Have you heard their newest double album? They're not done yet. They went back to their roots with that one and even upped the game with their newest bass player Robert Trujillo. Death Magnetic was a reprieve in 2008, however, Hardwired... To Self Destruct from 2016 is on a total different level!

Michael Kamen is a fucking legend. Arranging MoP in a way where it goes through a noticable metamorphosis of it's complete sound quality, yet still managing to add a next level spirit to the song (notice how every fill and dynamic choice is straight on point) must have taken unimaginable amount of time.
And I just can't comprehend how the band and the orchestra played it with such precession. Holy shit.

@@jihwoanahn A story I always like to hear is from a friend of mine who got me into Metallica. One day, he started playing the S&M CD for me in his car, and it was the beginning of Master of Puppets. He looked in his rear view mirror (I was sitting in the back seat) and he said he saw my eyes get so big they nearly popped out of my fucking skull. I had never heard Metallica performing with a symphony before. The hairs on my arms and neck immediately stood up on end, and I demanded to him that he start the CD over from the beginning.

Nicely executed . the best rendition ever of the middle section harmony stuff . Newsted is the master of Metallica Bass groove and he uses the low B pretty cleverly . 2:21 reminds me why i was obsessed with lars playing when i was teenager . what a band !!

truely epic solo section. how i loved it when i discovered it. actually loved whole s&m very much, it brought me to metalica, and I guess that opened the door for a lot of other metal stuff (or at least it was another step into that direction). Hope it also was for you, since I wouldn' want to miss all the musical ecstasis eargasm explosions which metalish music provided me over the years. (Don't get me wrong, I think that within every genre there is good stuff to find! But different kinds of music have different effects, and I find that not a lot of other stuff can grant me these total explosions :) )
