My favorite piezo lighter is broke. More precisely, her piezo element, which produces a spark is broke.
I repair a lighter using a donor another lighter.

Good video. Nice clear view, with text and graphic explanation 👍🏼
This part is also broken in my lighter but I bought it two days ago and it's a zengaz I do not know how to fix it and it's definitely my favorite lighter
where did you get the wire you soldered on the piezo? because i think those are special kind and not regular cooper strand wire
Спасибо большое!
He dropped the rubber spacer on the bottom of the piezo igniter.. very important when it clicks the same time the flame comes out ...timing ...some need the extra space and some don't try and replace it with the same piezo igniter. If it's real difficult to light still ground the body to that piece on the bottom and make a circuit. Another trick I learned sometimes there's a cut in the insulation and it's shorting out the spark is below where it's supposed to come out I use super glue as paint it insulates then the spark comes out where it's supposed to. And when cutting it I use nail clippers and cut it flush to the top of the ceramic piece and then just bend it over don't remove the insulation it's already cut there
I use super glue for that too! Works perfect!
Thank you for the video but it would be nice if you kept in the tricky bits. Attaching the wire to the ignition was nicely missed 😉 I am not having a go Honestly but you might re-edit your vid and put that in as it can be one of the biggest pains. Stay safe and healthy much love to you.
Thank you for your comment! Any wire can be used. The main idea of the video is to reuse various elements from damaged devices.
Vitalii Tereshchuk 🙏🏼👍🏼 I like the way you think and if we all use the same mentality we might just have a planet left in future! To you my friend I say carry on with the beautiful work stay safe and healthy 😘👍🏼
Thank you! We are not alone!
A small muzzle looking part just fell out of mine. Your video still helped. Thanks.
Thank you sir! Seeing you go through this helped me figure out what was wrong with mine! I am cheap and didn't want to throw more plastic into the trash so am trying to fix mine rather than just buy another one. I know they are cheap but that's besides the point.
seeing ???????????
@@nicolegiguere3027 yes
Me too😂
i used to get constantly sad about if my favorite thunderbird insert with a piezo ignition would break but i realized i could always buy another one, not like its ever gonna run away!
That's why I'll never buy another Thunderbird insert. The igniter went in less than 6 months after less than a dozen uses and they wanted more money than it cost new to repair it.
Mine is a metal jet lighter with a hinged lid. It's also supposed to light up a picture in the front when the lid is opened, it uses 3 little watch type batteries for that. The lid has to come off before I can take the top of the lighter off to get to the igniter and the lid is held on by real small metal pins that I'm going to have to drive out. I have a feeling this one is going to be a pain. I just hope I can find a cheap lighter with the igniter that will work.
Dollar tree bbq lighter. Cut wire to size. $1.25.
@@rafaeltorre1643 That sounds like it'll work, thanks.
@@bodeine454 No problem. I do it all the time. You have about a 5 inch wire so it fits any lighter or torch!
This is why I use the new Zippo that uses flint and butane, I just don't get how to repair the clicker in the torches. I'm not saying what is better since this fix will probably last which is also efficient, but comparing the whole video length to my flint lighter it takes me about 1 min to replace flint even though I have to do it more regularly. Their actually are some torches that work off flint believe it or not, but Zippo does not.
I'm using the zippo with piezo mechanism. The clicker is quite eternal so I don't worry about that, BUT when something goes wrong I'll just learn how to replace the clicker or buy new "filling" to the case.
No more fuel loses and constant adding of the liquid, the flame is wind proof, hotter and more efficient, lighter is for once a reliable tool in time of need. 8/10 would recommend
@@spicydiarrhea5662 Well I might try the Zippo single torch eventually since Zippo brand butane inserts are the best so far out of my tests. But I don't really prefer torch to smoke because it burns incredibly fast and uses more fuel.
But yeah you are right about it being somewhat windproof, also you can hold it down a little bit better since it doesn't travel upwards.
I bought mine today new, how often can this happen? Because I'm kind of concerned now that mine might do the same in the future
Mew Cat Loves Things The piezo element is very small. How long it depends on the frequency of use. I have it for about a 1-1.5 year
@@xVoLAnD I have a blue jet torch lighter, im just curious because it was $4 and If it lasts a year, im fine with that, $4 for another one next year ain't that bad of a value for how long it lasts, I actually have the same one as you without the transparent bottom, its purple and lined black owned by atomic thank you
@@ferafrost2385 i have a 10 year old red one and this is the first time it happened to me
Is there a good quality brand that works or just any piezoelectric ignition system works? Because I have a colibri stealth 3 and It just stopped working, and I can't find a lighter shop that can work on it
Generally, all piezos are the same. Sometimes they may differ in size
OK friend, I wanted to know if you need to drain a little to remove the burner to adjust the valve because mine lights up but then goes out. mine is similar to this one.
If mines falling out what do I do?
спасибо
I have one jet lighter (origin from the factory settings), but why my jet lighter isn't windproof? Should jet lighter is windproof? And how to fix it?
They are not wind proof. Wind resistant. Use a torch not a wind resistant colored tiny flame.
You'll ruin an igniter every single time if you try to ignite it with your bare hands. Good job Pablo.
Anyone know where to buy these pizo tings??
I’ve been lookin everywhere and I cannot find a single one for lighter size
Find any other piezo lighter. They are often found on the street.
Dollar tree bbq lighter. $1.25. Cut to size.
It would help while making a video if you keep the thing you are working on in the frame where we can see it.
Yes, of course, but there are no important points in this video.
@@xVoLAnD which we can't see.
@hbkgirl75 which one is in the video? show me the time-code, please
@hbkgirl75 This is the metal part that lifts the nipple to release the gas, when pressed. Perhaps, mechanism in your lighter has a different solution.
Ok mine makes a spark but doesn't light most the time any fixes
The micro hole may be clogged and needs to be cleaned
Adjust wire
I can't tell you how many lighters I've owned that have the igniter fail....some were very expensive
Buy a cheap vintage lighter from the usa or Japan and you can have a piezoelectric igniter made to last forever and swap it into any torch or lighter you want. Personally I buy vintage lighters and repair them. They are like gold vs foil. I haven’t used a plastic lighter in years. Except for breaking them open for the gaskets to use in my repairs. Lol
Can you teach me how to fix my lighter knife plsss
for me it's the gas not coming out can you do a tutorial on how to get the gas out please
Thank u sir

Dropped it one time before I even used it. About to just use a bic.
Lol cool, this thing has an “off” feature
GooD very good full top ... 👏 👌 👍
Hey my igniter works just filled it and it has a very weak flame and barely lights at all
The hose is leaking. Replace the hose that moves the fluid to the nozzle. That will fix the flow issue you're talking about
You filled it incorrectly. Use the correct adapter. It having a weak or no flame after refill is the giveaway.
Clipper JET Lighters are Worse..They either JAM when pressed and Dont Spark' ..I have never seen SO MANY Parts Pieces inside one of these..Pieces Parts so small and easily LOST when Dismantling... CRAP !...
Thank You
Don't be tired, anyone can do it
I've watched so many freaking videos and have looked at so many websites just today to try to fix my stupid lighter. I haven't been able to figure it out still. It worked fine then all of a sudden wouldn't spark. The piezo isn't dead (know for sure because I zapped myself a few times lol) and everything else on it was fine...I can't figure it out. Also can't figure out how to troubleshoot/repair the damn thing wouthout it taking hours and hours 😅
When you have correctly installed the piezo in the lighter, you should see a spark on the gas nozzle
adjust the spark gap
You have a short. Find hole in insulation and super glue over it to insulate. I always do this.
Это zenga, у меня такая уже 10 лет служит, я ее покупал в 2012
Да, это хорошая зажигалка. Жаль, что из пластика.
Она ещё никогда не ломалась. В 5 лет купили родители, а сейчас мне 15
my spark stone is gone can I buy one again?
Yes, you can. You can do it in a lot of stores around
Купил новую такую,заправил новым хорошим газом,а гореть не хочет,газ идет искра есть,в чем причина?
Check to see if the gas is escaping
Я написал газ идет искра есть,новая зажигалка
@@user-wasyterkin That means it's coming out too intensely. Nevertheless, play with the gas supply
I think I’ll just go and buy another one 😅
Yes, sure. It's a simple curiosity about what's inside.
My piezo works but will not turn on. think its gas problem
Yeah, probably
Make the text on screen smaller and more illegible please.
Helpful though ty
Do you mean subtitles? I don't control them, it's on your laptop. You can turn them off
Is it hard to talk? Explaining what you are doing would be very helpful!
Why assume everyone speaks the same language as you? And proficiently enough for instructions in a video?
Come on my dude..
Вот не могу понять, у меня при разборе зажигалки на одну делать больше чем в данном видео, и эту деталь я не могу понять куда ставить....(
Забей, это лишние запчасти 😂
А что делать если кнопка не щёлкает?

Did you just solder the wire into replacement ignitor?
Yes, and isolated. It is necessary to use acid for soldering.
Ok, so acid core solder? And sorry for so many questions but does isolating the wire involve removing any of that waxy stuff that holds the wire? I mean, I guess I should just dive in and try out some things. "Play with fire you're gonna get burned." keeps repeating in my head.
@@MyPronounsISwhom No problem. The contact, to which you solder, a metal wire and therefore it will be difficult to solder if you do not use acid for soldering or welding. To insulate, just use electrical tape or any other tape.
Nothing about this video seems to show any quick and easy method to fix it 😅😅 my bad but true.
The difficult way is when you create the piezo element yourself. So, it's definitely a quick and easy way 😉
I'm thinking I'm going to splash out the 50p , for a new one.🙄
Cool! Congratulation!
fuck i spayed butane all over my bed
Next time buy flint lighter..will never give you a problem...
No-no, thanks! I love the piezo. Flint lighter flashes when you light
Yeah ok so when you try to light it outside you rip the skin off your thumb from spinning the wheel so much
Shit!😱
So you've got to buy a lighter, to fix a lighter?🙄🥴
Not true. An empty lighter was found on the street
meth
Not necessarily (but usually lmao) These lighters hold up insanely better in wind than any other lighter I've used and there's no bad taste from them either, that's why I use them. Well, that and the fact that they're more common than bics or zippos in the area that I'm in right now. Only started using a torch because after getting here I couldn't find zippo fluid (or even the zippo butane insert) to save my life! The .99 lighters around here are refillable torches, so had to get one. Tried to go back to my zippo when fluid for it finally arrived, but it tastes nasty to me after having used these. Sure wish they weren't so gd damn unreliable though lol
