proper tip: if you make room for a normal tracktor between every 5 or 6 rows, then you can use a normal sprayer for fertilizer and herbicide, and just spray "above" the plants..
u can also fit the 3m mulcher this way and one pass between rows and save a bit of time mulching dunno if a bigger cultivator saves time as the mini one is fairly fast compaired to others of the same type
As far as turning seasons planting option off... all crops still take the same amount of days to grow, when set to 1 day per month. The only difference is there's no longer a restriction to when any specific crop can be planted, and crops will grow through winter, since seasons just becomes a scenery change basically. For anyone interested, crop growth times (plant to harvest) are all as follows: 2 days - Grass 4 days - Oats, Sorghum and Olives 5 days - Potatoes, Grapes. 6 days - Barley, Corn and Soybeans. 7 days - Wheat, sunflower and sugar beats/sugar cane. 8 days - Canola and Cotton. 13 days - Poplar trees.
@@IG10705 Growth times remain the same regardless of seasons being on or off... but I was wrong about the multiple harvests by increasing the number of days in a month. So far, increasing the number of days per month beyond 1 just increase the level of boredom and insanity. Mine anyways.
@@AClRCLEOFLlGHT same here. I knocked mine down to 5 days and I'm playing with seasons on. I just want to try how that works out. If I get bored with it I'll do what I did on FS 19.
I found out yesterday, in a Reddit post I believe, that Mulchers are actually meant to go on the Front of Tractors and that AI won’t operate them when they’re on the Back of Tractors. I hadn’t tried using an AI with mine yet, but I felt like an idiot for putting it on the back.
Well if it's wrong, Giants itself is also wrong because that's _exactly_ what they show and demonstrate in the tutorial (towed mulcher). I just did a test and at writing helpers would not work with it on either front or back "worker has stopped unexpectedly - no field found." (vanilla equipment, no course play etc) I found putting it on the front quite unpleasant as it sticks out a lot and gets caught on the tree line a lot, whereas on the back it just slides along neatly almost no matter how close you pull in. Rear for me.
I've noticed that mulching and cultivating has no affect on the olive growth what so ever....they grow and u spray them twice and harvest them, and repeat. Saves a job or 2
I have the same "problem". I tried to mulch 1 month after I planted the olives and there is no texture change. There is difference between when I planted the olives, and 1 month after, I just can,t mulch and I don,t understand why. I am still playing that saved game so I will test and see what happens. If anyone has an idea as to why, please share
Do we need to plow after harvest? Because my map is showing red where my olive groves are but the help menu mentions absolutely nothing about needing to plow between rows. I know you need to mulch, cultivate and fertilise, but there isn't any info that I can find explicitly saying to plow!
Thanks for the video. Well put together. When I mulch my olives, the grass does not ever get any shorter at all nor does it show up in the legend as mulches as indicated by the baby blue looking color (on PC version when pressing escape). I have tried mulching and the disc harrow both and notta dang thing happens for me. Oh sorry, that is a slight lie. 1 row smack dab in the middle of my orchard indicates that it is mulched in the legend (map) by color. I'm not real sure what gives.
Olives really confuse me! I've mulched, sub-soiled (cultivated) and applied two stages of fertilzer. I neither got full fertilzation nor yiled bonus. I'm clearly doing something wrong, I have literally no idea what, any help or advice would be appreciated.
@@Coops383 No, I planted in March, mulched, cultivated and fertilzed all well in time. I'm wondering if the ground you plante the groves onto has to be a certain state/condition.
so the mulching, does it actually work? There is no visual change, it doesnt mulch the grass up or anything. Or do you need a mower as well? Also, any idea how to get lime on them? Great video tutorial series BTW
Great video as always man. Funny thing. I noticed when I'm mulching, I do a better job of getting more of the grass/weeds if I go in reverse. Possibly be I can see better while using to "outside" view. I don't know, though I'd just add it to your comments. 🤷♂️😄
Somehow mulching is not working at all for me. the weeds are high but they are not going away. Ground texture is also stating needs poweing permanently after first harvest.
How close do you have to get underneath those trees? You cut all the footage of you going in between the rows. Do you just go down the middle once or do you hug the side of each row which effectively requires you to go down each row twice to hug each side?
@@Blxz yea 2 passes unless u make the rows a tiny bit wider then u can fit a bigger smaller tractor and the 3m mulcher and one pass which saves so much time if u have several rows
@@ryanlotgd yeah. It's another bad design choice from giants. The extra production is not really worth the exyta required work - especially when 2 passes are required.
No and yes. Olives (like in real life) are good for growing across sloping terrain not suitable for traditional broadacre farming, but you can put them anywhere you want. If you don't have a field you will need to plough it anyway to make one and I believe that you will need to do so to get the production bonus. I don't believe even with periodic plowing enabled that you need to do it again for olives.
I’m having trouble with mine. Already harvested them but I can’t take care of the grass beneath. It won’t let me cultivate or mulch so their not regrowing
yeah this bug is still happening. I can use the sub soiler, it doesnt have any visual effect but it removes the needs plowing state in the bottom right, mulcher does absolutely nothing. way to go giants, the only new thing you added doesnt work XD
When doing it in field, make sure to lime and fertilize before plopping the rows down. When I cultivate I get close where I'm bumping along the rows, and I have the field creator mod, and have the sub set to create fields . End up seeing bunch of patches of grass that I mulch in AFTER fertilizing. Playing on Hinterland currently and have the season shut off so, olives come in on day 2 . Seeing the mod hub on olives noticed the apps there to use . Eventually will get to try those out soon!
You can only access gold crest valley via the train. You have to rent it, fill it with your product and drive across the map borders. It will show a message that the train is on its way to gold crest valley and sell your stuff there automatically

Genius.
I think you can use the elevated sprayers as well but I haven't had an opportunity to use them, they're expensive.
Another tip I forgot, when placing your trees cultivate the field first simply to give you some easy-to-follow gridlines.
u can also fit the 3m mulcher this way and one pass between rows and save a bit of time mulching dunno if a bigger cultivator saves time as the mini one is fairly fast compaired to others of the same type
Cant find one who fits above and works, can you say which model it is?

What do you do with the trees after harvesting when they say “Withered”?
The Fendt 200 V Vario is the best tractor for these. It's narrower than the tools you're using.

buy a field and create long lines.
when a grape or olive harvester is on auto pilot and you enter construction menu it will keep going in a line :)

Question for you
my Olives field wants Lime but the roes are to close together so how do I lime it ?
