, Pasek & Paul, Jeanine Tesori, and Stephen Schwartz, just to name a few.
And every Sunday on this channel, I post a video update of the progress I'm making on my writing projects, so you can follow along with the process as I create new musicals from scratch.

Somethin' Ain't Right is truly a banger, and you also have such a great voice!

I really like "Something Ain't Right," but wonder what it would sound like without the guitar part. I think the syncopated bass line gives the song the "off-ness" you're looking for.

more tommy rhodes !!! i love the metaphors in skeleton a lot it sounded like you had fun making them while listening to it :D somethin ain’t right is also really good i love the tango-esc music of it and the world building in it is great!! i love all the characters in tommy rhodes because they all feel “real” if that makes sense like they are all a little bit flawed which adds to investing you into the story and it’s characters really well

i always love listening to you talk about music because i learn so much like the way you translated the idea of a spooky song” sung by a strict character is so smart and it translated so well like even if you don’t exactly know the feeling gets translated well

i like "something ain't right" a lot, but i would say it sounds more like a tango than folk music. i was half expecting a big "cha-cha-cha!" at the end, LOL. i like the song a lot though, the ending where he's singing the 2nd over the chord is so brilliant because he never resolves down to the root because _something ain't right_

also, i love the baritone/bass rep in your shows, especially when contemporary mt seems like high, higher, and highest
