Michael Kamen is a fucking legend. Arranging MoP in a way where it goes through a noticable metamorphosis of it's complete sound quality, yet still managing to add a next level spirit to the song (notice how every fill and dynamic choice is straight on point) must have taken unimaginable amount of time. And I just can't comprehend how the band and the orchestra played it with such precession. Holy shit. Certainly the best version out there

He looked in his rear view mirror (I was sitting in the back seat) and he said he saw my eyes get so big they nearly popped out of my fucking skull. I had never heard Metallica performing with a symphony before. The hairs on my arms and neck immediately stood up on end, and I demanded to him that he start the CD over from the beginning. The rest is history.
definetly their Peak Musically . they really had nothing to prove after that . i personaly gained more respect for this band after i discovered more Technically advanced and Cool bands like Dream theater , Planet X , Steve Morse Band , Aristocrats..... still metallica is my go to music with a special love for Load ( mixed with nostalgia i think ) and this Live Concert which just takes me back to 2001 instantly . i Hope they will deliver on SM2 and i hope they bring back jason on that one as it is kind of an anniversary thing .

Since I was a kid I loved Metallica, I remember one day my dad brought me a copy of S&M even though he didn't like metal at all, that DVD became one of my most cherished memories of when I was that age. Now that my dad is gone I remember him listening to this masterpiece, tho, he didn't really knew the great treasure he gave to me just because when I was just an 11 year old kid.

Lars became sloppy after another 4/5 years. He was never great,BUT perfect for Metallica. No one in Metallica after Cliff was great individually but they were tight and fucking GREAT together...that's why they still are together. I haven't heard of any side project of any of them, except the bassist

truely epic solo section. how i loved it when i discovered it. actually loved whole s&m very much, it brought me to metalica, and I guess that opened the door for a lot of other metal stuff (or at least it was another step into that direction). Hope it also was for you, since I wouldn' want to miss all the musical ecstasis eargasm explosions which metalish music provided me over the years. (Don't get me wrong, I think that within every genre there is good stuff to find! But different kinds of music have different effects, and I find that not a lot of other stuff can grant me these total explosions :) )
