They really are that good! I bought an 03 Mille R on mint condition, 10 years ago for £2750. Last of the gen1 bikes with the radial brakes, 57mm tb's etc. Absolute bargain and my favourite bike I've ever owned. Other bikes come and go but the Mille has a home for life.
There's so many of these secondhand for crazy cheap money. I sold my RSV4 a few years ago and regretted it ever since but i'm definitely considering a Mille as my next purchase.
As we've got used to buying different new bikes, it sometimes feels new to ride an older bike. Also, in some ways, a lot of (not all) the changes to bikes in the last 15 years have been cosmetic or user-interface technology. Numb Knob on the tank is even worse in leathers...!
Hi Sam, great upload and a lovely bike. You gave the price away as I was typing, I was going for £3995, working on him getting a bargain from a dealer. £3k is an absolute bargain! What a lot of bike for the money!
@@SamVBikes amazing what you can get these days, an old bike that has been well looked after can be a great bargain! I went looking at Tuono's straight after! 😂
I wonder if bikes have actually gotten any faster in the last 15 or so years. The bhp figures have gone up but the amount of electronics to control the power has increased
I'd love to put a new bike and an older one around a track with a good rider to see how close they are! Use every BHP of 140bhp odd.. or struggle with electronics to put 217bhp down
I have an opportunity to buy one with 34k km on the clock, pristine condition, for €3.500...almost went blind on it, but did my research and the only thing stopping me is the stator/rectifier issue. I know there are some solutions for that but I'm just afraid that it's going to be a money pit :/ do you know what would be the normal price of ownership on a yearly basis?
Unfortunately with any bike, you can get lucky or unlucky. Dave hasn't had any issues with his for a year now. My Ducati has had both stator and reg/rec replaced with a new battery which cost around £700 so not awful. There's not a huge amount to go wrong with them so if it's got a good service history, I'd buy it. Look after it and you will be good
@@paulred158thinking the same thing. Technically only gen 1 called Mille. Gen 2 are just called R and Factory. Had a Factory back in the day and great fun.
Had my Gen 2 Factory 18 years. Had loads of bikes. But this I keep. Says it all.
It's definitely a special experience riding it! Bet you're glad you kept it especially with the prices of them slowly going back up
Mine won't with 90,000 miles on it. 😂. But it's worth more to me.
Ohh wow! Solid effort!! Haha I appreciate that! That's all that matters!

Had a gen 2 tuono for 11 years .. if you cant live with the low bars @Sam Vincent the Tuono is a great shout
Gen 1 owner (2001),bouth it in march this year.Bike is blast from the past.😎
I have a gen 1 rsv mille, standard but with the double exhaust from an SP. handling is amazing, costed me about 2800,- and that was 2 years ago.
Amazing!! You've managed to get yourself a bargain! All Classics seem to be jumping up in price!

Such an overlooked bike - becomes worth buying because one day they are going to go up!
Nice video❤ Hi from Italy

It was really refreshing riding a bike where it was so manual! Haha yeah that wasn't fun

Thanks bud! You're the closest guess yet. Absolutely incredible piece of kit for very little money! (Well.. for a bike)

😂😂 you'll see what I went looking for in a few weeks time haha
@@SamVBikes another bike purchase? If so you will be catching me up 😂
I may have got a little carried away 😂 can't take it with you!

Sold an 04 Factory for £4k back in 2009 and they never really seemed to change price much in the 15yrs since!
I'd honestly expect it to be worth double that nowadays!
I have a gen 1 tuono and its probably the most fun i have ever had
The noise of those too without all the Euro regs is sublime!
£1900, it's not a mille, 2004 on bikes are RSV1000R.
Gen2 2008 with 15k full stage 1 ..every bell and whistle...i paid 3400
almost bought a new one in 2004 great test ride but something about the dealer put me off so i ended up with another gixxer a 1000k4
Dealer networks for Aprilia are the main thing that put me off. Still not a huge amount better now!

I had a 2001, in red. Great bike.
Such a great thing
Thanks for making me regret selling my Millie last year 😂
😂😂 get on Ebay quick before many more people see this vid
but what did Dave think of the 1290?....
He spent quite a lot of time trying to convince himself he didn't need one after 😂
@@SamVBikes 🤣😂
I just got a 2007 Aprilia rsv1000r factory with 3000km. Bought it for 7.5k cad, is that allot?
No thats a great price!
Ap workshops have a really helpful aprillia Facebook page
Seem like a nice bunch too!
Its the noise
Addictive isnt it

Nice but not as nice as a superadventure ❤
Haha! Nothing beats those but they can try 😂
I git A 07 touono with factory forks wheels an rear shock.
Bi😊t of shit from alternator but befuck bike😅
8k
Completely wrong 😂
Lovely bike
Haha! That would have been my guess too
3800k
Not a bad guess!
Mr pedantic here It's not a mille he got a good deal there i paid 4.2k on my 06 tuono.
Not sure the difference. I know it's not the R model but it comes up as a RSV 1000 Mille when you put the reg in on reg checkers/insurance
@@SamVBikes the gen 2 only came in a R or factory the factory had a bit more poke and ohlins suspension 👍
