so this song was played at my brothers funeral. Both my brother and I had are battles with drugs and alcohol he died cause of this horrible disease. It brought me to me knees when my pastor and I shared the good news of the gospel with and he shed a tear. My brother was clinically brain dead and had no movement or reaction until that moment. It was such a power of Christ at that moment. RIP Glenn love you always till we meet again

Wake up baby "Christians" I'm a believer and this is a load of nonsense trying to appeal to your emotions! An artist makes beautiful things, an architect makes beautiful things, scientists makes beautiful things! Jesus gives new life eternal life!
This song is as empty as the individuals in this hipster rock band, where is JESUS even mentioned where is the Gospel presented that affirms ones Faith and Eternal destiny in heaven?
My friend look at the lyrics to "when we all get to heaven" or "sweet by & by" or "I'm bound for that city", if it does not bring comfort of being reunited with our believing loved ones.

I'm not a christian and I resonate deeply with this beautiful song. They don't have to be christians to make deeply moving music that inspires and reaches deep within. To all the contemporary christian haters in this chat.. c'mon guys, embrace the fact that you don't really know what happens when you die, and be okay with it. Recognize beauty, recognize real people, and find the good things to say, not the bad.

Without Jesus there is no hope.

@@tedalen529 no actually Christians don't know...that's a delusion of a materialistic ideology, the Bible gives a materialistic description which is absolutely incorrect and is just a worldly ideology that was created by cult leaders to convince the poor a few thousand years ago.
(mansions, gates (what's H is the porpoise of gates if you're with god and everything is so glorious???? mmmm that's interesting) golden sidewalks, pearly gates, walls made of jasper, it also talks about other precious stone ect.
So out of all eternity that we can see from here when we look UP into the great expansion...
Your heaven is limited to a a tiny human Measurement
The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city, its gates and its walls. 16 The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia in length, and as wide and high as it is long. 17 The angel measured the wall using human measurement, and it was 144 cubits thick. 18 The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. 19 The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, 20 the fifth onyx, the sixth ruby, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth turquoise, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. 21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass.
Not real...Christianity and the other 2 Abrahamic religions that was created by Abaddon to blind humanity and enslave them with a false ideology of superiority and domination.
Your religion says god loves everyone and yet the first genocide was recorded in your book because your god said it was good (WTF) then your religion enslave and killed millions throughout Europe, Africa and into North and South America...today your religion is still supporting genocide and illegal occupation of lands just because people will not bow....
I was raised in the church and taught in the church until my eyes were truly opened to the lie called Christianity, Judaism, Islam... all of which came from Egypt when Amenhotep the 4th was banished....he was the first one to convince his people he was the bride between them and ra their name for god...all the symbols that have been passed down came from his religion including most of the terminology like resurrection...Osiris was resurrected long before Jesus, Isis = mother Mary, Horus The son god... who's birthday is also celebrated and believed to be OMG Dec 25...your religion celebrates the birth of an Egyptian god.
      Knowledge is enlightenment....ᎢᏗᏍᏆᏓ ✌️.

RELEVANT even published an article this past month promoting Gungor's denial of Jesus. Phony Christians are being exposed for what they truly are. Atheistic egoists.

In listening to - and reading - the lyrics, I've wondered about that as well. He thanks God for the beautiful girl with whom the Lord has blessed him, and even makes a [somewhat vague] reference to the Book of Job, and the famous "... the Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away..." (yeah, I know - old King James version!) All that aside, this is an amazing and heart-wrenching song. Whatever the writer/performer's personal beliefs (I myself am a Christian) I like to think it was intended to be both: a prayer to God AND a plea to his girl to never leave him. Just my take...

So many say things about those who fall away, and frankly I used to too. But I've found as my faith matures, I have more questions for God than can be answered. While I still hold on my grip gets weak but I know he is holding me up. I will not talk bad about these two, instead I will pray that they come running back to the Father. Once we are in Him it is harder to be in the world, for its because we have tasted and seen of his goodness. Please know I am praying for you dear brother and sister. As well as a few others who have publicly fallen away or professed to no longer believing. I challenge our other brothers and sisters in Christ to do the same. For we all are but a vapor and none of us know our own wickedness or fragile hearts. It's best we never act as though "it won't be me"

All I can affirm is that before I had faith in Jesus Christ my life was in shambles. 3 years after I asked Christ into my life I am a completely new man with a life I could never have made on my own. I have much compassion for people like I was, who are lost, those who believe they know all the answers, but really know nothing at all. There is only one answer and usually its something right in front of you ;) I hope all have a happy 2013. Oh and this song is awesome!

So they will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified. 4They will rebuild the ancient ruins; they will restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations.…beautiful music so encouraged to hear something new with acoustic and strings. A lot of people critisize Gungor for believing creation through the big bang theory, and while that is controversial, we shouldn't despise them so terribly. They are talented musicians working for the Lord. We all share the same gospel. As a belief, we need to stop calling out our differences and come together based on our similarities. No one is going to hell for interpreting Genesis in a different way. As long as we all put our full faith in Jesus, I think it's safe to say that we'll be saved. The whole perception of bashing people with different beliefs is what has torn the World apart. We need to preach love over hate. Then, and only then will we get anywhere.

After hearing their reasons on why they left, we as Christians have to be rather blunt on God's Sovereignty. We always want to be super encouraging and optimistic when talking to someone that is going through a rough time. However, we kinda miss the point when we do that. I am not saying that it is bad to build your brother up when they are crashing down, but we have to be content that when our world falls apart, it brings glory to God. This is what Jesus said about Lazarus death to Martha. By no means is our downfall part of God's delight, but if we believe in all loving sovereign God, we have to place our trust and reliance on Him. Meaning, that when God lets things happen he takes the entirety of his creation into consideration. This is wisdom is best observed in the book of Job. That is why we should be slow to say things like "you are going through a hard time, it must be because you are in sin." The reason, is because we are all sinners, and my our free choices, we deserve the internal separation from God. That is why we need our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the undeserving grace we get from him. Then we start seeing that all blessing we receive is truly from the undeserving love of our God, and all the bad things that happen to us (within our walk with God) is when truly we see God turning "Beautiful things out of dust." For it is out of His work and not ours, for his will and not ours.

HewOnUA-cam in my opinion there‘s no clear line between believing and not believing. Sometimes taking a step back, looking from a distant helps to set everything in perspective. I believe there’s a good God - but I cannot prove it. But it then again nothing would make sense if He‘s just an illusion. And I don’t think he is. Faith means (for me) doubting and struggling and testing and trusting. Labels don’t matter - you don’t have to be a Christian or an Atheist. I want to be a Child on the look out for someone greater and better than the world has ever known.

I definitely get your perspective. I was raised loosely Christian as a kid but was always fascinated by God and Jesus. I got taken on this long journey of going through my Mums Catholic side and a bit of universalism to my Dads American Baptist roots (oh I’m Aussie lol btw) to floating through and having an odd sense of Christianity as a teen. I then became involved in an Anglican Church and met some kind true soles that put me on yet another track to understanding God. I fell away from the church because my introversion pushed me there and a couple of years of questioning led to a lot of late night research on all religions , spiritualities and new age thoughts. It was crazy because no matter what I read Jesus kept cropping up, wherever I looked - people discussing him as a son of God, a prophet, an enlightened one, a teacher or light worker. I opened myself to many things, but I always got a call back from God and Jesus. Then the messages started happening weekly, where God and Jesus would be sending me such direct messages I couldn’t explain Him away anymore.
The one that striked me the most was I was sitting at my kitchen table and I felt an odd feeling that I needed to stay there. I then heard a familiar yet different male voice telling me I need to stay there.. and as crazy as this sounds I was arguing with Him, I wanted to get up and go out... the voice stopped and I felt the sudden urge to turn my head left. My grandma was coming up from the garden and she took a misstep. She grabbed the handle bar but flipped around and hit the ground hard. I helped her up and called for a family member to get her to the dr. My Nanna believed in God, but never spoke to me about him much.. then she casually said to me “Oh thank God, you were there or I would’ve been lying on the cement outside on the ground all day” (it was a hot Aussie spring/summer) and that blew me away, cos I learnt that God is with everyone of His children through the good and the bad, even tho my grandma was old to me, she was a loved child to God he didn’t want to see hurt.
I thought about this again recently, and God has been sending me a lot of messages. If you pray and open yourself to see, you’ll be amazed. I always say I’m as stubborn as they come God, so you have to send me really obvious messages. In one way my life is the same, but on the other God is what keeps me up and going thru my depression. Sorry for the rant thanks for coming to my ted talk 😂😂

    • @IAmisMaster

Not too surprising with these "worship" lyrics that are focused not on God, but on how "beautiful" we humans are. Even though I like the music it always struck me as oddly self-centered and vapid. Now we know why, they were not committed to believing what God thinks if it didn't make them feel good. If God is just there to make you feel good, then you are your god, and God is your jester.

Such a beautiful song! Reminds me of how amazing God's love is and that I have something so incredible to hope in/be loved by.
And THAT is the real reason why we Christians choose to believe in Him, not because it makes sense on a piece of paper but because we taste this amazing love that touches the very core of beings, that reaches down to our bones. Sure, not everyone might agree with it/like it but at the end of the day, we have Him, and He has us, and no one can take that away.
