Ha ha! You have to do what I did wake up and rewind to the part I can last remember. Thanks goodness it was not at the theaters because I would have missed majority of the movie sleep in the theater reclining chairs and swear audience would have done a class action suit to get their money back. Haha! I as being black applaud when there opportunity for our kids to see themselves in roles that we only got to see whites portray growing up, but they have to be able to bring the right actors that have the acting skills, charisma and facial expression for their role. I am a big Peter Pan fan of the animated and unanimated version but this for me was horrible. Wendy come off in some of the first scenes as a liar, abuser, disrespectful to her parents and narcissist prop her ego. I watched it entirety a week ago (kept falling asleep) and will not watch it again nor would it be a movie suggestion. The only thing that I like about the movie is the back story on why there is such hatred between Hook and Peter Pan and there are racial inclusiveness (bad part is the actors that were picked). This movie tried too hard on the political correctness and girl power it just lost the whole magic behind this original time period story of Peter Pan love for Wendy (was this actress like 16? too old for role she would not be in nursery having a period in 1911) and which kept him coming back for her again and again, and her willingness to go. This film should have been Wendy's return trip to Neverland. I'm going to put the major blame on the scenery locator (island shown made me think of the series Outlander) (anyone notice that staircase Peter fell down thru was the same as in the Darlings' house), casting and script. The scenery was so drab and dark, even Tink did not glow. Tinker Bell had 2 expressions bewilderment and anger, and for a character that had a major language barrier did not use any body language (I hated her costume, heck hated them all). Tink just looked shocked when Wendy (basically a stranger) bitch slap her buddy? Somebody hits me we all better be fighting. Peter Pan might as well have a pouch of pixie dust how useless a fairy she was. She breaks out and does not fly to see about Peter and Wendy fly from the plank and does not say this is Tink power. but claim this as her own. This does not come close to the movie Hook and the 2003 non-Disney version directed by Hogan (I have watched so many times and that just in April) with Peter Pan (Jeremy Sumpter) and Wendy (Rachel Hurd-Wood), who did some sword fighting but was a child in a new world without parents and Tinker Bell (Ludivine Sagnier), use all kind of facial/body expressions and Hook/father (Jason Isaacs). This movie was soo bad I had to rewatch the original Disney cartoon and the 2003 movie to get the bad taste out of my head. I am disappointed that Disney is so much into pushing agenda and putting celebrities in the roles that not meant for them (like Tom Hank in Pinocchio). Mr. Smee was played by a really good comedian, and they did nothing with it in the script. First time viewing video on this channel, it was really entertaining. Wendy happy thought was a pull from Rose in Titanic, she don't show getting married or having kids or an actual life, how she affording those train fares and flying a plane (that not free either) and women had very few options.
