The lactation consultant I interacted with while my daughter was in the NICU didn’t even realize flange sizing was a thing…I lost a lot of trust in anything she told me after that.
I’ve had several doctors surprised that I was still pumping at 14months. There’s so much mysticism about breastfeeding.

I'm both! I had low supply with my last baby, and I both don't want that to happen again, as well as just enjoying geeking out over these little machines. I got the good old Spectra S2 last time, and ordered Medela's new hands free pump this time. I'm trying soooo hard not to also order the Genie before my Medela has even arrived! I also got the Lackek soft flanges for my Spectra and realized how much those plastic flanges just do not work for me and contributed to my hatred of pumping.

This was me with low output, until I got the Pumpables genie with the liquid shields. Best $150 spent! No more formula supplement, less stress on me and more milk, win win thanks to watching your videos ❤️🙌

Wow just looked this up 😮 it’s sold out not sure if the insert will fit Motif Luna what I have and I do believe my flange is too big when I squeeze by hand more milk comes out and I’m pumping for 1 hr and only 1-2 oz but I’m like I think there is more milk 😒😒

I never felt a let down… my other breast would just start leaking. So, that was something that freaked me out because ppl would talk about how let down hurt. Meanwhile, I was totally fine.

I have 7 pumped at this point. I can’t really find the right flame size because my nipples are so elastic I’ve bought soo many different flanges that are supposed to help and I just don’t know what to do

Ok so question… I have the spectra s1, I got the legendary milk cups with 19mm inserts. I tried pumping on 3 separate occasions and I am definitely not getting the same out put I get when I use my willow go pumps. My willow go pumps also have the maymom inserts 19 mm. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I tried to adjust the cycle on my spectra and everything but it is making no difference. What would you suggest?

I have a spectra, luna, pisa, zomee, medela handPisa, & lansinoh hand and electric pump and none get the milk out. Once letdown mode is over I get nothing out. I know there's milk because I have exclusively fed my baby for 10months but I never can get the milk out. I'm starting to believe I am truly stressed out when I think about pumping because I'm always thinking of how I never get anything out and baby waking up😅

Try using a heat massager on your breasts near your nipples. Heat is so important to milk output

I’m a mama of a 1 month old, who had a late start to breast pumping. I’m currently working on getting my supply to where it should be for my LO. When I do pump I’m pumping maybe two ounces between both breasts and I know that’s not enough for him. I’m also renting a Medela symphony. Can I up my supply this far after delivery? Please help a discouraged, frustrated mama I really want to fully breast feed and not have to pump.. tia

What is a low output considered? I definitely would say I have a regular supply but my righty is a slacker to the max sometimes

Same, but opposite boob. My left usually yields 1/2-1oz while my right is an “overproducer” by comparison. Right will yeild 4-5oz per pumping session.
Together they will feed my baby but I feel like I’m dealing with underproduction and overproduction at the same time. It’s pretty frustrating.

@@letscarpethisdiem1988 4-5oz is more than enough for a full fed. My kiddo (last baby) doesn't take more than 3oz at a feed of expressed milk. Her elder sis, same thing 3-4oz max.
Slacker boob is normal. Like you 1-1.5oz on the left to 3-4oz on the right.
